slots and Lotto are for suckers. The purpose is to provide a source of income for the indigenous people who's land "we" took.

Is that the newest guidelines? I recall them talking about making a movie R rated if it included smoking (unless it was in a historical way). That would make 101 Dalmatians R:eek:

RachelleDrew. But drew is a unisex name so you would still gave problems. Which reminds me. My mother also gave me 2 first names with a hyphen. Without the Hyphen my first names look like the a female name. At my last job my coworkers where disappointed to see a new guy. They where expecting a lady.

You know i don't know if there is any truth to it (and i certainly would not recommend judging an applicant based on their name) but i read somewhere that there is a correlation between a persons name and their type of upbringing.Generally speaking Someone from Harlem NY who was named Tupac, (for example) was more likely to be raised by militant black panther criminal and have a step father on the FBI top ten list, then someone from South Central LA , named Larry, who grew up to be an Attorney, author, radio and tv talk show host. The name didn't make the circumstances but were a reflection of them.

No doubt. variation of my first name combined with the mispronunciation of my last is a disease. Grade school was not fun.

So would that be like the US Government? Supreme Court, Congress, President are different(persons) but together make up one Government? I always hear the water, ice, steam analogy which doesn't send the message that they are distinct

I would say yes, as evident by the fact Bishops take into account the circumstances. Bishop Jones has someone come to him for issue 6 ( seeking a prostitute.) then issue 5 (who cheats and keeps it from their spouse.) then issue 1 (begins to masturbate and develops a bad habit). Chance are he will receive different revelation on what needs to be done in each situation. I don't see why it would be different

I'm no geologist by any means but did you see the death and destruction caused by a "little shaking" in Haiti ? I would guess the earthquakes and volcanic activity require to separate the continents would have killed most if not all the population. There would be historical records from every people in existence at the time of the death. Not to mention the land that we call Israel was no where near the Romans when the land masses were together in one continent.

Where is she located? If i renewed my vows think she would give a discount on a couple massage?:) -
As the one who asked the question I was comparing a watermelon to 1000 grapes. (Though my initial post was not clear as it could be) Plus you yourself "twisted" it As have othersI for one am not influence by the social acceptance, or enforcement. But but the affect is has on others. Violation of the second greatest commandment ( i suppose you could put fornication in their as well but that affects 2 souls,) The drug dealing affects as many as you can supply. Guess we will agree to disagree.

Reading through the laws many say Rabbis, Bishops, Priest, Ministers. I would assume they mean Priest as an equal status to Bishop, Minister, but wonder if the wording would allow an LDS Priest (over 18 of course) to do it. Of course a lot tend to say authorized buy the rules and customs of the governing religious body. But not in Utah Guess it depends on how they define "regular communion" but Elder didn't make the list. It did in Alaska if ministers, rabbis, priest are not in the state. -
Your forgetting 2 things, converts. And your personal taste in alcohol is bad. I heard you "dis" the silver bullet when in fact it was the best American beer (commercial) available when i drank . You can't trust someone else pallet. Even when i was a drinker i would have recommended a vintage 2006, Boone's Strawberry hill;)

From an LDS stand point, being judge on knowledge, works and whether you you have accepted the knowledge if you knew i would say doing is fine without knowledge. As a father i'm much more impressed when my son cleans his room because it needs to be done then when my daughter cleans hers for candy. I don't think it's the doing, or even fully understanding, but the intent.

Which would you consider a worse sin, and why?

I think when the word "Judgmental" is used unrighteous judgment is what comes to mind. -

And Someone who is stoned and keeps it to themselves so they don't hurt anyone, *will be under less condemnation then someone who is so judgmental they hurt their children. *I don't think we are able to measure a persons level of condemnation. -
So the item in question may take away agency, you sale it it so you could somehow be responsible. I see your logic. Hope there are no lds gun store owners, [sarcasm] I would like to take this opportunity to call one of our dearest members to repentance. I understand she worked for a convenient store, and i'm willing to bet that store sold smokes and dip. Some even sell pornography and Alcohol [/sarcasm]

Judgmental. It hurts others and comes from within -

You're not alone. I don't know if it was just stake wide but we actually had a letter read in sacrament about this issue a little while back asking to cut down on the meetings.

I agree with those who say the ratings aren't a good indication of a films value because it is based on pure content, not context. I think it goes both ways. I mean Schindler list is put in the same category as The Hangover or Wedding Crashers if looking purely at the ratings. The messages in these films couldn't be any different.
