You can call him up and ask. Quote

Guest Iggy Posted September 17, 2007 Report Posted September 17, 2007 Because I'm a girl visting 3 strange men alone at night in a house. You knew the answer all along - unless the missionaries had already asked another sister in the ward to accompany you. Again, ask the Bishop - ask the missionaries if there will be another woman there. if not, then tell them no you can not go.Edited to say: Peg - you are a far cry from being a girl, you are 27 years old. You are a Single Young Adult- do you attend a Singles Ward? Quote

rickg Posted September 17, 2007 Report Posted September 17, 2007 Because I'm a girl visting 3 strange men alone at night in a house. Unless the rules have changed since I was on a mission, the answer is NO! Not kosher at all. Quote

havejoy Posted September 17, 2007 Report Posted September 17, 2007 How do I find the Bishop's contact?I'm not sure if all are the same but on the back of the program we receive as we enter the chapel on Sunday there is a list of names and phone numbers. The Bishop's name and number is listed first. You could also call the Relief Society president, her number should be on this list, too. She might go with you or be able to get another adult woman member to go. You never go by yourself. There always has to be another adult woman. Quote
Guest Iggy Posted September 17, 2007 Report Posted September 17, 2007 I haven't heard of such, they have not told me about it.There might not be a Young Adult Ward in your area. If you can not find the Bishops phone number on your Sunday program, then ask the missionaries for it. Ask your missionaries for the name and phone number of the Relief Society President. Quote
Pegtagatha Posted September 18, 2007 Author Report Posted September 18, 2007 Yes, I am a 27 yearold woman. They changed the location to church. Now, I feel so ashamed and so embarrassed. Quote

mnn727 Posted September 20, 2007 Report Posted September 20, 2007 Church rules state that there must be 3 men (at least 1 an Elder or High Priest) present if they are meeting with a single woman, this is for protection on both sides. There is nothing un-kosher about it. There are rules against 2 missionaries meeting with a single woman. There have been many times the missionaries have asked me to go along with them to an appointment with a single woman, just so they could go and teach. However if anyone feels uncomfortable about a situation they should not get into it. Quote
jadams_4040 Posted September 21, 2007 Report Posted September 21, 2007 Because I'm a girl visting 3 strange men alone at night in a house. If i were a bishop i would advise no. And not because we do not trust the missionaries, but because it is not right. Quote
