  1. I have gone more than a year without a job in hopes of finding one that doesn't require me to work on Sundays, which are few and far in between. I believe in keeping the Sabbath Day holy and strive my best to do so. Now I'm just a college student, I don't have a family to take care of that sort of thing, and in the past I was living off financial aide and odd jobs. It has gotten to the point where I really do need to start working so I'm wondering, does me giving into a job that requires me to work most, if not every Sunday demonstrate a lack of faith on my part, when goodness know I feel I have tried everything else I can think of not to go that route? And I certainly don't want to. I have callings to uphold and partaking of the Sacrament is important to me. At what point should I compromise my beliefs to pay my bills?
  2. I'll never have the chance to become a gamers widow because the guys in our singles branch can't stop gaming long enough to date anyone
  3. It reminds me of the middle ages where people had to pay the clergy to abolish their sins.
  4. Nabbed from News of the Weird Thoughts on this?
  5. Probiotics? I never heard of these. What are they?
  6. Men are definitely most welcome in here to share their knowledge and experience with us! I never knew about Candida before. I just got done reading up on Candida friendly diets. I knew that's how I should be eating anyways, it's hard to do when you still live with your mom and she buys what's cheapest at the grocery store; potatoes and pasta, both pretty carbilicious and starchy. But I can start small like it suggests. Yogurt, berries and nuts would be a very doable (and yummy) breakfast meal. I'd have to figure out when I can do for the rest of the day.
  7. One to screw it in, one to make refreshments, one to give the prayer...
  8. Thank you for this info! I shall have to check these resources out.
  9. lol I dunno why so many people apologize for the stuff they say in here. If you're just saying it like it is, then you're just saying it like it is. No need to apologize. That's kind of why I'm in advice forum, to get all sorts of input.
  10. I would agree except the thing is what I stated in my first post about YouTube not being for pornography or sexually explicit content, is because it is not for pornography or sexually explicit content. That's just not me wishing that, that's on the YouTube website. This content was pornographic and there is a lot of it. Pornography isn't the only thing YouTube is not meant for. Such as real life violence and hate videos (and more I can't remember) which have been posted (and eventually removed).
  11. Living in a largely Filipino populated area (especially at church) this girl often gets disheartened after constantly being overlooked by the men at the singles branch. It's one thing to like what you like, and another to ignore a girl altogether because she outwardly doesn't automatically fit what you're into. There have been quite a few times were guys would introduce themselves to girls on either side of me and skip over me completely. Even if you're not interested have some tact. I don't think I'm that bad looking.
  12. That's the annoyances I'm talking about. YouTube COULD easily prevent those sort of videos...if they really wanted to...
  13. He's asked for my help. Usually he hops on the computer does his facebook thing and that's that. But sometimes it's not. And it is my computer after all which is usually the only one he comes across. Most the time he's too busy with his video games to bother with going on but temptation calls when I'm not at home. I haven't bothered blocking anything before cause it's not a problem for me and mostly I just use my computer for graphic design stuff since that's what I do.
  14. I've thought of that possibility and it just...sucks. It's not that I'm not willing to remove that it, I am and may end up doing so. I'm just so sick and tired of this. I've pretty much stopped watching television because they can't go 5 mins without showing something sexually suggestive. It's hard to take refuge on the internet because it has tendencies to be a million times worse than tv if you're not careful. I just want to be able to go about my day and enjoy the things I want without having to be on constant vigilance. I know youtube can't block everything that's uploaded, but there has to be a better filtering system they can put into place or something. Even google has search options that filter content. Bleh >_<
  15. I thought youtube was supposed to be more of a family friendly sort of place. It states in their community guidelines: YouTube is not for pornography or sexually explicit content. If this describes your video, even if it's a video of yourself, don't post it on YouTube. Also, be advised that we work closely with law enforcement and we report child exploitation. Please read our Safety Tips and stay safe on YouTube. Yet my brother who is struggling with such an addiction, is able to find pornographic material on YouTube! Instead of filtering the materials themselves they want us to filter it for them by flagging every offense we come across. This is ridiculous. I've been trying really hard to help my brother by getting rid of Safari and using only Firefox for its customizability, it's add ons and such. In the end it's taken 3 parental control add ons as well as an ad blocker for me to finally be able to filter the adult content that shouldn't be on YouTube in the first place! I don't want to ban the site altogether because there's still a lot of great things I enjoy watching. This is just frustrating, the never-ending battle against sin I suppose.
  16. Aah that's cute. I had a crush on Brian May when I was little, I never did that though.
  17. 80's-early 90's cartoons. And moral fiber.
  18. While I'll most likely never experience pain from childbirth, the sort of pain I have is mostly mental/emotional due to a combination of the chemical imbalance and various other side effects.
  19. If it's food we're talking about I'd have to go with chocolate & mint!
  20. I forgot Eówyn and Faramir from LotR
  21. Go to school. Do school work. Sleep. Life as a student, though busy, isn't too exciting. Conversations with fellow YSAs go something like this. Hi, how are you? Good thanks you? Fine. What you up to this week? Nothing much, just school work. You? Same. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.
  22. As an LDS member I may not celebrate Lent per say, but I'm not one to pass up Fauschnaut Day! (German version of Fat Tuesday)
  23. Pray, fast, ask for blessings, talk with your Bishop, and do not be hard on yourself. Learn to forgive yourself. Know that it will be a life long thing. Addictions of this sort are tougher to break than tobacco addiction. Resolve to do better next time and as you strive to do so you will. And through the healing power of our Savior you will be cured.
  24. There are many in cultures outside of the US of course, but there also many subcultures within this country. For instance, I'm from Pennsylvania and love celebrating by Pa Duetch roots. Tomorrow is Fat Tuesday but in that area it's Fauschnaut Day. I don't live there any more so I can't find fauschnauts in the store like we used to, so we substitute with doughnuts instead.
