  1. O Stale, Ancient, Angry Cookie....I didn't say nothin'! I tried to warn them, but they wouldn't listen. Please don't break my tooth or make my milk sour.
  2. Oh wow, I love Diamond Rio--their distinctive harmony is awesome. I've seen this before and still this song gives me goosebumps. Thanks, Pammie.
  3. Why do you feel you have to be completely open and honest all at once? You may be feeling/thinking that way, but others around you may not be. When you're dealing with romantic relationships, it gets even trickier. Of course there is nothing wrong with expressing your feelings, but I would caution you to keep a rein on it. Not everything at once. I can say that if a guy I were dating were to reveal deep feelings for me and I didn't feel the same way, then it would likely scare me. Not to say that those feelings couldn't be developed on my end, but too much too soon can be overwhelming for some.
  4. So she's old AND green? (just sitting back and waiting for the wrath of the Great Cookie to rain upon the mockers...)
  5. Bert is a product of the streets. He is a rough character (as rough as Disney allowed him to be in a G rated movie). Typically, he would not be allowed near a lady, even to pass her on the street. So, Mary's observations are high praise indeed. She is a lady and recognized as such by all. Bert is not a "gentleman" as defined by the society of the day. He's "common" and therefore, not worthy to be near Mary as his baser instincts are likely to kick in (again, as society thought of fellows such as he).
  6. It's called "Silent Night" and has Linda Hamilton (the Terminator chick) in it. It's set in Germany in WWII and German and American soldiers are in her home with her son and her. It's been on the Hallmark Channel a lot this month.
  7. A couple of traditions that my friends do that I really like are sharing your testimony and unwrapping Jesus. Their family gathers for their Christmas gift unwrapping and before anyone unwraps anything, the Christmas story is read (it would be great for kids to act out the Christmas story). After the scripture reading, each person shares something he/she is thankful for, which inevitably turns into a testimony. The Spirit is really strong as each member hears and encourages the other during this time (FYI, they are non-LDS). Then on Christmas morning, the first gift that is unwrapped is a small baby Jesus that mom wrapped and placed in the tree. It is to remind everyone of the gift that Jesus was to the world from our Father. I think that would be an appropriate time to read the Christmas story from the Bible or the Book of Mormon.
  8. The recipes for curry looks easy, but has many uncommon ingredients. Unless you plan on using lemongrass or shrimp paste again, I would suggest visiting a local Oriental market and find a packaged one. I found one at a Japanese market and it was great.
  9. Wow, you should be commended for your restraint. I'm not going to commend you, but you should be. I'd rather you let loose.
  10. Oh my word. I'm serious. I want to understand if I'm doing it when I'm talking with my girl friends. And I would like to stop it if the girls are doing it.
  11. Ah, but Pammie, ya gotta have the signs! I have signs on sticks that said "Nudist on Strike" and "Say No to Skin!" I was a little concerned about scabs crossing the picket line.......
  12. Nope, because I'll be in Hawaii during Conference. I think this will be the first year that I won't actually watch any conference due to our traveling. Boy, am I grateful for BYU TV and the Ensign.
  13. Nope, this is not a thread to actually bash men. So, please play nice. I was wondering from the dudes here what it means to you the term "men bashing." I don't think I do this, but I do talk about guys. There are some things that most men have in common, but now I'm wondering if my comments would be considered bashing. So, what is it that women say/do that you consider to be bashing?
  14. What did I love? Anything chocolate (the good stuff, not the generic kind). I actually don't have kids come to my house for Halloween--ok, let me clarify--I get about 5 kids (literally, I counted one year). So instead I dress up for work and get the good stuff to pass out (we trick or treat at work). I'm struggling to think of a costume this year. Last year, I went as a nudist on strike.
  15. Oh, and next time you go to Canada to get your formal dressed chips, please accept the assignment to find out what the freak they actually are and how they are different from American chips. And then return and report. thanks
  16. Because you never learned the art of scoping out the treats at the different houses. Takes a lot of willing investigators to sacrifice their ability to hit all the good houses because they may get a bad neighborhood that gives you one Dum-Dum instead of a full size candy bar or snack bags of chips.
  17. Oh, now hang on....that changes EVERYTHING. Now you have to grow it out into long, luxurious locks which will flow into perfectly made curls as you slowly take off the hard hat and swing your hair.
  18. Wow, Iggy, that's just horrible. The #1 song when I was baptized was "Faith" by George Michael.
  19. Excuse me, what what the flip are all dressed potato chips? Does this mean we all eat naked potato chips? Or maybe swimwear potato chips? Just a dumb American asking about crazy Canuck snack habits.........
  20. Ok, so did the hairstylist completely butcher your hair or something? You haven't responded to the prompt to show us pics. Let me help: WE WANT TO SEE WHAT YOU DECIDED! WE PROMISE TO PROVIDE SUFFICIENT OOHHHs AND AAAHHHHs TO FLATTER YOU COMPLETELY!!!!!
  21. Wait, I thought this thread was about grumpy people finding joy in their life. Guess I'll just move on and take my cheer to another thread......

I thought for sure that this thread was about the town in Australia wanting single women...but only ones that meet their requirements.
  23. Two things helped me with my budget. First and foremost was get out of debt. I read a lot of books from the library on the best way to get out of debt (the LDS church has info on this as well). I took a little from everyone to come up with a plan that worked for me (I used Dave Ramsey and Suzie Orman the most). Then once that happened, I automated as many bills as possible. For the majority of my bills, I can choose the day for it to be taken from my checking account, which helped when I looked at other bills. My mortgage bill (the largest) is paid with the last check of the month. Therefore, I had most of my other bills taken from my first check of the month. That eliminated me having to worry about missed deadlines. I'm not sure where you are in your financial quest, but just something to think about.
  24. I completely agree with this. I did this...cost me a lot of money, but I only used her that one time to get a professional opinion on style and color. Then I found my current hairdresser who just trimmed it (until I was ready for another style). If there is anyone you know that has nice hair (from work, church, neighbors, family, etc.) ask them where they get it done. Then check them out. Or look on the internet/magazine for your town's best voted hair salon. They will name a few that you can call/check out. You can call to get prices and that will allow you to decide if you want to spend it then or save for it (depending on your financial situation).
  25. Nuh uh. Seriously? Or are you basing this on 2-3 chicks you asked?
