Does being religious make you more judgemental?
bcguy replied to Suzie's topic in General Discussion
I do not care to be around guys who use a four letter word with every three words spoken in a conversation. I have seen members who are judgmental. BTW, my sister-inlaw and her husband were seeing a new member of the church. She and her husband always fought "he is extreme narcissistic" and both separated him. She started seeing this new member and not long, got married. The marriage did not last long, and she separated from him, but was seeing other men across the US "We saw there pics in face book" before she was divorced. She met the kids counselor at there secondary school. After a few months, she said she was pregnant by him. She was defeloshiped, name removed on the lds contact list. She still attends the ward with her daughter. But you really cannot control what members will do. She had some backlash from other members but still attends. I was a bit shocked at all these events but not once, did I show judgment against her. She knew what she did. BTW her dad cheated on her mom. I have heard of the cheat Gene, but not sure if its true. -
I say this, because the US debt is not over, it is not under control...just delayed with a bill that was approved to prevent the collapse some months back. I just looked at the GDP vs capital debt and I think the first time in US history, the DEBT has passed GDP. Not good! What else may come of 2012? mmm perhaps a us passenger or war plane knocked out of the sky by a surface to air missile launched by a terrorist. Seems there are 10,000 plus shoulder launched missiles missing from the former government of Libya. Do not count me on flying over Middle Eastern territory any time soon. In 1885, the largest Solar Flare storm in historory hit the united states. It was reported that Morse code stations caught fire from the effects of the solar storm. Today, most of the developed world depends heavily on electronics of all types to get though the day. Now imagine, a solar storm so big, it will wipe out almost all electronics. Not only will electronics be wipped out, but major substation transformers will be wipped out. Substation transformers are not mass produced, and it can take months to recieve a new one. I should be smart, and build up a supply of modified veggie oil to run in my diesel truck. My truck only needs three things to get it started, glow plugs, starter and a battery. No electronics required. If we ever get hit, and I am lucky, I may be able to start my truck. Best to save not only food, but everything you use on a daily basis. Also, if you have a cabin, expect to stay in it if the city goes into Anarchy looting and roving crime waves.

Found the perfect guy, but...
bcguy replied to jellybelly's topic in Marriage and Relationship Advice
Its simple, just be true-full from beginning to end. If he goes around telling everyone what you did, then he is not worth it to get married to! -
Girls snubbed him, but he won in the end!
bcguy replied to shine7's topic in Marriage and Relationship Advice
It is a good example of being judgmental. I have seen woman who are snobs, and personally, I could care less for this type of person. -

bcguy replied to shine7's topic in Marriage and Relationship Advice
Its not what is on the outside that matters, it is what is on the inside that makes a relationship work. Why is it American woman are such snobs? Why do woman, and even men pick a person for there looks all the time? There was a documentary of a woman who was ugly, or ordinary. Her BF or husband left her for another woman. She got tons of plastic surgery "some woman look awful" but hers turned out good. This ex BF was attracted to this "new person" and had a crush on her, and asked her out...she said no. You LEFT me for another woman! He was confused because he never knew the person he was talking to was is ex wife or GF. I remember a guy in the military was one of the most cheerful, happy people I ever knew. One of the Sargent said "When he is depressed, he still looks cheerful...whats with that?" He picked a woman who was not the prettiest thing..but it was inside her what he wanted! Ever see dancing with the stars? A us amry Sargent became a burn victim and was on the show with his scars and missing one ear. No snubs there! he just had a great personality. -
Being self reliant is so important these days. I JUST wish I had a shop to repair, build and fabricate things that I would other wise not buy. My wife, who can be difficult at times, likes to buy lots of things new. I do not believe in that and it has put a burdon on our marrige. To be self reliant, means to be buy within your means, or make it your own. I encourage anyone to not be a part of the system if at all possible. Do I need tv? not really. Cable, no! Books, yes..books can be refered to over and over. BTW, I have been working more but..its still not the same as working constant for one employer. So I have to always sell my self and my skills to some one. My dream would be to be 90% self reliant. My cousin, is partially like this. She lives a completely different life style. Has chickens, garden and husband works. She hates neighbors and traffic. There nearest neighbor lives a mile away in Grass seed farms. In the mile I walked in the middle of her road with my family from her house, we had three cars pass us. Very much isolated amongst agriculture. But surprisingly, only five miles away from I-5 and a small town. Very simple life. Only thing I did not care for there is the roosters waking me up in the morning.

With disturbing things on tv, does not surprise me that maybe part of what we see in culture is embedded in dreams. I have always been a vivid dreamer. In fact, if I do not dream, I have not been in a deep rem state. I just awaken with a intense dream "It is 2 am" and yes, I am a bit of a insomniac. I did head off to bed early at 2am. Are you a pilot by chance?

I have been comfortable that no book has 100% of the truth. All books have some kind of errors. It would not surprise me if you take the first book of Mormon off the press in 1822? and compare side by side with today's book of Mormon and see the differences. Secondly, the united states was not where the fabled garden of eden was..if there ever were a garden of eden. Scientist have traced back mans prehistoric roots millions of years ago to Ethiopia. Lastly, before the bible was ever allowed to be placed in the hands of its congregation "the king never did allow the public to own the bible" It could have been altered under his control or "edited" Kings in those times were not always considered honest.

that means no one calls, no one emails no one visits concerning your mental or financial health. That is just my general concenus. There is such a huge disconnect with the church and of course, area companies. While I do work for my self, the income is a stipend and should be living in a box, other then being subsidized by my high income "and some time crazy" wife. BC employers can in my opinion shove it" if they think that they are god in terms "if you do not have Canadian training, you are not hirable" mentality. If a bishop shows concern for a member, ask him..not his nutty wife! My wife hates embarrassment and will do anything, including lying to make it sound like its nothing. This is my $%& for the day. I just feel like leaving and probebly will get no emails as to why.

Got a large 50 gallon container outside. Could put some fish in them then feed them. Would drain out some of the water into the garden and the ammonia water would turn to nitrates making the plants thrive. Its a idea and probably a good one. I would not use the tank to raise the fish to eat. To small.

Mam, you are out of water because town wells are dry
bcguy replied to bcguy's topic in General Discussion
In a real estate course I attended long ago, my instructor said, "you own the land to the center of the earth to the sky". I guess what he was referring to was you hold right to build up or down. Anyway, I did not know how widespread the drought issue was in texas when I looked at the national drought map. WOW. It covers almost the entire state. US Drought Monitor -

How dare they play with the lives of people who own there own land! I bet you can challenge that in court. According to realestate laws, if you own your own land, you own everything up to space, and to the center of the earth. You know, just because the state makes it a law, does not mean its right. I would bury my own under ground water storage and totally forget it even exist. -

Its all a interesting concept. I wonder if the tonight show or letterman show will make jokes about what this city is doing? BTW, there is a HUGE well, big for the area, property next to my parents. It cannot perk. To much clay. Is it even remotely possible to dig deeper past clay based ground to eventually hit sand? I would love to own that property some day. But my first pick, is Bellingham property! or anything north of there. Right along the water, and few people still!!! Upper Washington where it is still fairly undeveloped north of Bellingham is soo nice. Getting away from over populated areas and being close to water is what I wish for! We have lots of water and always will with our wet winters. Bellingham Whatcom County Tourism | Travel, Hotel and Visitor Information -

Imagine this happening to your house, neighborhood, or town??? Vancouver had the foresight to build a massive storage system in the mountains to avoid such a thing. I guess it also could be drought/global warming but also, over population and not enough water to help the locals. CNN.com - Breaking News, U.S., World, Weather, Entertainment & Video News

Makes me want to move further away from the US. After all, Canada depends on the Us for trade. Just a few things I want to add. I am just about home while on vacation on the oregon coast. I was being fairly observant and asked a few people visiting on how there economy in there city was doing. some were stable, because the city was not involved in the .housing bust. Secondly, take a look at this article. World Debt is Unpayable, The Only Solution is Monetary Collapse When will the americans get it, that you cannot live the lifestyle you like to live, without its financial consequences? Second, I have thought of moving to a "affordable" city where income is more inline with rent and living expensese. There would be less rain as a nice benifit. I am a west coast person. Was thinking of oregon, but heard oregon is in not good shape. Living in Vancouver BC is "WAY to cost prohibative" other then the nice benifits of its medical system.

Food storage is inflation hedge and never looses value no matter what the market is doing.

yes, old as the hills as thay say. I started doing irc in 1995-1996. That was so long ago. There was one on efnet but it was taken over and lots of spam on it. I think irc should be just referral only. Keeps the problem "non members' out of it. I am also less inclined to do irc. for one, the timing is never right to meet with some one online and is less personable unless you know the person in real life. I think it would be nifty if there was vidio/text chat and a game room irc users can hang out with. Afterall, family often get together and play games :) BTW, how is everyone summer doing? we have had a really cool summer with more rain then normal in Vancouver BC. temps in the 70s. Just right.

Here is a better idea. Learn how to make biodiesel. Then take the glycern and use it as soap. It works wonders on car parts. Biodiesel does not break down "I have a batch from 2003" and its still in perfect shape. Gas or diesel to break down over a period of time.

Hi all, If you all give the distribution of food, and fuel as a means to power the very equipment to run agriculture, humans life on earth is subsidized by petroleum. Self reliance "pre industrial age way of thinking and doing" is about the only way to survive. It is possible to do it, but you have to find a part of the country with the BEST growing conditions "weather, soil, water" to make it possible. Remember, the simpler a way to survive, the more likely you will survive any disaster. Simple means just that, less interference from within, or outside issues. Use the sun for cooking. Use it for heating. Dry your food in solar ovens for winter "dried fruits that do not spoil"
