  1. Hello just adding my small 2cents member-missionary work should be encouraged from all levels of your ward more active community work also leaders should attend ward missionary meetings to find out whats up with helping the missionaries We had a Ward missionary leader who was always harping on about baptisms when someone mentioned that we should focus on spreading the message(Gospel)and not overly focus on baptism things started to improve where alot more non-members turned up to activities but a lot more members contributed to that in small ways, are number of baptism increased by about 20percent for the year our Ward mission leader was still harping about baptism statisics but I would say alot more people now know about the LDS Church(our ward)in our area I myself still striving to convert myself with the help of the Saviour and live the Gospel:):) Its very simply live the gospel and God sorts out the baptsim:):)

  7. Hello just adding my2cents I believe i am a Christian(I never say out loud to anyone else) because I just like helping others, I try to define my Belief with actions and my faith increases I was brought up too believe "deeds not words" is what defines a person belief/personalty :):)cheers just a brief summary
  8. Hello just had a interesting chat with a friends from Church(LDS) the questioned was asked of me "Am I Christian or Latterday-Saint" well I said Christian i was politely told no I am Latterday-Saint because Christianity is only mentioned once in the bible(Acts) and we(Church) are known as Saints /body of Saints well I wonder are Labels one of the ways that Satan can give a false sense of security to people who wear/like titles in any Church/Organisation I like to call myself Christian even people who :)don't consider me a Christian/LDS I like to just think I am follower of Christ:)
  9. I don't want to speculate on that one it goes way beyond me just wondering Hemi is paradise where he is "mingling with Gods":):) right now
  10. Hello My son who is 5yrs old asked this question to the Stake President the other Sunday about the Prophet"Does Joseph Smith be Judged by Jesus too " well the Stake Pres just smiled said "Jesus Loves everyone" my son turned to me with a smile and said"I don't think he get it" well does anyone "get it" He is very curious he wants too be a Catholic priest (much to the horror of my wife?) so he can turn blood into wine and body into bread just wondering about do the Prophets get judged:):):)
  11. I have 2 boys 3/5 yrs they like to walk with the priesthood when giving sacrament they don't do anything but follow them around some people just stare/look puzzled the Bishop just sits their and smiles at me he informed me few weeks ago that he has no issue with the boys"They march like little soldiers " its interesting how parents react/don't react my daughter always uses peer pressure on the boys if they decide to play up shes only 8 but tries too help me/mum with the boys especial at sacrement but majority of kids are typical loud mouths when they want to be I have found that parenting for me is about instead of reacting to something but being more pro-active towards my kids and kids in general I have my wife too thank for that MO she made me realise its "How the parents react to the kids" I always remember to be practical with my actions including those "silly moments" especially towards my kids and any one elses kids its a lot harder to do than say but thats the fun part

  13. just like to say there are alot of interesting opinions and perspectives towards prayer my sons go to a school(primary level) that are majority are muslim and they have a special area to pray(its a public school)i find these quit humblying and grateful that their are others(including this forum) who like too pray regardless of why/where only God knows their or my heart
  14. Hello i just like too get peoples thoughts about praying in public my family prayed every time we have a meal(at home/public) the other day my family and another member family was at Mcdonalds like usual we prayed but i think it made the other family feel uncomfortable i think it was because other people where watching well my friends wife commented that"we don't need to pray openly" well i thought that was a interesting comment coming from her My Family love to pray anytime anywhere it was something that i was raised up on and counselled to do by my father "son you pray regardless of the situation if you need it" well i hold dear to that council and will continue regardless what others think its my "one on one" with the LORD time:):) If your driving and you need to pray pull over i tried to do it while driving yeah less said about that one:):)

  17. dear Aliasgeorge I always believed we do live in a united order being the Church of JesusChrist of LatterDay -Saints Another point, the law of consecration is not the same thing as the united order. The united order was the practical implementation of the law of consecration in the early days of the church. This united order is no longer practiced, but the law of consecration was never rescinded. Any endowed individual knows that they have promised to live the law of consecration. Do not fool yourselves into believing that it no longer applies to you. You covenanted to obey it. But how it should be applied in our lives without the united order is a totally different discussion. cheers:)
  18. Communism--a System Antithetical to the Gospel of Christ Through the instigation of Marx and Engels, a most successful counterfeit to the united order was introduced into the world. The declaration of principles found in their Manifesto to the World advocated the overthrow of capitalism and free enterprise, the abolition of private property, the elimination of the family as a social unit, the abolition of all classes, the overthrow of all governments, and the establishment of communal ownership of property in a classless, stateless society. All this was to be accomplished by revolution. On July 3, 1936, the First Presidency published this warning to Church members. I quote it in part; I hope you will get a copy of the full statement for your files. In part, the statement reads: . . . Communism is not a political party, nor a political plan under the Constitution; it is a system of government that is the opposite of our Constitutional government. . . . Since Communism, established, would destroy our American Constitutional government, to support Communism is treasonable to our free institutions, and no patriotic American citizen may become either a Communist or supporter of Communism. To our Church members we say, Communism is not the United Order, and bears only the most superficial resemblance thereto. Communism is based upon intolerance and force, the United Order upon love and freedom of conscience and action. . . . Communists cannot establish the United Order, nor will Communism bring it about. . . . Communism being thus hostile to loyal American citizenship and incompatible with true Church membership, of necessity no loyal American citizen and no faithful Church member can be a Communist. We call upon all Church members completely to eschew [and shun] Communism. The safety of our divinely inspired Constitutional government and the welfare of our Church imperatively demand that Communism shall have no place in America. Signed, President Heber J. Grant J. Reuben Clark, Jr. David O. McKay The First Presidency I don't believe this statement about Communism but agree about Socialism is a false ideals practiced Communism does'nt work but their are some examples where it has(communism) worked:)and that it has been practical it isn't a perfect system gee I wonder what the Prophet would think me being LDS and believing in TrueCommunism
  19. Hello I was told that Socialism is about Government/State regulations and the State versus the individual Communism is about group(family/tribe)and the needs of the group wellbeng/economy for survival From my understanding the Law of Consecration is about giving all to God completely without regards to self wether it was property/time I think that Communism would be the closes to the Law of Consecration from my understanding of Communism and that individuals contribute to the greater good of the community just reading about in Moses7-18 and concept of Zion where Saints live together and Corinthian1 12-27/28 working for the purpose of Christ:)

  23. my younger brother was investigating the church a few weeks back and asked the missionaries/Bishop some pretty straight up questions like 1 does the teachings by the missionaries(church) want him to believe in Jesus Christ 2 or do They want to teach about or believe in the book(BOM)and get baptised well being my brother i delt with his questions long ago this was just a quick sample question he said he asked in investigator lessons which he had been having lately could'nt quite fathom what they wanted of him ie baptism or BOM belief or both the Bishop saw me at missionarie meeting and spoke about him alot and mentioned some of the questions he asked he said"they where thought provoking" I thought what did he ask exactly? gee i thought to myself was those questions he asked above "thought provoking"well the bishop/ward mission leader want to meet again with him ASAP but unfortunately he has gone overseas to Afghanistan just left 2 days ago prayefully be back in one piece 12mnths time I suppose i have to find out what he meant :):)
