  1. You made quite a few very good points Traveler. Thank you.
  2. It is true. The demographics for the forum do tend to lean more towards the 40+ crowd.
  3. Do we want to lose more people?
  4. The wording changed on the IRS rules. As long as the organization (in this case More Good Foundation) wasn't aggressively pushing for one side or candidate over another and it was just the members voicing opinions we were okay.
  5. It's been sad over the last few years to see the forums dwindle to almost nothing. I realize that we lost a lot of people each time we changed software. Lately I've gotten numerous requests from members to delete their accounts. Many are stating it's due to the toxic nature of the forums. With a big part of the problem being the moderators adding to it. Not my words. Words of those asking for their accounts to be deleted. For me, the forums aren't fun anymore. We used to really have a lot of fun. We could joke and laugh, we played games. It was such a different world than it is now. Everything is so serious now. What can we do to make it better? How can we draw more people into the forums that will participate in a civil manner? How can we make it fun again? This won't be a thread to attack the moderators or other members. If we want the forums to continue we need to do something to show there is a need for it.
  6. I think in the context of the scripture, #2 would be the most appropriate.
  7. To quote from this: Halt here means limping and is a different and much older word to the one meaning to stop (which was originally a German military term of the late sixteenth century). It has long been archaic. We know it today almost exclusively in the set phrases the halt and the lame and the halt, the lame and the blind, though we do retain halting in phrases such as halting speech, where it means slow and hesitant.
  8. Yeah I was going to say there many be many who are afraid to show their support for Trump publicly because of the assaults that have been happening to people.
  9. What scares me is that someone who doesn't even know he's running for President could possibly win. Twice now he has announced he is proud to be running for the Senate.
  10. I didn't vote for Trump last time (didn't vote for Hillary either) but this year I am. While I may not like his mannerisms or his cockiness, I have been impressed in the job he has done in office.
  11. Ted Cruz is calling for Jack Dorsey to attend some kind of a hearing to answer as to why twitter and facebook are deleting and censoring all of the NY Time's articles regarding Biden and his son's dealings.
  12. @prisonchaplain Being an evangelical minister perhaps you could give some insight here.
  13. Well I hope you stick around for awhile. We could use you here.
  14. Wait...are my eyes deceiving me? Is it the long lost Kawazu? Oh my gosh. Welcome back!!
  15. I don't care if it's a man or a woman. If that person is lying and trying to make you look bad..then by all means.
  16. I LOVE these guys. I have followed them for quite some time now.
  17. Should be. PC is one of the best people I've met. And yes I've met him in person.
  18. Well I'm offended that you can't even use the correct name yourself. It's Latter not Ladder.
  19. Of course. I still use it when I need to save time and space.
  20. Weird. I had not heard there was a no singing rule.
  21. It seems to the moderating team that we are getting more and more posts being reported by "guests." Yet they appear to be extremely familiar with the forum members etc. Many times we want to communicate with the person who has reported a post if we need clarification or perhaps clear up a misunderstanding. We can't do that with an anonymous person. Plus it makes it appear as if perhaps a disgruntled former member just has it out for someone. Going forward: Except with the case of pornography, vulgar language and spamming the site, we will not take action on a reported post that is done by a guest. It must be done by an actual named forum member.
  22. Love that movie. It showed someone who really cared about people.
  23. Anyone that follows current events would see that socialism is evil. Look at some of the countries around the world that have adopted it. Venezuela comes to mind. But Venezuela hasn't failed just because of socialism. They at one time had a thriving economy based on oil. But they put it all in one basket and focused more on oil and less on agriculture and other commodities that the country would need to survive. When oil there fell, so did the country and their economy.
