I am going to throw a ringer in here.......just because you are disfellowshipped doesn't always mean you cannot offer a prayer in a class...alot of times yes that will be the case....but not always....every case is different.

I can shed some light into this.....if a person is called into a Disciplinary Council there it will be decided by the members of that council if the person will be disfellowshipped or excommunicated. What is taken away wil be not being able to partake of the Sacrament and what ever else is outlinned by the Bishop or Stake President depending on the one who is holding the Council. If I had a member who was needing Church Discipline I always called my Stake Pres and let him know. He would then ask if the member has been thru the Temple and if they were a Mel Priesthood Holder he may want to hold the Council or tell me that I could hold it but had to let him know the outcome of the Council. When disfellowshipped it goes on a persons church record. There is no time limit its up to the member and whether the meet the guidelines that are given from the council. Alot of times I would put the person on a Bishops probation. I would tell them I wanted them to do this or that and if they didn't do what was outlined I would make the guidelines a bit more strict. Also followed with, if we don't get this resolved we will have to hold a Church Council. By the way...yes...it can go into years.

Has anyone seen the Church DVD titled"The Testament".......I have seen this and it is excellent....we have been waiting for 2 yrs for this to come out on DVD. We recently ordered 10 copies. One for us and the others for us to give away.

As I have mentioned here before......Living in part of the Bible Belt there are many people who advertise in the paper and the Yellow Pages with their company name and the born again sign (fish). Many of the people living here willtell you if they don't see that emblem they won't call that buisness.

Here in our Stake we have been focused on "getting the water to the end of the row"...the example used from farming....when you have a big garden and how you have to work at getting the water to the end of the row so all the plants or vegetation can have water and grow and be strong etc....during our Council meetings we have been focused on less actives....in all our auxillaries we ask at the begininng...."Who is not here...that should be here"....when the names are brought up then assignments are made for someone to call and check on them. Once the person has done that they report back to their leader etc.....I can tell you this.....over the last 2 years our Branch has grown alot...both in attendance and in convert baptisms. Our little Branch last year almost lead the whole Mission in Baptisms.

When you look back over time....probally showing my age here.....this has been all the rants.....60's was about bomb shelters and can anyone remember how you were suppose to know where your local fall out shelters were......then it was about pollution late 60's early 70's....from there we moved on to nuclear power and people were all upset about that. Now its global warming......Shan....I am like you.....I don't have a problem with trying to keep the air clean and the water....and I like the idea of recycling......I am still not sold on the whole global warming thing........

I think there are opinions pro and con....there are alot of articles written that say its not as bad as we make it sound........I don't think its as bad as we make it.

It drives me crazy when people like Ted Danson back in the 80's says.....we only have 10yrs to live because of Global warming.....needless to say that came and went....now along comes Al Gore...about 2 yrs ago says we have like 10 yrs to live...now we only have 8 cause 2 yrs have gone by.....and George Clooney ran his mouth about we are going to die because of Global Warming. Last year the experts were telling us it was going to the worst Hurricane season we have ever seen....we all know that last years hurricane season came and went and was some what quiet. Now the experts again are predicting because of Global warming we are going to have around 20 hurricanes this year......whew.....I am tired just trying to keep up.....must be the global warming causing me to be tired....... ..............

Hummmm so if there's no debate on this subject where you live where's that? Bluesaphires_n_diamonds why do I need to say where I live.....I have never seen debate on this subject....only time I hear about it is when I read it here.....

debate is rampant as to whether these mildly stimulating drinks are banned....perhaps you should speculate where the debate is at..........part of the country I live in there is no debate.....
