Welcome! :-) -
I know of one that was written from a child's perspective called "I Walked to Zion: True Stories of Young Pioneers on the Mormon Trail" by Susan Arrington Madsen. Here is the description from deseretbook.com : What did pioneer children do for fun? What did they fear as they crossed the plains? What was it like for someone who traveled without parents? Many books have been written about the westward journey of the early latter day saints — often called one of the greatest epics in American history. In most of these descriptions however, children and teenagers are rarely seen and almost never heard. I Walked to Zion looks at this migration from the perspective of young people who experienced the great exodus. Susan Arrington Madsen, author of The Lord Needed a Prophet, has collected actual accounts of thirty young people (under the age of twenty) who were members of Mormon wagon trains and handcart companies. You'll hear their voices through their recollection found in journals and autobiographies. B. H. Roberts describes how he and his sister traveled from England as virtual orphans until they joined their mother in Utah. Fanny Fry tells of her fear when she was nearly crushed to death by a heavily loaded handcart. I bought the book because one of my great grandmothers, Lucy Hannah White was one of the 30 children in the book. I loved the book because of it's incredible stories.

I have to agree with TomK. He wrote and said many things, but one stands out in my mind....his testimony of Christ in the form of a hymn. This hymn moves me to tears almost every time I hear or sing it. I can honestly say that I can not remember a single time that I have sung this song that I did not have a burning witness in my soul as to the true nature of our Savior! I believe in Christ; he is my King! With all my heart to him I’ll sing; I’ll raise my voice in praise and joy, In grand amens my tongue employ. I believe in Christ; he is God’s Son. On earth to dwell his soul did come. He healed the sick; the dead he raised. Good works were his; his name be praised. I believe in Christ; oh blessed name! As Mary’s Son he came to reign ’Mid mortal men, his earthly kin, To save them from the woes of sin. I believe in Christ, who marked the path, Who did gain all his Father hath, Who said to men: "Come, follow me, That ye, my friends, with God may be." I believe in Christ—my Lord, my God! My feet he plants on gospel sod. I’ll worship him with all my might; He is the source of truth and light. I believe in Christ; he ransoms me. From Satan’s grasp he sets me free, And I shall live with joy and love In his eternal courts above. I believe in Christ; he stands supreme! From him I’ll gain my fondest dream; And while I strive through grief and pain, His voice is heard: "Ye shall obtain." I believe in Christ; so come what may, With him I’ll stand in that great day When on this earth he comes again To rule among the sons of men.

Has Lds Talk Had A Positive Influence On Your Life?
Vanilla replied to Heather's topic in General Discussion
I stumbled into the LDSTALK chatroom 7 1/2 years ago. I had been inactive for over 12 years and did not have any LDS friends. I wanted a place to chat with LDS people, in a non threatening way to try and "ease" back into the church. In the chat room, I "met" among others, Pam, Josie, Colleen, and Ben Raines. Ben always gave me great advice and encouragement as I started going back to church. Another person I met in the chat room was Giggles. Giggles lived in NC and after we had chatted for a while, we figured out that we were a lot alike and started calling each other twin. Once when I was going through a difficult time she called me on the phone and our friendship developed from there. After a few months, we took our first of many vacations together. She became my kindred spirit, confidant, twin and best friend. She has been by my side through the good times, bad times, and every step of the way as I became active and was with me in March when I went through the Temple to receive my endowments. I would certainly consider her friendship and influence in my life a positive and thinking about it now, would say that I owe you a debt of gratitude Heather for providing us a chatroom to meet in. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
