  1. I am a little surprised that it is only one in 10. It seems like it is higher from where I sit.
  2. The master of tangents has arrived! Regardless of race we are all the same starting out. It is environmental factors, some over a long period of time, that make us different. The way we think of race is a facade. If from the beginning of human existence we switched Asians with blacks. The blacks would be the race known for intelligence. Whereas, the Asians would be known as the more athletic race.
  3. Coming from the person who has the most misunderstandings on the board. It really show our character when we can't admit mistakes.
  4. I have seen members with tattoos. It is part of their life before joining the church and they do not get judged because of it. I even know, fairly well, a member of a bishopric who has a visible tattoo. It is not what you do before you know Christ, but what you do after.
  5. Discussing this with you has been an exercise in futility. Somewhere during this conversation we have started misunderstanding each other. See you in another thread, adieu
  6. A lot of times when I am in a passionate discussion about an issue. I will need to be told to stop and think, even know I am thinking. It means rethink what you think. Just a term I used... The thing is when everybody around us sees something some way and our news network tells us the same thing. It is hard to have the courage to say, no that is wrong.
  7. Hey, sorry I get mixed up, read so many posts from people accusing me of that.
  8. There are two sides: Zimmerman acted in self defense Zimmerman murdered Trayvon To truly understand an issue, you should look at it from both sides. If you automatically dismiss one side, you are not giving the issue a true assessment. The problem is that we are both saying, essentially, that we dismissed the other side. In the end, were more then likely both wrong and have each assessed both sides.
  9. No, plenty of smart people don't do that. I am not calling anybody childish names...
  10. How do you figure I have made up my mind that he is guilty? Is it because I disagree with your interpretation of the evidence. A lot of the time when somebody disagrees with you on an issue, you will justify it some way. It is clear you have justified it with repeatedly of accusing me of having my mind made up that he is guilty. Take a minute, truly assess the incident and you will realize it isn't so simple as he didn't do anything wrong. As far as handling firearms and tactical experience.... I have more then you could ever dream of, add to that explosives training. The whole problem is that he used deadly force... Once the gun was pulled, I am sure the kid would have froze.
  11. There you go letting your emotions get in the way that he is not guilty. You inhale what foxnews tells you, but look no where else. Sadly JohnDoe you are stuck in your sphere(seem to be) and won't look out. I have entertained both sides and changed my mind on a few things. It takes a smart mind to assess both sides and come to a conclusion. If you don't want to people to be influenced, by essentially propaganda, you can't be either.
  12. I don't know how your getting from what I posted to this. You made a good point when you said, "As long as we keep separating ppl for fear that sexual orientation is contagious then things won't get better." That is probably true.... The only problem, like I was getting at, is that they are suppose to be examples to the boys. That is sending a signal to the boys that hey it is alright to be gay. Which is not something a Christian? organization wants to do. Say what you want about being born gay, but from watching those around me it seems like a choice. If it is a choice, which boy scouts are going off, then allowing a gay leader is sending the message it is a good choice. Then you throw in the fact it is opening up a floodgate.
  13. The important thing, like ram touched on, is that there is some type of father figure in the boys life. Sad fact is that boys will go out and look for a father figure, sometimes they end up becoming gay. There is clearly other ways somebody can become gay, but that is an obvious one.
  14. I know homosexuality is not contagious... Just know, I know a lot regarding the issue, my brother is gay.
  15. As much as I struggle to grasp beyond a reasonable doubt, because my heart won't let me. It also seems like there has been misinterpretations of innocent until proven guilty.
  16. I guess I was thinking about what a soldier would do.... The guy had adrenaline rushing and hasn't been in many combat situations. Although usually pulling a gun on somebody is enough to stop them.
  17. Yea, your misremembering or misinterpreting. To post links to articles of blacks beating up whites is completely fruitless. Then again even to the guy your referring to, that makes no sense. What I gave was an analysis of the incident. The links post to a completely different issue.
  18. Well of course that is a possibility.... The situation I am referring to is a toddler being watched by a gay uncle. The child is older now, but acts homosexual(feminin). If you act a certain way your going to naturally gravitate to a like group of people. In this case he learned feminin traits from his gay uncle, therefore, it is likely he will gravitate to those who already have feminin traits. It is just interesting how he picked it up from his uncle.
  19. What is there that shows he was not the aggressor? The evidence that shows he was the aggressor or that Martin acted in self defense is Zimmerman followed him. An aggressor would not walk away, he would be aggressive, attack. Even more evidence is that Zimmerman shot him in the chest. A person who was not the aggressor would not shoot in a lethal spot. Even more then that is he said "they always get away with this,"* that gives a reason why he would not let them get away. That makes three just common sense proofs he was the aggressor. Now lets look at what shows Martin was not the aggressor. The incident, supposedly, happened very close to Martins home. There is video footage of Martin leave a store after buying an ice tea and skittles. Those two things show he was heading home, not set out for trouble. Then you take into account a random guy was following him. He would not know if the guy had a gun or what. I have never ever heard of somebody being followed switch it up and start following the follower. That just doesn't seem right. Those to me, are common sense proofs Martin was not the aggressor.
  20. My initial reaction was off course I will sign. Then I thought about it a little more and feel they have influence over impressionable children. Not that gay people are all bad, simply not true. It comes from the fact that I have have seen where a kid hangs around a gay person and grows up to be one himself.
  21. If you have not noticed I am a bit of a contrarian. I like to debate all sides of arguments, feel I learn the best that way. \ In this case I was referring that it should be a human issue that a man got beat that horribly.
  22. I will give it to you all, you changed my mind as far as beyond a reasonable doubt. Common sense would tell me he should be at least convicted of manslaughter. But that is not what the law tells me. I agree with how our legal system is set up, as far as beyond a reasonable doubt. Much rather see guilty people go free, then have one innocent person in prison.
  23. Those riots were obviously done by uneducated criminals. I watched the video and looting was not only done by black people. Which proves the points that given the opportunity people will cause damage for no reason. I doubt it is anybody's intention involved in the Martin case to cause a huge riot. I am not familiar with Jackson or sharpton, so that is possible. Although that does not remove the fact that Martin was killed.
  24. The guy was hit 50 times and the cops got acquitted for that crime. That is not a black issue, that is a human issue. Just because somebody is a criminal doesn't mean you can beat them. The people who rioted were obviously mistaken for making it a black issue.
