pam Posted April 24, 2023 Report Posted April 24, 2023 I saw this several days ago. So sad because this mural means a lot to the Hawaii people. Quote
Still_Small_Voice Posted April 24, 2023 Report Posted April 24, 2023 This is my opinion of this wonder mural. "Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set." -- Proverbs 22:28 If they are going to move it, put it somewhere else to preserve it for many to see in the present and future generations. pam and zil2 2 Quote
scottyg Posted April 24, 2023 Report Posted April 24, 2023 The church leadership needs to open their eyes, and realize they need to be more actively involved with all 3 universities. Those they trusted to be in charge of them have proven time and time again that they are putting their own foolish desires and activism over the gospel. In their defense, it's hard to know who you can trust. Just because someone is a member of the church doesn't mean they want to see it succeed. Still_Small_Voice and Traveler 2 Quote

I am thinking that rather than trying to deal with BYU Hawaii administration that it would be a much better idea to contact the Family History department of the LDS Church to preserve important historical artifacts related to Church history. Obviously, it would be more important for someone of Polynesian decent to request preservation of this important artifact – I plan to go through channels to attempt to preserve this artifact. As a side note – I own student housing (apartments) in Provo very close to the BYU Provo campus. Dealing with the miniature kingdom of BYU student housing on behalf of my tenants has been one of the most difficult journeys in my life. In short, I will no longer even talk to anyone in that little corner of the universe. I inform my tenants that if they are harassed by that department for any reason, to contact me and I will have my lawyer deal with the problem of the university. Otherwise, I remain a fan of my alma mater. The Traveler Quote
