If someone in the US does not have money they can get state medical coverage as Medicaid. This is state by state funded with supplemental funding coming from the US government. Quality of care may very some but all doctors are required to be licensed physicians. The very wealthy can always afford the best doctors and best facilities. There are some who choose not to have medical coverage. Those who are young, with few assets, realize that the govt will step in and pay their bills if something happens. There is reported abuse in all types of coverage. Most abuse is by corrupt physicians and patients. Most of this is done in billing and overcharging or charging for services not given. I would favor a medical plan that covered children to the age of 18. It would be no different than the coverage we give senor citizens with Medicare. Just a thought Ben Raines

For those who don't know if you pay your tithing in stock, it can be done, as soon as it hits the church account it is sold. Not sure of the stock portfolio of the church but I do know that shares transferred to the church are immediately liquidated. Ben Raines

Someone once reminded me that it is "The House of The Lord" and he invites us to attend/visit, his house as often as we would like. I love going to the House of the Lord and visit his house. Ben Raines

I think I read most of the posts here. I don't recall reading one where someone said "Have the two of you prayed about it and sought an answer to your decision?" Remember the way to seek answer to prayer is not to ask "What should I do" but to make a decision and then seek confirmation from the Lord. Good luck, Ben Raines

First question is "How old are you?" Next is "Are you ready to put it all behind you?" I find it hard to believe as a parent that any parent could or would completely cut off a child from contact. I have heard of it happening but find it hard to believe. Ben Raines

If you don't believe that the scriptures give us a way to know truth as you have mentioned through personal revelation how would you go about finding truth? I think it is James 1:5 in the scriptures that give us our guidance in how to know faith based truths. Ben Raines

I would say it extends to all. All are our brothers and sisters. Best teaching of this is King Benjamin in the Book of Mormon as he teaches his people. For those who care to argue I am not saying better than Christ's teachings I am saying I like the way King Benjamin says it. Ben Raines

I have been a licensed stockbroker for over 20 years. I have never "played" the market. I have invested in it and helped many others invest in it. At one time I managed over 80 million dollars of investor assets. Investing in stocks is buying a piece of ownership in a company. Buying stocks because someone says they like it or because you heard that it was up 100% in the last period of time is not investing. That is gambling. But I am curious what this has to do with R rated movies. I didn't read the whole thread. Ben Raines

A talk was given a couple of years ago, I believe by President Monson, while a counselor to President Hinkley. He talked of too busy lives, body modifications, etc. Counseled against, to learn to love ourselves for who we are but not by way of commandment, just counsel or advice. Ben Raines

As I understand it the purpose of eternal families are the blessings that come of being sealed or born in the covenant. Not to live together, be owned by, etc. Purpose of sealing power is the blessing that comes from such sealing. I agree with those who posted earlier that is is not about living together but being connected as an eternal family. I have four grown children. In this life they are still my children. In the eternity they too will have been my children and will be entitled to blessings that come through my faithful living and obedience to my temple covenants. Ben Raines

I know of the stuff we killed and ate on the farm there was nothing strangled. We did pull the chickens heads off but it was so fast that it was not strangulation but decapitation. All the rest of the animals were either shot and killed or had throats cut. Ben Raines

Same as JD. Blessing of comfort in last days or moments but not a release blessing. Gave one to my mom in her final stages of cancer. Not much different than any other blessing of comfort. Not a blessing that annointing is used for just a priesthood blessing. Ben Raines

In Idaho some men wear suits, some wear shirts, ties and slacks. It all depends. Depends more on age than economic conditions. Older men wear suits younger men, some, wear slacks. There are those who are long time Boise residents that come in their jeans and casual shirt. They are well received and participate in all meetings. Ben Raines

I lived on a small island in the Caribbean for a few years. We had people come to church in just about anything but a swimsuit. None were turned away. During the four years I was their I never wore a suit or a coat. Long sleeve white shirt, tie and khakis. High heat, high humidity and no A/C. Ben Raines

The numbers I have heard in meetings are 1/2 or total rolls regularly active and one half of those temple recommend holders or attenders. I believe the number now is something like 90% of church membership live within one hour of a temple. Ben Raines

Driving: How about those drivers who pass you and with no one else on the road pull right back in front of you as soon as they pass. Very unsafe. Pass me by 5 car lengths and then pull back in. Ben Raines
