Moksha Posted September 22, 2007 Report Posted September 22, 2007 How about a little old time Country Western?
Elphaba Posted September 22, 2007 Author Report Posted September 22, 2007 How about a little old time Country Western? I really love that old time Country Western Moksha...that REAL old time Country Western. I also watched the Joan Baez version as well. It was great. This isn't a YouTube, but it was so interesting I thought I'd add it anyway. That artist, Brian Dettmer, carves the insides of books out to make these exquisite designs. He calls them "Book Autopsies." Brian Dettmer: Book AutopsiesElphaba
Elphaba Posted September 23, 2007 Author Report Posted September 23, 2007 According to Clive Davis, Diana Krall gives a "punchy rendition of Fly Me To The Moon, with the sparest of accompaniment from John Clayon on double-bass. It gives OI' Blue Eyes' recording a run for its money, don't you think?" Edit to add: I just found this, and you can't miss it. Between this and Diana Krall, this is one of the best posts on this entire thread.James Brown, Luciana PavarottiThis is a Man's WorldEdit to add: Okay, this is just crazy:Insane 707 LandingElphaba

MorningStar Posted September 27, 2007 Report Posted September 27, 2007 This is another beautiful song I got to sing in a few choirs. It was written by a man after he and his wife had several miscarriages, and I believe they had a stillborn child too. It is so inspiring to me when a person can find the strength to write such a song when they've suffered a tragedy like that.
