  1. The key word is following. If Zimmerman was following Martin, then Martin would have a right to defend himself. How was Martin suppose to know he wasn't trying to kill him? I mean in this guy, Martin had the right hunch(if he did attack first) the guy had a gun and would kill him. We will have to see the remaining evidence, but if Martin was close to home, then Zimmerman did indeed follow Martin. If that is not enough proof to convict Zimmerman of man slaughter, then anybody can kill and just claim self defense. Your misunderstanding what I am saying, I agree innocent until proven guilty. That does not negate me or anyone from giving their opinion though. The majority of people are not saying hang Zimmerman without trial. That would be somebody else who does not understand innocent until proven guilty.
  2. If they can prove Zimmerman followed after he was told to desist, he was not acting in self defense. Then it would be that Martin defended himself. Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought it was already established that Zimmerman did chase down Martin. The scene of the crime was very close to Martin's home, from my understanding.
  3. That is what I don't get about how the court laws(?) work. Why is it ok to question the victims character, but not the defendants? You said previously it did not matter that Zimmerman has a record, that only good things could be said. I also read up on it a bit, in the link you sent. Maybe you could clarify for me
  4. Where is the evidence that he was on top? I have heard conflicting stories from witnesses. If we are relying on what Zimmerman says, that is obviously faulty. Do we really expect him to say anything else? Also it is a little bit lopsided that we can not hear Martin because he was shot in the chest. Now if he would have been shot somewhere else we could hear his side. The things we can agree on(I hope): Just because Trayvon was black does not mean it is automatically self defense for Zimmerman. Just because Zimmerman is not black does not mean he is not a murderer. Black ≠ Thug Thug ≠ Black All races are capable of murder. There are racists in every single race. Every news network has a drive to make money, it is a business. This murder is not a huge conspiracy theory to get somebody reelected. People don't have the right to shoot whomever they want. Just because somebody wears a hoodie he is not a criminal. The Martin family just wants a fair trial for their son. If Zimmerman is found guilty it is a good thing people protested because justice would not have served. If Zimmerman is found guilty the justice system is not broken. All people regardless of race are part of the human family. A superior race s complete nonsense and only an unintelligent person would believe that.
  5. I would actually be fine with this thread closing.... Honestly is getting a little old typing the same thing over and over.
  6. Think about it for a second bytor, what do you expect the right wing media to say? The fact is he got arrested and according to the prosecutors he is a murderer. Now all we have to do is wait for all the evidence to be revealed and find out if a jury deems him a murderer. Like you have said before, we can't jump to conclusions about guilt or innocence. However, thus far in the process, he is looking pretty guilty. We can't only say things when they fit our opinion of a situation.
  7. Life experience tells me that dumb people are always going to do dumb stuff. If it is not for one reason, they will find another reason.
  8. Those crimes would have happened regardless of Trayvon getting shot or not. They just tagged Justice for Trayvon on to their crimes.
  9. Actually it is irrelevant and damaging to a good conversation to drop those stories in without explanation. If you had said, "I posted this because it shows it is becoming a race issue." Then it would be relevant to the topic. Instead, you just dropped it in trying to prove a point, but never said what point. That does nothing, only shows your making it a race issue. If you don't want it to be a race issue, don't contribute to it. It is also irrelevant in the fact that it links in no way back to anybody involved in this issue. That is like dropping a KKK story in here or a story about slave murders. No where did anybody tell these men to hurt in the name of Trayvon. You can't look at the loudest and assume the whole is like that. I also just want to point out something funny I have noticed. When it looked like Zimmerman wasn't going to get charged everybody was like let our justice system play out, it works. Now that he is charged, the justice system is all of a sudden broken.
  10. I have seen the same statements made by Zimmerman supporters... Will there be riots, looting or anything of that manner? As far as those supporting Travyon, starting with the parents, they just want a fair trial. Which they are getting right now and are satisfied. You know they are not happy about the bond situation, but they aren't calling for rioting. That should give you an example of what they would do.
  11. That guy is an idiot for sure. That may have been intention of new black panthers or Sharpton, but not majority of people or blacks protesting for Trayvon.
  12. This is a great talk for him! Love Her Mother - general-conference
  13. I always wondered why you had your wife as your avatar.
  14. I already signed up going this Tuesday. Thank you all for the info!
  15. JAG I think your forgetting the part that the charges against George were possible felonies. One of those charges was even assaulting a police officer. The thing that matters most is that George persisted in following Martin after he was told not to. If I heard correctly they were actually pretty close to Martins home. In addition, there is proof that Martin just bought an Ice tea and skittles. That leads me to believe that he was not going to commit a criminal act. Where do you get he was wondering around houses slowly? George profiled him in the sense that he said they always get away with this(not necessarily race, could be though). That gives him the intent to keep on following. Another huge thing is that the guy seems to keep lying. Were also forgetting Martins girlfriend who was on the phone with him, that will be huge. Question for you: Is it going to be easier for George to get off Murder two then it would have been for manslaughter?
  16. I agree 100% The thing people don't understand is I actually feel bad for George also. Seeing that guy in shackles and knowing he may spend a lot of time in prison does not make me happy. I hate to see anyone's life get so messed up. The guy is not an evil person, wrong place, wrong time, situation.
  17. Care to break it down point by point, post by post. I hope that is not your best "argument."
  18. People use innocent until proven guilty to crush any commentary on the case they don't agree with. When the term is better applied to somebody who says, "hang Zimmerman he killed Trayvon," without wanting a trial. I believe in the justice system and what ever decision is made that is fine. At the same time though, people are allowed to give their opinion on the case. You have given your opinion and I can give mine. Also remember if George is found guilty, that it is not innocent even though found guilty.
  19. It seems like people have a hard time admitting they were wrong. It is of my opinion, where George Zimmerman made a fatal mistake is chasing after Trayvon when he was told not to. I never believed he wanted to kill the kid. Although he did kill the kid due to his own negligence. We don't know who started the fight, but we do know Zimmerman put a bullet through Trayvons chest, leaving him dead. If he would not have chased Trayvon, the kid would not be dead. Also, did anybody watch the bond hearing? Zimmerman is a criminal, Trayvon Martin was not. In addition, Zimmerman appeared to lie and got angry easily. It was clear as day that the prosecution is going to bring up Zimmerman changed his story multiple times. Also he presumably lied under oath at the bond hearing. The prosecution has all the evidence regarding cell phone records and what Zimmerman said in his interviews. Yet, Zimmerman proceeded to lie and say I didn't say that.

  22. Thank you for sharing, definitely something interesting to think about. If it is in no way contrary to church teachings then it could very well be revelation. The great thing about the gospel, as you know, is that we are left with a lot of open ended questions. I know for sure it makes me think a lot. If you believe it is revelation, don't let nobody else push you off that. I am sure they have received revelations that you don't agree with. What I am trying to say is that could very well be revelation.
  23. Made a few wrongs right, planted a desire in my heart to serve Jesus Christ, then I repented and felt the joy Alma described. I didn't feel like I had to mark a checklist; that would have been less spiritual.
  24. Sorry everyone, I rarely reread posts for clarity or anything for that matter. Tipman was right, I have been going through the repentance process. I was able to partake of the Sacrament again, roughly two months ago.My question should have been: Is there a wait time in order to receive a calling after being on probation, once I am able to take Sacrament?
