  1. Duolingo is a nice free app. Where do you find people to Skype with?
  2. Learn another language! Any suggestions? I'm guessing Spanish is most practical, being that I live here in the US, but I'm open to something else. Not sure when I'd use it, to be honest, but I think taking time to really learn another language would be good for me. Also, anyone with experience using Rosetta Stone? Is it a good teacher for someone that won't be environmentally immersed in another language?
  3. I agree with those who have said to keep it private, unless, you want aide from your bishop and potentially other ward members.
  4. I dunno. I think it's easy to look at how others do things and think...what the heck? But as it's been said before, the funeral is for the living, and to help them process what's happened and to move on. For some people and families, that's being able to cry and mourn - for others - that's being able to laugh and celebrate a life remembered. I don't think either is wrong, perhaps strange, yes depending on what I'm accustomed to.
  5. Here's my not so healthy but it'll dish up in a snap ideas... Canned chili Deli sandwiches Piggies in a blanket Mac n cheese I've done these for my husband and daughter when I'm beat.
  6. ^ That is an OLD yo momma joke! Ha!
  7. You still could!
  8. :) This tongue is still!
  9. I don't think I've ever problem solved in any of my dreams. I've had good ideas though. Hey, Eowyn, what's this "nudge, nudge" about? Are you and the mister thinking about another?
  10. Can you do that? I guess you can but I thought the proper channels are to consult the surviving next of kin, and the closest, would be his wife, no? I don't know how LDS baptisms for the dead work, though.
  11. I believe he would tell me. But you are right, I cannot read his mind, and knowing my husband, he'd probably prefer to save me from hearing about such a dream.
  12. I'd be fine with my hubby telling me about his dream with another woman, but all he ever dreams about is MMA fighting or snowboarding or skydiving lol
  13. I'm probably too open to a fault. But I tell my husband everything. It's worked for us.
  14. Before I tested, I dreamt a few times about being pregnant, and shortly after I learned that I was. But both dreams said boy. That was off.
  15. Hahaha! Connie that is a great conclusion! :)
  16. Last night I had a pretty intense dream with another man. This is the first of its kind since being married. I decided to share it with my husband, as we often do share our dreams, from the good to the bad. He was about as surprised as I was. We both know this man because he's a friend but he doesn't live in the same state as us, so communication is limited to Facebook. Anyway, it's just strange how dreams will randomly pick out people we know and create the most confusing situations. Can't figure out where this came from. But yeh, not going to put too much thought into it. Have you been able to piece together some of your more confusing dreams?
  17. Hannibal Lecter
  18. Freddy Kruger
  19. Thank you for sharing your personal stories. They've given me a lot to think about in the future. Applepansy, I don't need therapy for that one experience. I've come to terms with the situation long ago, but my personal preference remains that I don't attend funerals - if I can avoid it - and certainly I won't attend a viewing of any kind. My husband and I are planning on being cremated. I feel very strongly about it. We both don't want viewings held for us, but whatever helps the living move on, I guess.
  20. I should add I'm talking in general. I was not talking about the story shared. I did not read the link. If you can sleep at night feeling confident you did everything you could, so be it, that's what I was getting at "in general".
  21. It seems that it has been officially concluded then. Because the story of Aragon has already been told.
  22. I'm fairly certain that the likelihood of a child being abducted from their bedroom versus from the street is much lower. But I'm no expert on statistics. I won't begin to invest energy in how other parents choose to parent, but what it boils down to, is what can you live with knowing? Was everything done that could have been done to prevent an unfortunate outcome?
  23. Yes, Filipino funerals are dramatic, to say the least. Certainly, the more recent funerals I've been to here in Utah haven't been anything like that back in the Philippines. My daughter has already been to a funeral but she was only a year old, not old enough to know what was going on.
  24. Despite mediocre reviews, I begged my husband to take me to see the last of the Hobbit trilogy, and I enjoyed it enough. It wasn't anything to write home about but it certainly pulled everything together at the end. You weren't left with any questions, everything was concluded. You knew this was it - the end. Though, I am wondering about Legolas, as you were left with the impression that he was off to seek Strider out... Who is Strider? Is this now to be a Legolas The Lone Elf adventure? lol
