We actually do pretty well on the highway with the Sequoia getting 18-20 MPG. We have owned the Excursion and with it being so big felt like a tank driving it around the town. We really need something pretty big to pull our toys where we want to go. Our other car is a Mercedes E 430 and that is one smooth ride.

It's interesting to me that we have people who read but don't jump into the conversations much. Feel free to jump right in or even start your own thread. Most of us are harmless.

Many folks here in UT have gone with the SUV's and steered away from the vans. We did have an Astro Van mans vehicles ago and liked it. I love the Toyota line of vehicles we drive a Sequoia and it does everything that a van would do but it's much "cooler". B)

IF this were to be true that men are superior to women the why can not men live without a woman? It is my opinion that it takes a very good woman behind a successful man. If a couple are married and the woman dies it won't take long before the man finds a replacement. On the other hand, many women prefer to live alone and never seek another man for companionship. Why can't a man live without a woman when a woman doesn't need a man?

For me the pulling out of Bird Feathers was pretty sick, well at least that would be difficult for me. What are the feathers used for?

I read what you said above but can you tells us more about why you want to leave the church? Sometimes if life when one thing looks dark everything can take on a shade of gray. Have you spoken to your family and or a trusted leader about these feelings? And Lindy is right with this And remember.....not EVERYONE on this board is LDS......and we still love them

Does anyone know what the pros and cons are about privatization of SS and if it is really something that is being pushed through? This is the first I have heard of it (this thread).

WOW AGAIN!This seems really symbolic to me. Many people die without ever hearing the music. Tamara, you are a very brave woman. I think that there are many women who would have liked to have done what you did. You needed some time, so you found a place to go and despite the hardship of going somewhere strange without your friend, you overlooked that and went anyway. I did something similar when I was much younger by I only went 1.5 hours away and I went to stay with my Grandma . The time was well spent though and all went well. The hardest thing was my Grandma feeling like I had run out on my young family. If I could go back for a re-do I would choose somewhere where no one knew me. Wonderful Story and thank you for sharing it. Do you have any desire to go to Egypt? The baby was born and all is well?

I agree with this statement. I have known this ever since I entered the work force that social security wouldn't be enough to support us. We are also educating our own children to taking advantage of retirement programs at work. Does anyone know what the pros and cons are about privatization of SS and if it is really something that is being pushed through? I know that on a state level they are trying to privatize Workers Compensation and that is NOT a good thing. Without government regulation of some of these programs, privatization looses the focus of who the beneficiary is. In the case of WC, the owners and executive management become the new beneficiaries.

I saw that you made it back from your trip. Can you tell us anything about it?

Thanks LT I just saw this. :) It's true, this forum doesn't get much action so I don't look here as much. Nick is doing pretty good as the swelling continues to subside. I need to get him into the doctors in the morning because he may have another sinus infection. An infection in his sinuses is a worry because of the close proximenity to his brain and infection there can travel to his brain. EEEEK!

When it comes to matters of Faith everything else is just fluff.I had my sons Neuro Surgeon tell me that because he had not come out of a coma on the 4th day things didn't looks so good. Before he said that I was walking on pure faith. I let this man of "all knowing" temporally destroyed that. The next several hours I lived in pain and anguish. Then the thought came to my head that although this man is very good at what he does and I respected him, he is still just a man. Men are not perfect. I went back to the core of my being and communicated with my Father In Heaven, what was His Will? Nick is now doing very well considering where he has been. Find your Faith again and build upon one thing and then another even if it is your faith that the sun will be there again in the morning.

So True Winnie.We could all be there by just making a left turn rather then a right. The choices we make everyday have the potential to make a great impact on our lives. Some people, however, start in a really tough spot making life changing choices more difficult.
