havejoy, thanks :) i've studied on and off for a little over a year now. first sacrament meeting was April 26th, first discussion with the elders was April 27th (all this year). i'm looking forward to it more and more each day! even my bishop is excited (that or he acts that way for every new person LOL) i'm laying here in bed on my computer and iPod listening to Michelle Tumes' song "Healing Waters," and it just hits home, especially this part: pour over me, in order to clean all my intentions baptizing streams, i swam in the freedom of redemption floating on the sea of purity and knowing i can dive in love that rescues me i love it! i'm actually thinking about putting together a slideshow set to that song and another churchy-one. there's a video on YouTube that uses Michelle's song, i've put the link below.

t2d22009, do you an idea of what year this song was from, or a general idea? i'm going to be working through the different EFY cd archives that i've managed to find so far and see if i can't locate this song. thanks! -EP -
Yep, it's true. EPsters is finally going to get her toes wet and get dunked It's June 20th at the Wooster Ward here in Wooster OH. We haven't set a time yet, but it should be set sometime this week at our next discussion/meeting. Anyone who will be in OH is more than welcome to attend! I'll post the chapel's address and everything when it's closer to time. Also, for those of you who would like one, I'm making announcements/invites, and would be more than happy to snail-mail it out or scan it into an email for you :) PS: as of now, only 19 more days

whoo hoo TCMM!!! congrats :) -
i agree completely with pam, especially as someone who was 14 just 5 years ago. so, just be fair warned i'm going to ramble for a bit as i give some suggestions :) talk to your son, but make sure he knows you're doing it as a friend and you're not out to get him or whatnot. that's one of the quickest ways to get him to shut down. what did he do at school that you and your son were required to go to counceling? when you talk to him, in general and whenever you're upset with him, what is your tone of voice and body language like? us teenagers can sense stuff like that a mile away and throw up walls, etc. faster than you could ever believe. make sure before you approach him that you can remain level-headed and not do anything that could set his defenses off. make sure you have your wife in on this, maybe even have her try talking to him first. what about another trusted adult, such as his bishop or a teacher he likes? sometimes, it's easier for us to speak to someone outside of the family/situation than it is to talk to your mom and dad. is there any way he could get a work permit, and find a small job close to home, or even just offer to mow the lawns of neighbors for a little money? instead of hiring a babysitter for him (oh my gosh..please DON'T do that for him...honestly), perhaps try working with him to see what kind of extra-curricular/church/school activities he'd be interested in doing that would keep him fairly busy. most importantly, work with your family to create a system that will allow him more and more independence as he makes positive progress, possibly implementing the use of those little "chore charts" where they're listed on one side and then there's boxes to check off when they're done or put little stickers? you could even make something like that up on your computer at home instead of buying one. those are just a few of the many things i thought you could possibly consider before you talk to him. of course, no one will know the true heart of your son more than you and your wife. good luck, and keep us updated :)

i'm really hoping this one isn't true...but... i was told that LdyBug and Soul were engaged and getting married, but Lonestar suddenly developed a horrific rage of jealousy and essentially trashed the entire relationship... how sad...

while that's a helpful hint (ignoring them as some have said and ruthie's suggestion of making some kind of note), and in some cases it may work, you're probably still going to get app invites no matter what. if i know i'm not going to use it or look at it every day or every other day, i just go ahead and hit ignore :) and always Always ALWAYS pay attention to what links you're clicking on and KEEP your login info private. some of them can appear to be a authentic link for FB, most commonly a login page, but in reality it's a phising portal someone's setup to harvest/hack usernames/passwords so they can mess around and spam your friends. if that does happen, immediately change your password for FB and maybe even your email account (if they're both the same), so this doesn't happen again. i'd also recommend doing a virus scan for any tracking cookies, viruses, adware/spyware,etc. just to be safe, and even consider putting up a firewall if you want (windows usually comes with one you can turn on). oh, and ruthiechan, i LOVE that flash quote in your siggy, always makes me laugh!
