You though asking for 'moisture' made you cringe.
talisyn replied to Dravin's topic in Current Events
Bet they got it all wrong and it's actually a Rain Goddess No wonder they aren't getting any moisture! -
I found another weirdly phrased sentence on the back of a Tony's pizza box (not a headline, I'm taking a break from the news today ): "For food safety and quality cook before eating to an internal temperature of 160'F." Why not "For food safety and quality cook to an internal temperature of 160'F before eating"? It suddenly occurs to me, maybe it's a translation issue? I know Spanish sentences are structured differently from English sentences...Maybe I've been unjustly harsh all this time..

haha that was very clever of your daughter!

I thought it was pretty good too I took my daughter to it, thinking it might interest her more than the others and I was right. I was wrong about her reaction to what happened to Dumbledore. She never read the book and barely watched the movies but she got a bit teary (like me lol). On the plus side she wants me to read the next book to her so she can see the reasons why that stuff happened in the movie.

What I read was some CBS guy was going to be honored at Walter Cronkite's funeral. Yes Mr. Cronkite was a CBS guy, but the headline made it sound like it could have been any CBS guy Funeral to Honor CBS Newsman Walter Cronkite Was that so hard?

I don't recall the church saying anything about prop 102..Prop 8 yes, but 102? Sorry. It's hard to be different. Remember high school? Or maybe you were the popular one so you wouldn't know lol. The thing about church is we expect people to be more because we know we should be more. Some people just aren't at that point of spirituality yet, so we must make allowances. I'm a Democrat in very conservative S. Idaho, yet I have never heard a political discussion in church or at church activities. I recommend telling your bishop the political overtones of church is wreaking havok on your testimony and hopefully he'll take steps to stop it.

It said 'Walter Cronkite's funeral to honor CBS newsman'. My mom asked who they wanted to honor at Walter Cronkite's funeral. I thought it was a good question. I mean, a guy's funeral is suppose to be about him, not some other guy, right? I've read other 'questionable' headlines before, but this one was the straw that broke the camel's back

I was looking through the web and found this article Walter Cronkite's funeral to honor CBS newsman - Yahoo! News I looked at it..looked at it some more..and realized the way some news organizations are saving money is by hiring monkeys for proof readers. Anyone else notice the same thing?

Ummm..asking cingular wireless people to fix a billing problem they caused? Rachelle, I'm glad your husband has seen the light. I hope he continues on the right path. I also hope that these past months have shown you how strong you can be

Anyone else here that thinks money can solve A LOT of problems ?

If I had enough money I'd hire a maid. Thus, more money would make me very happy -
Haha I'm glad I'm not the only one that eats m&ms according to color, and I eat the 'bad' colors first so I can savor the 'good' colors. My worst OCD though is if I start to read something I absolutely must finish it, even if it's the worst book ever. If I hate it I'll skip every 20 pages or so but I will know how it ends!

I hope all goes well, and you don't feel like this sermon was directed solely towards you...but then again that would show how special you are, not many people have sermons written for them Pray a lot about this, if you get the feeling you shouldn't go then don't-we have the gift of the Holy Ghost for a reason

When should a country consider deadly force against it's citizens?
talisyn replied to talisyn's topic in Current Events
I was talking about a large, well-armed and organized segment of the Mexican population that has shown willingness to break laws, kill enforcers of those laws, infiltrate/bribe/intimidate members of gov't and military and police force, and kidnap and kill civilians on both sides of the border. I honestly don't see how Mexico is going to survive this without using drastic force, and once that little genie is let out of the bottle it's going to be very hard to get it back inside. -

I agree, the gov't should have that much power...but citizens have a responsibility to uphold their gov't, esp with the laws that are to the benefit of the people. When those who are clearly using unrighteous dominion over the people are getting positions of power doesn't the gov't have the right to protect the law-abiding citizens? -

The drug cartels are actively trying to bring down the gov't, gaddianton-style. It's an outright rebellion, if not an act of war, and I don't understand why the Mexican gov't doesn't call it that. -
lol buyer's remorse is showing through. I think all the names are good. There has been a trend in the past decade for girl's names to go back to tradition after those years of 'creative spellings', hence all the Emmas and Olivias and Jennifers. Allison is a good, solid name. I have a suggestion though, before doing anything drastic. Go through a whole day calling your baby Chaelee 'Chaelee', as if that is the name she should have. After doing this for one full day do it the next day, then the next for a whole week. You must do this with your whole heart, no little tingles of regret. If after a week it still feels like you have a changeling then by all means change the name to Allison. IMHO, Chaelee is just plain cool! But then I named my daughter Genie so I'm kind've biased

ok that was weird. never try to edit when your pc is laggy

Stealing a kiss would not get someone escorted off church property, homo or hetero or what not. I do think it was innocent(ish). If it was staged we would have seen the footage from someone videotaping it by now.

I found an article worth checking out...
talisyn replied to AllenGlines's topic in General Discussion
I think they got sued by the movie studios because they were 'changing content'. Apparently to some people foul language is integral to the plot....idiots If there is an official LDS church channel I hope it's better than what I get with KBYU on Direct TV. Occasionally there are good programs, but you have to be able to stay awake for them I'm not talking about production values or splashy effects, what I'd like to see is better writing lol. -
Could YOU Live Polygamy During Your Lifetime?
talisyn replied to Carl62's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
If I received revelation that I personally had to be involved then yes I would..however my husband would not be allowed to marry a cute Japanese girl with a schoolgirl uniform. Not gonna happen -
I hate to ask this but is there any reason you might think your husband would prefer the company of more than one woman? I really really hate asking that but your post sounds much more 'earthly' worried than 'afterlife' worried.
