I've thought this for a long time.

  • Christians won't stab you if you burn the Bible.
  • Latter-day Saints won't shoot you if you burn the Book of Mormon. (And before you start, yes I know Latter-day Saints are Christians, but not all Christians are Latter-day Saints, so let's not go off on that tangent.)
  • Jews won't strangle you if you tear up the Torah.
  • Hindus won't disembowel you if you use the Mahabharata as a fire-lighter.

Some Muslims on the other hand will cause you a lot of of pain, destruction and death if you burn, desecrate or even insult the Koran. And that's why snotty little district "judges" (who are actually just jumped-up stipendiary magistrates) virtue-signal by giving you a visit-to-the-principal's-office-style dressing down if you ever do it.

Continuing with the school principal analogy, you might as well have a codified rule forbidding any criticism of the school bully (who's known for his psycho-temper and his carrying of knives) but making it fine to pick on mild-mannered Jeremy Smith or Susie Walters who always turn the other cheek.

I give it 10 minutes before our glorious police force shows up at your door to arrest you for internet hate crimes.

47 minutes and counting!

To be honest, I'm a teeny-tiny bit worried since you said that.

Also, I've been playing devil's advocate with myself: we know that people who read the Bible are not the sort of folks who crash aeroplanes into buildings, but could they potentially become so? How often do we see a Bible burning compared to a Koran burning? My gut says: "no it would never happen" but are there "Christian radicals" hiding in the woodwork, waiting to commit acts of terror should there ever be a Bible-burning?

I still think Islam gets special protection, while Christianity gets sat on. A few years ago Christian street preacher Dale McAlpine got arrested and charged for daring to tell a gay PCSO that homosexuality was a sin. (It's not even as if he preached it: he said "it's a sin" in response to a direct question from the PCSO!) Admittedly the police eventually backed down and apologized, but not before McAlpine had spent hours in police custody. Have you ever heard of that happening to a Muslim?

Around the same time a pair of Christian innkeepers were arrested for suggesting to a Muslim guest that Muhammad was "a warlord". That one got all the way to court before the judge threw it out as "ridiculous" but it still destroyed their business.

I agree and disagree with your sentiment.

(I don't think the police will actually show up at your door, sometimes I type out a post and have to delete because I believe it will lead to the local bobby taking me down the nick, maybe this one will.)

I do think the bible has every capacity to lead to radical terroristic behaviour. Any ideology does. The KKK is a "Christian" movement after all. I think at the moment though, The christian flair for extremism has largely died down, and the dynamic has shifted. I think Islam is a provably false religion, but they have good honest members, who do believe good honest things, and have good honest practices. I do think they also have many extremist organisations which have a very dominant voice though, which is concerning, but your average muslim on many levels is going to be just like the rest of us, poor, scared and just trying to survive the hellish existence we have been born into on this planet.

The issue in this country is elites in cities like London, who seem to have an obsession with virtue signalling. I believe most judges, high ranking police officials and government officials are corrupt/Free masons/ideologically motivated. "The establishment" has been whipped into a leftist frenzy, where it needs to look hip and modern to appeal to Londoners, and it does this by trying to oust tradition, and Christianity, and being too scared to offend. Islam is not native to the UK, and I think people are scared to upset what they don't understand. Many grew up with Christianity, they understand it, and can see through the BS when it is being used improperly. But most people in "The establishment" did not grow up with Islam, do not understand Islam, and so do not feel comfortable challenging its improper applications because they want to be seen as virtuous and tolerant by their corrupt peers.

Just some thoughts. I hate the government.

About 30 arrests a day for offensive online messages, which totals approximately 210 arrests each week?  Yeesh.

It's been getting worse every year apparently.

Hopefully when Big Nige gets elected this will all end.
