WillowTheWhisp Posted February 15, 2008 Report Posted February 15, 2008 I also don't feel like something needs to be officially reported before action can be taken. Anyone who reads the forums regularly knows which threads I am referring to. I guess I'm just asking for a little proactivity on the part of the staff. No news is not always good news. This is a very busy forum and with the best will in the world the moderatos can't always read every post. That's why there is a report button, so that things can be brought to their attention. I'm a moderator on two forums and we appreciate the members reporting things which concern them. It may be that we don't consider the post to be a problem, in which case we take no action but it may well be that we feel some action needs to be taken and appreciate having the matter brought to our attention. the_jason Posted February 15, 2008 Author Report Posted February 15, 2008 This is the very thing I'm talking about."Furthermore I am under the impression that the Mormon Doctrine greatly goes against the teachings of the Bible. I witnessed to two Mormons the other day. Their minds changed on Mormonism. My friend and his Historian father-in-law got two Mormon missionaries to cry because they found the truth. I am asking that all of you hear me on this and open your hearts to the truth, that is the Bible is all Truth and Book of Mormon was forged by a man, not inspired by God."Tell me that's not contentious or anti. WillowTheWhisp Posted February 15, 2008 Report Posted February 15, 2008 That is anti. It isn't a question. It's a disagreement. I haven't seen the originl post or how people responded to it but I do find it very surprising that two missionaries could be reduced to tears by the posters friend and father-in-law, unless it was tears for them because they couldn't accept the truth of the Gospel. Canuck Mormon Posted February 15, 2008 Report Posted February 15, 2008 I have deleted the posts and sent a warning, but I'm now leaning towards banning. It is being discussed by the mods. Did you report it Jason? Because I didn't see a reported post. Quote
the_jason Posted February 16, 2008 Author Report Posted February 16, 2008 Did you report it Jason? Because I didn't see a reported post.Nope. There are enough mods in this place who visit the forums often. Between them there should be someone who notices it and takes care of it. I shouldn't have to report it to get it fixed. A mod no doubt has already seen it. Quote
Canuck Mormon Posted February 16, 2008 Report Posted February 16, 2008 I only just saw it and delted it. Quote

So what. Can you imagine - two missionaries supposedly breaking down and crying because they've found "the truth."It laughable. Quote
Moksha Posted February 17, 2008 Report Posted February 17, 2008 Atheist Sees Image of Big Bang in Piece of ToastFor Immediate Release: Miracle Toast? (ACPA-london) Excitement is growing in the Northern England town of Huddlesfield following the news that a local man saw an image of the big-bang in a piece of toast. atheist donald chapman, 36, told local newspaper, "the huddlesfield express" that he was sitting down to eat breakfast when an unusual toast pattern caught his eye. "I was just about to spread the butter when I noticed a fairly typical small hole in the bread surrounded by a burnt black ring. however the direction and splatter patterns of the crumbs as well as the changing shades emanating outwards from this black hole were very clearly similar to the chaotic-dynamic non-linear patterns that one would expect following the big bang". "It's the beginning of the world" he added excitedly. Ever since news of the discovery made national headlines, local hoteliers have been overwhelmed by an influx of atheists from all over the country who have flocked to Huddlesfield to catch a glimpse of the scientific relic. "I have always been an Atheist and to see my life choices validated on a piece of toast is truly astounding" said one guest at the Huddlesfield arms hotel. WANDERER Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 · Hidden Hidden Is there an online source for direct lessons and teachings for a serious student? Kind of like an online study group for the clueless?
Guest sunny-fibi Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 · Hidden Hidden Loudmouth, how kind of you to call us " you people" as if we're the most horrid peices of trash around. Let me just say that you are in fact wrong, and I'm sorry for the handful of Mormons you encountered and had an insanely rude biased feeling towards them. Maybe the person being judged by God that has judged others unfairly such as yourself might have more explaining to do. But, if you really have the desire to judge and entire religious community on the tiny percentage of them you have met, be my guest. It's incredibly niave but enjoy that. I could go all day basing my opinions of other groups of people on just the ones I have heard of or met. So maybe I could just say that all Rabbi's and people of the Jewish faith are molestors. After all, I do know what those people are "really" like.
Dale Posted February 17, 2008 Report Posted February 17, 2008 I read every item for and against Book of Mormon hisoricity. I have books like Mormonism Shadow or Reality, New Approaches To The Book of Mormon. I am still open to it's historicity. The claim's in such books have not gone unanswered. So until the arguments against the book get more persuasive i will continue to affirm its historicity. FARMS has dealt with many of the new and old arguments against the book. FAIR has dealt with them also. Quote
