  1. Hi, pushka...welcome back! Here's another of my favorites (my hubby and I sing the Cher version as a duet in karaoke!): ALL I REALLY WANT TO DO I ain't lookin' to compete with you, Beat or cheat or mistreat you, Simplify you, classify you, Deny, defy or crucify you. All I really want to do Is, baby, be friends with you. No, and I ain't lookin' to fight with you, Frighten you or uptighten you, Drag you down or drain you down, Chain you down or bring you down. All I really want to do Is, baby, be friends with you. I ain't lookin' to block you up Shock or knock or lock you up, Analyze you, categorize you, Finalize you or advertise you. All I really want to do Is, baby, be friends with you. I don't want to straight-face you, Race or chase you, track or trace you, Or disgrace you or displace you, Or define you or confine you. All I really want to do Is, baby, be friends with you. I don't want to meet your kin, Make you spin or do you in, Or select you or dissect you, Or inspect you or reject you. All I really want to do Is, baby, be friends with you. I don't want to fake you out, Take or shake or forsake you out, I ain't lookin' for you to feel like me, See like me or be like me. All I really want to do Is, baby, be friends with you.
  2. Of course, that is exactly what I meant, Syble. Sorry you misunderstood, Maureen.
  3. Excellent! Hey! Let's create a special password, so only the "good wolves" can post. LOL
  4. Wisdom from Wounds © By Tara G. Lowney A tear silently falls, A heart slowly tears.... Betrayal. Life must continue.... With time, the tears will dry, sunshine will evaporate the murky river, Rapids powered by rage will rest... Currents patterned by collisions will clear. Knowing you cannot find yourself in someone else, Accepting you cannot survive without truth and trust, You grab the lifeline... Those who have waded the river, who have stepped away from the debris rediscovered valuable pieces of a shattered life Light shines where tears once pooled... Stronger threads repair a shredded soul... Step by step, Breath by breath, Wounds heal.... Strength gained from that pain.. Wisdom brings freedom. Memories no longer exhaust, The injury is put to rest Hope is regained... A hand reaches toward, surviving and living... Another extends backward, comforting and sustaining...
  5. Amen! I love Proverbs...
  6. You will pardon me, but I am throwing this topic to the wolves. Thank you, Syble. I have found that I cannot reason with their insanity. LOL Therefore, I am abandoning this topic, since it's been hijacked [from me] anyway.
  7. More "Wisdom"... "To acquire knowledge, one must study; but to acquire wisdom, one must observe." - Marilyn vos Savant "Wisdom is knowing what to do next; virtue is doing it." - David Starr Jordan The Philosophy of Despair, US biologist, educator, & ichthyologist (1851 - 1931) "There is no wisdom without love." - N. Sri Ram
  8. She certainly isn't...but this is her topic...hijacked, I might add. You is a blaming statement; it is accusatory. And in this case, your statement is totally unfounded.
  9. With a name like Grumpy...do you think it's possible? LOL I have never engaged in uncivility; such is the irony of it all!
  10. Yes, some have... sad indeed...as demonstrated thus:
  11. Well you sure spelled that one out, Syble! And amen. :)
  12. This doesn't sound at all like a gospel discussion.
  13. Thanks again, Syble...of course, you are right, as always!
  14. My dad said one time a Witness came to his door and after their brief conversation ended, the Witness hissed at my dad! I have found those who are tracking take "no" for an answer and are very polite about it. They wish me well, and I wish them the same. Perhaps they have changed their "tracktics"... LOL
  15. This statement appeared in the official Church newspaper for March 16, 1963, and says: "The Church is not opposing the John Birch Society or any other organization of like nature," and "that members of the Church are free to join anti-communist organizations." The statement also says that only one man, President David O. McKay, speaks for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on matters of policy.
  16. The old saying is to agree to disagree agreeably! 'Tis the nature of the beast...when people lose the argument, they retaliate and resort to spewing personal insults. Speaking of wisdom: God, grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can, And Wisdom to know the difference. The non-LDS cannot change the stalwart LDS on this board. Shooting the messenger serves no purpose other than hurting people and causing dissention.
  17. what anti mormon and christian post are you talking about ...i dont see any here? what you may call anti mormon is just some one who may disagree with you, Not everyone is Molly ya know! A Molly is a myth! LOL Antis, on the other hand, are not.
  18. "You" is a blaming statement, and accusatory. That is sexual harassment. If only they really understood this comment!! It is brilliantly uplifting and on track! Thanks again, Syble! It's great to be on the same page with someone equally as brilliant and uplifting! :) _____________________________ I found some interesting quotes on wisdom: "Science is organized knowledge. Wisdom is organized life." - Immanuel Kant, German philosopher (1724 - 1804) "Knowledge comes, but wisdom lingers." - Alfred Lord Tennyson, English poet (1809 - 1892) "Wisdom is what's left after we've run out of personal opinions." - Cullen Hightower
  19. Thanks, Syble...clearly, there are some in this forum who do not communicate on the same level. LOL Keep on keepin' on...and don't let anyone shake your faith in the gospel!
  20. Correction: I called for the government's insertion into the bedroom of pedophiles, homosexuals (who sodomize minors), and child abusers/molesters (i.e., polygamists who marry child brides). This is the very reason that The Ten Commandments should be displayed on courtroom walls, so as not to forget what society's laws are predicated upon [God's Law]...which are absolutes. God destroyed Soddom and Gomorrah, but the homosexual lobby reversed the laws against sodomy, thereby "legislating immorality".
  21. That is too cool!! That's very interesting...thanks for sharing that, Syble! As for my foster Indian brother...just 17 yrs old...caught in a dilemma between gospel teachings and Indian teachings...this makes perfect sense!
  22. re: "Wisdom" I submit that we not feed the wolves in sheep's clothing.
  23. The problem is that while we listened to the liberals brainwashing us into "not legislating morality", they did just the opposite by legislating immorality. "If men were angels, no government would be necessary." ~ James Madison "Men will either be governed by God, or ruled by tyrants." ~ William Penn
  24. That is your God-given talent!
  25. How interesting, 'MrsS', that you, being new to the board, would refer to me by a nickname I used months ago! see do. Let's stop monkeying around, shall we? LOL
