  1. It wasn't fake actually...okay, it was semi-fake. But the person who did it was from Quebec and a native French-Canadian speaker.
  2. Let me give you a small fact. Bloc Quebecois, they ran in one province, won 10 percent of the popular vote. They got 55 seats The Green Party, ran in all of Canada, won 7 percent of the popular vote. No seats.
  3. Perhaps we should rename Spirit Prison "The Theological Academy for Cadavers?" Aka, Spirit School.
  4. What channel can we find it on? Some of our Christmas traditions include: Reading the Christmas story in Luke Going out on Christmas eve to do a secret service activity Going to sing carols for someone and lastly Gorging ourselves on food.
  5. May I point a key factor in regards to Christ's physical appearance: While some of his DNA would've come from Mary, a lot of it would have been made up from what God himself created. It is quite possible that he would have looked very distinct because of this. Who knows what God shaped and molded him to look like?
  6. $300 million dollars down the drain only to find out that the only clear winner in the opposition is the Bloc Quebecois....which wants to seperate from Canada...typical... When will someone step forward, without personal ambition, tell all sides to kindly shut the hell up, and focus on getting this nation through the economic turmoil of the next few years? When will we get a leader, or a party worthy of our votes? I have a sinking suspicion I'll be waiting for a while. Sorry for the language.
  7. Yup, we're based on the British parliamentry system, God save the Queen and all the stuff ole chap.
  8. Legally yes. You may not like it, but since only a portion of 'the people' elected this they don't have the legal power, nor right to stop it.
  9. What I said is not an attack on the people dieing for their beliefs, nor for the zeal or faith they showed that lead them to martydom. It's just cold hard fact that I was stating. It's like if someone stated a piece of fact about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and someone were to say, "On the other hand, this is the same doctrine that Joseph Smith and the saints suffered and died for." Regardless of people's belief in something that doesn't remove fact. Not to demean the martyrdom of the Huguenots, nor any other demoniation of any other religion.
  10. True, but remember that Orthodox Christianity was formulted by numerous councils attended by philosophers, scholars, bishops of conflicting ideas, the first few and most famous being presided over by a pagan emperor.
  11. Am I the only one who read all that and said: What? Sorry, I'm sure you have a serious position....but I just need it explained better.
  12. I've always said....invest in nonperishable food items....one day people will realise that you can't eat shiny metal...
  13. Uhh, the number 3 is spelt tree in Canada. Duh. What you call a tree in the US of A is what we call 'Food'.
  14. Here's a tidbit for you. My best friend's grandpa founded the polygamist group up here in Canada. In fact...I dated a girl who was taking the lessons...her dad had tree wives.
  15. As we approach the Christmas season we must always remember the fact that despite divisions of nationality, faith, ethnicity that we are all sons and daughters of the same Father, one race, one people. This movie illustrates this perfectly, it is about the Christmas truce of 1914, a spontaneous peaceful meeting between soldiers on opposing sides in WWI. Here are some scenes from it, I suggest you all watch it, it is one of the most powerful Christmas movies I've ever seen. YouTube - WWI Scots and German opera singing. Joex Noel French Movie! YouTube - "Joyeux Noel" - grand scene from the movie YouTube - WWI Scots and German opera singing. Joex Noel French Movie!
  16. May I point out that playing Rome: Total War helped me get 98% on the History SAT? I actually knew about some obscure Roman soldier who almost seceded the entirety of Spain from the republic pre-empire....weird huh.
  17. I was ordained an elder and was recieved into the Order of the Son of God. The ordination was in and of itself amazing, with my friend later asking if, when he recieves the Melchezidek Priesthood if I could ordain him....which is huge considering we've been kind of fighting for the past while.
  18. We're just waiting till you guys let your guard down. Then the invasion of maple leafs begin. But seriously, yes, developing nuclear power can be expensive. But overall it is far cheaper, and repays itself far quicker than one might expect. The reason people fear it is chiefly due to incidents such as Chernobyl. Now, Chernobyl happened for a number of reasons which could have been easily avoided, and wouldn't have happened in a developed country. As for hydro? I love the stuff, a huge chunk (I think it's the majority, but I don't have the inclination to find anything official on it right now) of British Columbia is run on it. To make it better the government has ended its monopoly on the power industry and has allowed for privitization. The dam in our area was bought by a local man I know, and it has allowed much more competative ratings, and prices.
  19. Don't get me wrong, the process was already underway. It was underway in Germany even before Hitler came to power. What I'm trying to differentiate is the time when freedoms are being attacked to when they are actually dead. Even Hitler put up with some facade of arguement in the Reichstag before outright banning all other parties.
  20. Sorry to hijack your question for a sec Peter, just wanted to ask a quick question. What's the position of most Church members, the First Presidency, the Stake Presidency, their friends, their friend's relatives, and their dogs on BC? Cus honestly....I'm not sure if I want a honeymoon baby....
  21. It makes me wonder if the United States is heading the same way Germany was under the Weimar Republic...sure you guys aren't paying reparations to other countries, but in a sense you're being forced to pay money for the mistakes of business corporations and unconstitutional federal institues. Eventually, (And I know some of you think it's Obama...I still don't think it's gotten to that point yet to compare the man to Hiter) some person in the future, promising huge changes in the economic system will be elected. In order to create prosperity and order this person will chip away at the fundamental freedoms of the Union. To quote Star Wars: So this is the way democracy ends, admist thundering cheering. (Just paraphrasing that). The descent into modern totilitarianism is a gradual process whereby people give up liberty for comfort. It happened in Italy, and Germany and numerous other countires. (I won't include Russia, or China in that list because one kind of totilitarianism was merely replaced by another)
