Happy Birthday Estump And Kevin B!
Setheus replied to StrawberryFields's topic in General Discussion
So why the name change? Jason. -
Why is it so strict? Because we are dealing with the laws of eternity and the ways of an eternal God. The church has taught that everything has a consiquence. Even good deeds have a consiquence. Science even backs this up. Gravity, if you walk off a cliff you will fall. If you stand too close to the edge of the cliff the dirt starts to give way, then you're sliding, slowly at first and if you don't leap for safety you start to slide faster and faster until you are out of control. You might get lucky and find a branch to catch onto to stop you from the certain death from falling the rest of the way but you can't get back up from where you are without help. This is why it is so strict. Because if we allow ourself to walk the edge we run the very real risk of slipping. And falling to spiritual death. For those who happen to find a "branch" before going all the way over the edge there is help, in the form of repentence (and even moving away from the edge before slipping can be viewed as repentance for lesser sins) Even on what we think is solid ground and won't break apart from under us if we go to the edge has its dangers. What if a strong wind gusts or you find the ground is wet and slippery? These represent unexpected dangers of not being strict and staying away from the edge. Strict can be a very good thing. I speak only of morality and spirituality. I don't think life needs to be rigid in all aspects. I jump out of perfectly good planes and swim with bombs for a living. B)

I think it is a good idea to make sure everyone is teaching the same thing the same way. If you teach one soldier Isralie room entry tactics and another American room entry tactics etc you'll have chaos and the job won't get done and you might hurt or get killed your own guys. Both tactics are superb and when done correctley quite lethal BUT when everyone involved uses the same tactics it just flows. It goes as planned. This is why I think a standard manual is a good thing and the "inspiration" part should be comming from the one being taught in that they are inspired by the Spirit of the Lord to know the truth when it is presented to them.

Heavenly Homemaker, is your Avatar constipated?

When the will abandons what is above itself and turns to what is lower, it becomes evil -- not because that is evil to which it turns, but because the turning itself is wicked. Therefore it is not an inferior thing which has made the will evil, but it is itself which has become so by wickedly and inordinately desiring an inferior thing.

"And it was made clear to me that all things are good even if they are corrupted. They could not be corrupted if they were supremely good; but unless they were good they could not be corrupted. If they were supremely good, they would be incorruptible; if they were not good at all, there would be nothing in them to be corrupted. For corruption harms; but unless it could diminish goodness, it could not harm. Either, then, corruption does not harm--which cannot be--or, as is certain, all that is corrupted is thereby deprived of good. But if they are deprived of all good, they will cease to be. For if they are at all and cannot be at all corrupted, they will become better, because they will remain incorruptible. Now what can be more monstrous than to maintain that by losing all good they have become better? If, then, they are deprived of all good, they will cease to exist. So long as they are, therefore, they are good. Therefore, whatsoever is, is good. Evil, then, the origin of which I had been seeking, has no substance at all; for if it were a substance, it would be good. For either it would be an incorruptible substance and so a supreme good, or a corruptible substance, which could not be corrupted unless it were good. I understood, therefore, and it was made clear to me that thou madest all things good, nor is there any substance at all not made by thee. And because all that thou madest is not equal, each by itself is good, and the sum of all of them is very good, for our God made all things very good."

X-man Jason, You know I'm just picking on you. I just would like to see a "happy" post from you sometime. Seems like of your not in a debate you're talking about how negitive something is. Cheer up! Every second brings us closer to death........and God!

What does my observation of your "Grumpy Bear" attitude and gloomy disposition have to do with faith? But as a person I'm sure you're smashing!

I can't wait to hear your review of Heaven. "bla bla bla, moan whine complain. But, the angels playing their harps was as usual good for putting me to sleep on my new cloud bed. I though it would be warmer here. Turns out its only a comfortable 76degrees. All of my pets are here, except for my favorite one. I guess all dogs don't go to heaven. And without my favorite pooch, is this really "paradise"? bla bla bla , moan whine complain. And don't forget cut down and/or belittle. If you're not into being let down I'd suggest you hold off on the suicide and really try hard not to die or be murdered. Just stick it out until the rapture." We can always count on you for an up-beat, opptimisitc post Jason.

B) Don't let history only speak of Lindy...Join her ladies! Fight the good fight! Guys, you help too.

Setheus: Its the name of a guardian angel who along with another angel Remiel, watch over a troubled soul who goes by Vittorio. In the story Vittorio goes through extreamly depressing and exausting trials and at last becomes the thing he hates most. As his punishment Vittorio is given the "gift" of being able to see "the light" in all of us, which is the light of Christ. Even the very spirit of a living thing. And whenever Vittorio takes a life, he has to watch the light dim and finally go out. I chose this name for two reasons. The first (which is the reason an "angel" theme came to me) was when I was in the middle east the first time an elderly woman kept calling me and my team mates "Her beautiful angels off a canvas" which she spoke in Arabic. The last day I saw that woman I had our translator give her a quote for me, "If I'm an angel, paint me with black wings". I'll leave the meaning behind that for you to ponder. The second reason I chose the name Setheus is from watching all of the death. I can't see "the light of Christ" in the people around me but I know its there all the same. And I watch as "vittorio's" kill each other and even though we all know that this is bad, it still goes on like a march. I like to hope that with my knowledge of the Savior I can refer to myself as Setheus or Remiel instead of Vittorio.

Death is nothing but a moment's rest Until the Second Coming of the Lord When He shall gather to Him of the best To take them to the place of their reward. I've felt the power of Jesus in my soul Shining like a golden sun within, Melting my hard heart to make me whole, Burning out the remnants of my sin. I've felt Him work within me, so I know The glory that will come when I awake. I'll sleep just like a child who'll homeward go, And in my dreams of love great pleasure take. So do not mourn my death, and do not grieve. The Lord will come for me: This I believe

There's no understanding what you did, Or why, or what we now should think or do: No way to see what your last sorrow hid. What unimaginable agony amid Our ordinary lives unraveled you? There's no understanding what you did, No way for you to tell us why you rid Yourself of us and family, and . . . who? No way to see what your last sorrow hid. Or was it you were just a spoiled kid, Trying to make us all feel bad for you? There's no understanding what you did, Whether mere curiosity had bid You to sneak ahead a lethal view; No way to see what your last sorrow hid, Nor penetrate that awful, granite lid That lies between our thoughts and what is true. There's no understanding what you did, No way to see what your last sorrow hid.

USN, you are clearly seeking attention and I'm glad you are. It shows that you still have some hope in you. You brought up suicide and have made several very clear expressions of wanting to kill yourself. You are exibiting some classic warning signs. One being you are working out a plan of action, ie, "If I were going to do it I'd do it right and not fail"etc etc. USN, if you are having these feelings I hope that you will take a moment and think about it more. Talk to somebody, anybody you can find to listen. If you don't want to seek help right now I suggest you look at some dead bodies. Look them up at Rotten.com or go to the funeral home near by and see if they can help you out. I think it may help you to see just what death is and that it can NEVER be taken back. Suicide is the most sinscere form of self-critisizim. *spelling, its late* and its the most cowardly action you could ever take. Take this advise from someone who has lived with death, caused death, and embraced the motto "Die not for your country. Make him die for his!"

You silly puppettes! Are Snow and I the only ones smart enough to see this whole thing for what it really is?....Government propoganda. Its clearly a tactic to bring us all together during this time of international conflict. Sure they had to have a scape-goat but she'll be living comfortably for the rest of her life. The whole country is devided, what better to bring us together than a search for a missing bride to be....Classic! Its so simple. All that "search money", ya, went right towards the war effort. Sheep!

Amillia, those replys were sad and weak. If you don't want to waist your time fine, but don't cripple your cause dear. Dale, good responces. Ex, lets get some refrences shall we? Now I have some questions. 1. Why do non/anti mormons always question and attack mormonism? a. because the LDS faith has found the answers from God and doesn't need to seek and destroy others? 2. Why can't anti-mormon attacks come with spicific and lagitament refrences? a. because the author is either too dumb / lazy / or just plain wrong. 3. Why have I answered my own questions? a. because I wanted to put my opinion in here too.

So what you're saying is "beware the budist monistary!" ?And what about these tribal peoples that only fought each other over survival issues and for leadership positions before "we" christians showed up and taught them pride? and covetness? (not that all men can't develop this on their own) Are you saying the Jewish Rabbi down the street is plotting against me between his smiles and kind hello's? As far as the jail thing....LOL I just saw a woman last night arrested and when they went to take her crusifix necklace away (I guess it could be a weapon?) she started crying and said without it "demons would attack her" and then she went off into praying some mumbo jumbo. Does she hate Christ? Perhaps she is confused REALLY confused but does that equil hatered? And about these christian societies, how ae they better "simply for being christian" Have you been to Singapore? That country has got its crap together! And its true, there is NO litter in the streets! And the people are not oppressed. They live much like we do, shopping malls and all! Tick, while I do believe in Christ and do love His ways, you my friend are full of CRAP-O'La! You're just the kind of "christian" that makes other religions see "us" as judgemental and unkind. Its people like you who in the old days made Indian children cut their hair and wear "proper clothes". (edited (although I understand your sentiment)) I really hope I'm not put on mod status again.
