havejoy Posted April 3, 2008 Report Posted April 3, 2008 Do all wards have Super Saturday? If you have it, when do you have it? Quote
miztrniceguy Posted April 3, 2008 Report Posted April 3, 2008 we apparently don't, cuz i've never heard of it Quote
Palerider Posted April 4, 2008 Report Posted April 4, 2008 Do all wards have Super Saturday? If you have it, when do you have it?Our stake has a super saturday except ours is a Stake youth activity day.....we have it about once a quarter Quote
Canuck Mormon Posted April 4, 2008 Report Posted April 4, 2008 Sears has Super Saturday Sales up here. Never heard of one for the Ward though. What is it? Quote
havejoy Posted April 4, 2008 Author Report Posted April 4, 2008 Our Super Saturday is a Tri-Ward RS activity where we all get together from 9:00am until 3:00pm on one Saturday each year and make crafts. We also have lunch together. Quote
pushka Posted April 4, 2008 Report Posted April 4, 2008 Methinks me might have encountered Super Saturdays many eons ago...don't know if Burnley holds them these days tho.. Quote
mightynancy Posted April 4, 2008 Report Posted April 4, 2008 We generally don't anymore...thank goodness, LOL. Nah, we have one about once every couple of years. I almost went to the last one - one of the crafts was wooden plaques with quotes on them. I'd have gone, but they didn't offer "Zip it." Quote
havejoy Posted April 4, 2008 Author Report Posted April 4, 2008 We usually have our Super Saturday in November but this year we opted for May. We're making "Bloom Where You're Planted" wooden signs, Pine Cone ornaments made from ribbon, Glass Block Temples, Nativity Sets, Photo books, Living Christ photo mats, Pictorial Family trees, Coasters out of tile, Boutonnieres and corsages as well as the standard "gifts in a jar" like soup and cookies. We're also asking everyone to sign up to bring soups, sandwiches and desserts. Quote
Vanessa2 Posted April 5, 2008 Report Posted April 5, 2008 I think we have Super Saturdays, but we call them Women's Conferences. I think we have a regional one, but our stake also does one once or twice a year. I hear they're great...I never get to go because my super Saturday consists of working. Lame.... Quote
sixpacktr Posted April 5, 2008 Report Posted April 5, 2008 Super Saturday has been a Stake activity since I was in Mutual. For as long as I can remember it was every month, although it is up to the stake. My current stake has it every 3rd Saturday of the month. First a lesson from the regional Church Education person (seminary), then an activity/dance. Quote
Sherbear Posted April 12, 2008 Report Posted April 12, 2008 Super Saturday or Fantastic Friday is optional for some wards if the Bishop approves of them. It is not something that has to be done. Quote
MorningStar Posted April 12, 2008 Report Posted April 12, 2008 We have terrific tuesday. I'd rather have Super Saturday. It's hard to get things done just in one evening. I think I'll suggest that at our next meeting! :) Quote
mightynancy Posted April 12, 2008 Report Posted April 12, 2008 I don't mean to be snide, but do people really make pine cones from ribbon? Wow. Quote
Palerider Posted April 12, 2008 Report Posted April 12, 2008 As I said earlier in our Stake we have a Super Saturday about once a month or every other month. Its a Stake Youth Activity. We have one today and we will be having a Scripture Bowl. This is for all the youth enrolled in Seminary or any other youth 14yrs and up that wants to attend. Quote
havejoy Posted April 13, 2008 Author Report Posted April 13, 2008 I don't mean to be snide, but do people really make pine cones from ribbon? Wow.Sounds kind of goofy but they're really beautiful and can be used as decorations for Thanksgiving or even hung on the Christmas tree. Quote
PinkPanther Posted April 13, 2008 Report Posted April 13, 2008 I love Super Saturday!!! It's a great time to do lots of fun crafts even if you suck at doing crafts!! It's also fun to just hang out and socialize. Quote
