Do we know why? Its politics. Being born and raised in Oregon, I can tell you that most Oregonians love their way of thinking. Who knows what the future of attendants pumping gas, but I can tell you they will never get a sales tax passed in Oregon. I loved it when I lived in Vancouver Washington - no income tax, and shop in Oregon to avoid the sales tax. Just accross the Columbia River! LOL. Cha CHing! Arizona needs all of these little perks! I could soooo get into having someone else pump the gas, especially late at night when you really don't want to get out of your car. I have a cousin that lives in Vancouver and he loves it for the same great reasons!

She was blonde! -a-train This made me laugh out loud so loud that I had to share it with some co-workers!

I urgently needed a few days off work, but I knew the Boss would not allow me to take a leave. I thought that maybe if I acted 'CRAZY' then he would tell me to take a few days off. So I hung upside down on the ceiling and made funny noises. My co-worker (who's blonde) asked me what I was doing? I told her that I was pretending to be a light bulb so that the Boss would think I was 'CRAZY' and give me a few days off. A few minutes later the Boss came into the office and asked 'What are you doing ?' I told him I was a light bulb. He said 'You are clearly stressed out. Go home and recuperate for a couple of days'. I jumped down and walked out of the office. When my co-worker (the blonde) followed me, the Boss asked her, 'And where do you think you're going?' She said, 'I'm going home too, I can't work in the dark.' :-)

Three comments for you mama.... #1 There is a huge chance that those missionaries left little brothers and sisters (or nieces and nephews) behind at home that they miss greatly, so getting to spend time with your son really is a bright spot in their day as well. #2 I am sure this warms the heart of every poster here who has a son/daughter/brother/sister/niece or nephew on a mission. It is nice to know that someone is taking the extra time to show kindness to these great missionaries. I know you are probably still learning stuff from them every time they visit, but it seems you go the extra mile to make the missionaries feel special, and in turn, that makes you even more special! #3 That is so cool that you made that commitment on the spot, I'm sure it wasn't altogether easy, but I know that there will be blessings for following the word of wisdom! Does the smell of fresh coffee ever tempt you?

Might also be kidney stones, (very painful). Hope all is back to normal with him very soon! For 06/06/07 High: FINALLY got two more positions at work approved for our overworked department! SUPER HIGH: GREAT nephew number 28 made a spectacular entrance into this life after only 20 minutes of labor on his mother's part! LOW: Due to the incredible highs of today, the lows have been cancelled!

That is an awesome quote and great advice!!! Holy!!!!! 2-3 hrs/day. You must be a super mormon. Nope, not super at all, I just have a past that I dont want creeping into my life ever again! Yeah, I understand that. NEVER AGAIN!!! That is an incredible amount of time! So would you consider listening to church music in the car part of your 2-3 hours? And AMEN to NEVER AGAIN!!!!!

Okay, I will pick up this thread and go with something you said... Can you explain exactly what happened when you shorted? Thank you for catching that Yediyd! I thought most people here would have caught it, but maybe they just didn't find it as funny as I did! I have never had a pedicure! I used to have a co-worker that had a pot-bellied pig named Jade. He used to take her to get her "heels" done all the time and he would say that he was taking her for her PETicure!

I bet you looked hot in a white suit and shirt opened to the waist!

High: Spending time with my sister who is visiting from out of state. Low: Finding out one of my oldest friends has stage two breast cancer.

Everyone that calls me is treated to about 30 seconds of "It's my life" by Bon Jovi. A few months ago I had to leave a message at the Temple so when they called back, they were also treated to the same. I missed the first call and they had to call a second time. A few days later I realized that they were listening to Bon Jovi in the Temple. :-)

I could not agree with you more on the music comment! Music did attain perfection in the 80's with groups like Aerosmith, Def Leppard, Bryan Adams, Foreigner, Journey, AC/DC, UB40, Squeeze, Billy Squire, INXS, Huey Lewis, Pat Benitar, Heart and (saving the best for last...) BON JOVI Other music I enjoy: Bands from the 70's: Fleetwood Mac, Eagles, Steve Miller Band, and the Doobie Brothers. Jazz: Sarah Vaughn Country: Martina McBride, Don Williams, Emmylou Harris, Alan Jackson, and Wynona New Age: Yanni and David Lanz Musical Soundtracks: Phantom of the Opera, Aida, Rent and Wicked and from more recent years: Maroon 5 and Norah Jones As for this comment, we were thinking we were tres cool, and who wouldn't feel cool while wearing neon colors, parachute pants, fingerless lace gloves, leg warmers, jelly shoes, mesh shirts, stirrup pants, sweater vests over shirts, zipper ankle jeans, rubber bracelets, friendship bracelets, off the shoulder shirts, sweaters tied around the waist, swatches and don't forget, swatch protectors???

*LOL* Glad someone else questioned that! Come on Ben, tell us about that waveless water! I would be sitting at a outdoor cafe in the middle of Rome eating two scoops of gelato...one chocolate and the other pineapple. Why? Because that is the best flavor to mix with chocolate that I tried! :-) (Second best combo was strawberry and chocolate)

Outshined, I feel exactly the same way. Know that many will keep you and all of your military brothers and sisters in our prayers.

After Much Needed Therapy The Answer Has Finely C
Vanilla replied to Winnie G's topic in General Discussion
I read this earlier this morning and it honestly brought tears to my eyes...and then I had to pass it on to all of my female friends, many of which have called or replied saying that they too had laughed until they cried! It would not be so funny if it wasn't 100% true, right down to the wadded up tissue! -
These are great a-train! :-)

*rolling eyes* Oh please, everyone knows that our dances END at midnight! Why is it so hard to get the facts straight? *LOL*

Sorry to hear that it is causing you so much pain Dr. T. My mother's youngest sister was diagnosed in the late 70's and my father's youngest brother was diagnosed with it in the mid-80s, so I have seen MS up close and personal. It does sound promising that your neurologist says that (you look 100% better) when you see him, I hope that your "normal" days far out-number your days spent in pain.
-
They changed the time of the show and I only caught the reception scenes. What was with the whip as a gift? *LOL* That guy was seriously going to take him out and beat him up!

I do this one about 10 times a day, but it is because she is in the next office over and sometimes the things that we can both "overhear" in our department are pretty funny, but not meant to be that way, so if we e-mail back and forth, we can laugh without being obvious! The rest were very funny as well, thanks for the laugh!!!

That was too cute ALmom! I don't know if you have checked the Sally Deford Music site, but there is a version of O My Father that is sung to the tune of Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing...you can print the sheet music from the site and even listen to it there as well. It is such a beautiful arrangement. It is a hymn, so you won't have to get permission from your Bishop. I sang one of her songs in church a few months ago and when I asked my Bishop about using one of her songs, he didn't even ask which one, just approved it after hearing her name. Go check out her site, listen to all of her stuff, she has arrangements of some hymns and her own stuff that is great! This is the link to her site: (Pick Choral or solo/duet from the drop down menu on the right side) http://www.defordmusic.com and this is the link to O My Father: http://www.defordmusic.com/comethoufountomyfather.htm This is the song she wrote that I sang in church, it is a beautiful song, but more along the subject lines of Jesus Christ or Testimonies: http://www.defordmusic.com/thisishowiknow.htm Good Luck!
