  1. You're not a fool, Lindy. You just like to see the good in people! Thanks Shanstress.... I try to convice myself of that.... it's just not working so well right now
  2. I know the mods have their work cut out for them... sad that they have to sift thru so much becasue of the thoughtlessness of some people I have learned, as I am sure many of the older members have.... fool me once- shame on you- fool me twice- shame on me- but fool me three times- I really AM a fool. I don't like feeling foolish Thanks for all the extra work you mods have to do to help the fools such as I stay a little more secure.
  3. "everbrown"? Did you go thru MY PART of Eastern Washington enroute to Utah? You might have drug a tumbleweed or two along underneath your car somewhere

  6. I think you need to talk to a bishop or seminary teacher to help answer that one kiddo.... I really don't know what to tell you.Any bishops, former bishops, seminary teachers in the house here who can help answer that for Mick?
  7. OK OK OK RAY....here's your bowl of rice pudding and a spoon!
  8. Rice Pudding anyone? Cherry Cheesecake? Boston Creme Pie? Death By Chocolate Ice Cream Sundae? Angel Food Cake!!!!! with strawberries and whipped cream!!!!
  9. and in a very small childish voice I say....... "rice pudding....may I have mo please?"
  10. Honey Child, you KNOW I'm going to ask this question. Don't get mad at me, please. As you and many others know, this is the biggest stumbling block I have with issues of faith. Please help me understand why you think your stepbrother got the message from God when the other guy didn't. Was your brother more righteous? Why would God think your stepbrother is anymore deserving of such a warning? Shanstress...have I EVER really gotten mad with you I enjoy you and appreciate you for who you are.. and I think I'll answer yours and SoulSearchers question of at the same time.I am not sure that the other guy didnt' get a warning... or maybe he did and he chose to ignore it. Maybe the warning was "STOP mixing the chemicals" and maybe he just didn't listen until it was too late. I don't know, I never talked to him about it. Sad truth is he wasn't one of my favorite people and I never even thought of going to talk to him in the hospital.
  11. Ray, I understand what you are saying... really I do I feel the same way. Sometimes it's hard to make yourself heard when you KNOW what you feel or KNOW what you heard from the Lord. I understand that you are the type of person who want's to share that knowledge with everyone so that all will know the truths as you know it. ..... LOL I grew up with agnostics... I would have very good discussions on religion with my step brother...and learned to accept his views were his views... and try as I might I couldn't sway him to even contemplate mine.UNTIL there was an incident/accident at the high school... an explosion in the Chem Lab..... he could have been in the middle of it....and as injured as the one mixing the "experiment". As he was standing there... he heard a voice tell him to move away from his friend. to move... move back.... move back NOW. And he listened... and moved back.. ...... he was still blown against the door by the blast, but all he received was loss of hearing for awhile. The other guy was really messed up. As he was relaying the story to me... I told him.... THAT was the Holy Ghost talking to you...THAT is the little voice I was telling you about. I think that is the only insight my brother ever had to what I was talking about and what I felt. He's still agnostic as far as I know.... but there was that little seed of thought planted in his mind that day. Sometimes that's all that needs to be done.... one thought .... than it's up to them to pursue that thought if they want to. I believe that non believers can hear GOD.... and that helps them to help themselves and others. I dont' condemn them for not following up on anything. That is their right...of free choice. Just because people don't believe in the same thing..follow the same rules... doesn't mean they are doomed to follow satan.... Lots of good Non LDS out there Ray... doesn' t mean they are being helped out by satan. Don't know WHERE that rehash of life in the past came from.... but somehow it seemed relevent.
  12. I'll tell you what's better than ice cream... rice pudding! And yes, I know this is off-topic as well, but in a comfort food way :) . I know some LDS have lots of rice in food storage - I did and still do. This is a great way to use it, and tastes SOOO good, especially when it's still slightly warm. (Sounds like a lot of milk to a little rice, but it comes out perfect. I even made it with 1% milk and it was still super-creamy.) http://dessert.allrecipes.com/az/CrmistRicPdding.asp MMMMM rice pudding with cinnamon! and THAN B&J's Cherry Garcia .... in pint with spoon! :)
  13. OK...silence from me has been deafening the tit for tat , the bite and the bait..... I could put up with a lot of it but Ray....when you say I think you should take it VERY seriously.... SS has held back and has been very thoughtful in his posts... sparing a lot of his innermost feelings he could have very easily used as comebacks. he has never tried to be offensive, he has always held himself in check as to what is proper to say on this board... and has conducted himself both as a board member, a non-member, and as a moderator in the standards which were set for everyone on this board. His views are different than yours YES...but that doesn't make them wrong. And if he says he's sorry to anyone he may offended.... he MEANS it. Ok, I'm done with my rant...
  14. Oh my heck.... I had to check that out! Congratulations Jason! Trying to catch up to Bat are you?
  15. Hey Mick...welcome back to the board :) If it makes you feel anybetter, I know that there are a lot of members who go looking for God in other ways, many don't find their way back and they are still out searching, some have found something that they can relate to much bettter somewhere else. As for over thinking some things..... I do the same thing myself. I just learned to stop questioning the things that are going to bring me down. I am a firm believer in "Put it on the back burner" and let the Lord answer it Himself when everything is said and done. As for being mocked....no one should have to go through that... yet, some of the best things in life are worth the agony. You are doing this for you...not anyone else.... good for you! and stand your ground! We are here to help you any way we can. and if it makes sense... I changed wards before to try to find one I was more comfortable in.... I knew I needed to go to church to keep my faith going strong.... and I wouldn't go to a ward where I was very uncomfortable going to. You have to do what you have to do to keep going.
  16. DR T I think it all comes down to what is right and what is wrong. And following the rules. Stinks to have to face the consequences for bad choices..... Or so I am told.....lol
  17. SF... Allmosthumble is right... you ARE an inspiration to so many. You have the courage and strength and faith that would leave many of us in the same situation. Nick is in our hearts as well as our prayers.... he is a miracle, and God willing will continue to be a miracle. I love you for who you are , and more so for everything you are going through, Smiles and Hugs, L.
