Met a cute girl, did not know she was a Mormon
bcguy replied to carbon_green's topic in Marriage and Relationship Advice
When I was young, I would occasionally go to church with my parents. But largely, we never went to church on Sundays. We had a LARGE version of the bible with gold leaf that we inherited from the family. I would occasionally read it. But in my mind, there had to be some truth to it. So back then, did believe in its readings and of a deity. We were of another faith then. If you are remotely possibly interested in the church, do not let the missionaries pressure you into getting baptized. Do it on your own clock. I was pressured and it was perhaps something that made me a little angry but also, have forgiven them. Give your self plenty of time to absorb the material. That is what I like about the LDS people they are very very patient. Most members of the church are converts. My bishop, was some one of them. He went to parties when in collage, then met this really nice Mormon gal who he eventually linked up with. He attended church, eventually baptized then eventually was sealed for all eternity to her. I think he is perhaps one of the best bishops I have ever met because he is patient , nice, no pressuring and congenial :) There is one truth about the church that makes us different and that is we firmly believe in family and its values. BTW, nice and sweet personality above looks and the ability to have strong will power to do the right are the best qualities in a man or woman when considering a relationship. Best of luck :) -
We have a member, actually my sister-inlaw who was divorced with three daughters and one son. She married another guy, who her and her husband insially, were introducing to the church. She married him. the marriegs lasted about 2-3 years. She had two more kids with this new person, then separated and divorced. She met this other guy who she had a baby with. She was not married to him. I think she is disfeloshiped but attend the ward with new baby, her kids and her ex husband is in the ward with his kids. We cannot afford to loose more people. Our ward just gets smaller and smaller. I would hate to see all of them not come because she was not allowed to attend. So she still attends with her daughters "my nieces" Unfortunately, another ethnic majority is dominating the area and they are of a completely different religion. We have lots ALOT of members in our ward in the last five years because of move outs.

In the pole, cnn asked if you believed in extraterrestrial life and 85% of the respondents said yes. With billion and billions of suns, how can you NOT believe earth is the only planet to not harbor life? Ancient petrplyps in south America depitc UFO shaped space ships crossing the sky. Aliens have already come and gone. Besides, what if the alien was human like? As far as psychics, I have a had a few revelations, one that let me to seeing the lives of 10s of thousands many people dead days before it happened. So cannot discount that. Wife was a witness to it. If I saw that billboard, I would laugh :) Basically a counter productive use of some ones time.

It is a very sexy car and yes, would love to have it but I wonder if it would spend part of its time in the shop instead of the road. Im a big fan of design and have driven the chrysler 300c. BTW, I wonder how many of these units were produced? If few, it could be worth more then he purchased in about 20 years.

I spent 5 grand, went thought FBI, RCMP and Sheriff back ground check to where I lived since 18 "I was 35 then" and where I worked since that age. It was a real pain to say the least. I am from the state. I am across the border from my home state of Washington. I can say, ship the illegals back to where they came from since I did it legally, why cant the illegals do the same?

A few comments. First of all, I work on cars , trucks and vans since the mid 1990s. This concept will never make it to market for a few good reasons. The production of hydrogen is hideously expensive. It takes large amount of electrical power to electrolyze hydrogen out of water. Second, The fuel cell in its self is also very expensive. Why build something that will radically drive up the cost? BMW has already come out with a 7 series that has a duel fuel system with one of them being hydrogen. Third, Since hydrogen is the smallest molecule in the universe, there is no other compound that is of the same size or smaller to help keep the hydrogen contained within the container. If you do not use the hydrogen in the next three days, for example the bmw, the hydrogen will leak out of the seals. Nothing can be done about it.

I think there are 12 of us family members left in the world with the last name of my dad and with my unusual name, only one of me :) My dads side historically has small families.

I read it and only take the talks of the 70 in a discussion like this as what the LDS leaders would normally say and is nothing new. If the gay community don't like it, then turn off the tv. Mormon leader's remarks spark outcry on same-sex issues – CNN Belief Blog - CNN.com Blogs

I hope she is the right person for him. I hate to see a compatibility issue latter on after marriage then regret it.

I have only met one person who was a woman who had a sex change to be a guy. Thing is, she already has most of the male parts on her so it was obvious to change. I did not know this and confused this person to be a woman. She was a calm person who had no ill intent in changing but had to. In the womb, all fetusus start out as female. It is latter in the gestation cycle, that the male hormones are introduced if it is to be a male. But genetics can be cross altered under rare case and as such, a fetus can be both male and female at the same time.

what is right and what is wrong is black and white. Church as some guidelines to follow. Being the same apt is a no no. LDs church is the most conservative of all faiths bare none. My suggestion, fine a way to live apart for a while. Move in with parents if possible. Do you live in a apartment complex? Move in with a roommate if possible. She can do the same. That way both of you can still possibly visit and live in the same complex.

Well lets see, my sister-inlaw is NOT divorced yet from her second husband, who still attends our ward. Both of them have children, and children from there first marriage. They are separated and both sit on opposite sides of the pews. But now, she has been excommunicated for having a child out of wedlock so she may or may not attend it just depends on her. I would not worry about it. We also have single moms with children. LDS people are really in nature, not to prying of people. I would suggest you visit and sit with the missionaries. Learn as much about the church and its purpose. You will also find that members are life long members and often get help when needed. Case example, a member had to move all his house belongings out of storage to his new place. 14 people from our ward showed up and a moving van. In one hour flat, we had all his belonging from the van and into the house. Amazing.

I suggest you see fireproofmymarrige.com together with your husband. Have the both of you been fighting and getting into arguments? -
This is pretty much proof that humans has evolved from this species. It is a species that is separate from primates and walked on only its feed like us hominids. Also, the oldest known tools were found in Ethiopia. What I find ironic is also this is where the the Ark of the covenant is held. Interesting. Also want to make one more comment. Genetic engineers have traced today's DNA history all the way back to that part of Africa. Every human carries the genetic history of its ancestors. Seems that Ethiopia could very well be where humankind started from. Ardi displaces Lucy as oldest hominid skeleton

You can ask me any mechanical question on cars. It's what I do among many other things but right now, its my main source of income.

Pam, get used to it and appriciate it. At the rate that global warming is warming up the planet, expect to see winters where there may be little snow in the mountains at all. I just watched a discovery tv show about the melting glaciers of iceland and the arctic shelf. It was very disturbing what was happening. Remember, the ice of the north, is North americas airconditioner in the summer "cool water flows south from the arctic down along both coast in the winter" and keeps our weather in check.

Lagugh at the expense of others. I have no issues with it if thay knew what could be the consequences. We had a case of a thief steeling copper. Problem was, he was in a substation steeling wire from a live circuit. Probebly took a while to pry his crispy body from the wire but all well. Airfoce sargent strapps on two stolen Airforce C-130 Jetto jet jet engines onto the side of his 1969 GTO. Half way across the desert floor, lights off the jets. He is instantly pushed in his seat, goes from 120 mph to 250 mph in seconds. Brakes melted. He hits a small hump in the desert floor and goes airborn 1/4 mile into the air and into the side of a cliff. Made a nice hole in the cliff

I remember my step dad was against the church in the beginning but has some to except me and my wife. We don't talk about church or our beliefs while at my moms place unless asked.

Interesting article! Seems the 7th day Adventist may outlive lds. While they share most common life style themes as us such as no smoking, drinking etc, they are vegetarians? I went to a Canada day breakfast celebration at church today. All I saw was pastries, muffins, pancakes sausage and orange juice. no Fruits! other then orange juice! I have never seen physical activities among the middle aged, or talk of food related heath discussions. Who will live to 100? Genes may tell - CNN.com

Take a look at apple stock! If you find a company that has no federal regulation, products that are innovative, cheap to build, no or little competition, small to transport "transport cost would be minimal" then invest in the company!
