  1. If we educated all people and gave all people an equal chance we would have far less crime. There would be far less problems overall.
  2. Just for the record I was the only white kid at one of my schools, no lie. I stood up to the black kids and got jumped. I understand some blacks can be overly aggressive, but it is because of how they are raised. It is important that we help out the weakest(poorest) of our society, love rules over anything.
  3. I wonder if the white or black guy had a better chance of getting a solid education. Which one had the teachers that gave a heck? Obviously this act is horrible, but this thread is clearly a play on the Travyon one.
  4. Money and ratings would obviously be the biggest motivator. I don't see how a secret motive to get somebody elected would trump that. Don't have cable so haven't really kept track of everything. Posted this thread after seeing it in the news(internet) for a few days. I follow Aristotle(I believe he was the one), and take the difficult stances. Although I honestly believe this case is a little fishy, like you say a tough case.
  5. My news website is playing their cards right again. They frequently have news about Mormons.
  6. They feel the police just threw the case out as another black guy doing something bad. That is why the hoodie has become a huge symbol for this issue. Just because he is black and wearing a hoodie does not mean he was out to beat Zimmerman. Another symbol is the skittles because he just left a store from buying skittles and an ice tea, not up to no good.
  7. This is where we have a misunderstanding Chaplain, maybe you could help me understand. It is the medias job to cover stories that people will watch, making them money. This story became huge, so the media covered the story. Are they just suppose to ignore this story? I don't understand how this is that political. All different types of blacks are protesting, republican and democrat. I also don't understand how you say this is a huge race issue. They only want justice(that does not automatically mean he is guilty) for one man. They just don't feel a proper investigation has taken place. It is not that they are saying, oh kill all white people. Is fox news calling this a race issue? If that is the case, fox news is causing the biggest race issue. I completely agree we don't have all the facts, but that doesn't mean people haven't formed opinions. When you say if it doesn't appease the left you are making it a political issue. This is a black issue, not a left issue. If the police department releases the results of the investigation and it shows he is not guilty nothing will happen. They just desire a fair investigation. People are in fear because of a small minority of people. It is a fallacy to look at a few bone heads, new black panthers and spike lee, and say that is the case for the whole group.
  8. What about the birthers who rushed to judgement? Is it only ok when it is your political side? Did I condemn Zimmerman or did I say something doesn't sound right? Shouldn't the police department be skeptical about this situation? Is their apparent lack of investigation the problem?
  9. I understand it is innocent until proven guilty..... That does not negate the fact that everyone can form an opinion. Everybody here has seemed to form an opinion that he is not guilty. I am simply saying stuff just does not add up. As far as media sensationalizing a story, that is nothing new. That happens on all networks, especially fox news, even when it is not an election year. Does anybody remain the birthers??? Who started that??? Fox news!! In all honesty MSNBC seems highly guilty of it also, but I don't follow them. I don't mean to be rough with fox news viewers, but I have to correct errors. You can't just blame MSNBC for everything when your network does it also.
  10. MSNBC may have changed the recording, but the facts still remain. We can't really know if Zimmerman committed the crime or not. However, anybody with an honest analysis of the situation knows that there are big question marks. Will an honest analysis by people be done on either side...um... I have little hope.
  11. I guess that means I am acclimating to the culture.
  12. Is his birthday pertinent to my salvation?
  13. Not saying anything about previous posters but the abusive line can be stretched a long ways. If somebody gets divorced what do you expect them to say? Oh my husband is the perfect man, I think not! They will most likely come up with any excuse to justify a divorce to those around them. It seems especially in this church when people are overly sensitive about their image it is worse. Everyone just remember there are two sides to every story.
  14. This got huge because people exercised their right and protested. Then msnbc covered the case..... Trayvon had skittles and iced tea in his hand he just bought from 7/11. That does not sound like somebody up to no good.
  15. I know your a lawyer so I am picking your brain. Much cheaper then law school.
  16. It is interesting how you bring up something he was suspected of but never charged. At the same time innocent until proven guilty for Zimmerman. What is the point? Does that make him a murderer or a violent person? Is that good enough reason for him to die? So he came and checked who was following him, then decided to leave. Why would Trayvon not attack Zimmeran then. Why leave and then come back? That leads me to believe Zimmerman chased him down, after the dispatcher told him not to, which lead to his death. Is that enough reason to charge him with murder, if he chased him after he was told not to? What was Trayvon Martin even being followed for? Is it a good enough reason to follow someone for wearing a hoodie? That sounded like a black guy to me. What I heard was a professional willing to bet his reputation that it was Trayvon Martin. Also if it was Zimmerman why did it stop right after the shots were fired? Immediately after shots were fired the screaming ended. I don't understand why a parent would not want justice for their child. They made comments in public to get justice. I would be more concerned about a parent who did not attempt to get justice. Do you expect them to say, well my son vandalized so that makes him a murderer? What do people expect? With the "they always get away" comment, it is clear he is angry they always get away. That would mean he doesn't want them to always get away. There is the motive for him to not let him get away. Also why would Trayvon want to attack him at the truck. What is the motive? If anything he was being chased with a gun and would want to get away.
  17. Screaming, clear Trayvon was yelling, how sad Trayvon Martin 911 Call [sHOCKING SCREAMS] Murder Caught on Tape (by nizzyd !) - YouTube
  18. Why is Trayvon even considered a bad egg? Is it because he smoked weed in high school, flipped off somebody in a picture and wore a hoodie? If your using that as the criteria to call somebody a bad egg or a 'thug,' you are calling about 90% of Americans 'thugs.' Also Zimmerman has a worse record then Trayvon, from my understanding. Who is the 'thug' Trayvon or Zimmerman? The recording shows that Trayvon was screaming scared, the police told Zimmerman to stop chasing him and Zimmerman said, "they always get away with this." Do you honestly expect somebody to get shot without fighting back. If somebody was chasing me with a gun I would fight for my life. I am sure his instincts kicked in and he fought. As far as the family trying to make him look good. What do you expect? I find it a normal occurrence that parents think their children are the best thing since sliced bread.
  19. If you look at the news the focus is being brought back to the economy.
  20. Very true, can't argue with that!
  21. Two options: Do they want news, so they can make money? or Is it a giant conspiracy theory to get re-elected? On top of all that the most bias news is Fox news a Republican station. I go to the website and it is always a constant bash on him. I thought they were fair and balanced. About Zimmermans injuries, the one analysis I heard is that the injuries don't match what he has reported. There is even tape of him being brought into the police station to prove it.
  22. The issue is not that it was a race crime. The issue is that the justice system let Trayvon down. They believe he was looked at like another criminal black boy. Although now the recording is out and Zimmerman said, "they always get away with this."
  23. It kind of looks like they see this as a big deal to finish what the civil rights movement started. They should not be killed for the way they dress or look. You believe they should be quiet about it and that will cure the problem, I agree for the most part. Just understand why they are a little sensitive about the race issue. Don't you understand why? As far as causing a race divide, I don't really see it. Yes, we should all see each other as part of the human family regardless of skin color. However, they have a stronger community because things that have happened in the past. Don't you understand why? The only way it is causing a race divide is because people get angry that they are standing up for justice. You can't look at the fact the new black panther party is involved and associate all participates with them. In addition, Zimmerman is Hispanic, not white. The only reason I said it would be neat if the church comments is because blacks for the most part look at us as racist. Even know that title is not deserved, they do. One comment on an issue that has captivated the whole black community would go a long way. Although I understand they won't and should wait until all the facts are out. The duke lacrosse team case is still fresh on my mind.
  24. I agree From the first post of this thread: "If it is proved that Trayvon Martin was killed in cold blood."
  25. Yea, I think the Powell case was more horrific. I also agree with most of your post.
