  1. Good movie!!!!! Most of the time though I was pondering the political message of the movie.
  2. Me and my wife share money, if we need to tighten up, I just tell her. We are both financially smart, we don't waste money on what we deem stupid things. Usually we try to save up for vacations, verses buying high dollar items. She is not a big fan of having a budget so I don't implement one. However, in the end I am the one who handles the money and IRA.
  3. I was going to say, not allowing a person to wear Temple Gear when they die is like kicking a dead person.
  4. No man or women has power over me, well except my wife... Although I will proudly say I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I believe in Jesus Christ and that he speaks through the Prophets. You can test that statement out yourself by watching General Conference April 1 on The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

  6. Let me pose a few questions What if somebody only finds joy in football? Did God not command his children to be happy? What about if he continuously thanks God well watching football on Sunday? Is being grateful not a commandment and draws one closer to God? The hardest thing about being a member of The Church is not watching sports on Sunday, I fail about 60% of the time.

  8. If you love him and want your marriage to work never, never, never give up and make sure he watches General Conference.
  9. I agree that the Adam-God theory discussion is pure speculation and nobody views should be associated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. If anybody really wants to find out about The Church, they can see Living Prophets on 1 April 2012 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
  10. As far as Jesus being Adams only son, I don't think it necessarily thrusts him into the role of Elohim. I think Adam also would be Jesus Christ's oldest son. That is if we consider that Elohim, Jehovah and Micheal created everything together. You ask, well how can they both be the oldest sons of each other? We need to remember that 'heaven' is not in the same time spectrum as we are. Therefore, it is possible that they both created each other in the flesh and are eldest sons in that sense. I understand you said created in the spirit world, but Brigham Young said this in his original lecture, "Jesus, our elder brother, was begotten in the flesh by the same character that was in the garden of Eden, and who is our Father in Heaven." The thing that lends me to believe Brigham Young was referring to this interpretation of his talk is the Temple. The Temple refers to Elohim, Jehovah and Micheal creating everything and specifically in that order, also the scriptures lend credence to that interpretation.
  11. Looking deeper into it, people are saying that Brigham Young taught that Adam was God the father. I don't see where they are getting that from, his teaching says nothing like that and we know better from what we learn in the Temple. It looks like Heber Kimball made a statement in 1856 that teaches that more then anything. But that doesn't jive with what we learn in the Temple.
  12. Here we go, I am ready for a good debate: It seems like people have a problem with the Adam-God theory because they don't understand it. They automatically assume we are placing Adam above God and Jesus Christ, which is not true. Adam is not higher then God or Jesus Christ, just like if we are exalted, we are not higher then God or Jesus Christ. Every time somebody is exalted it just adds honor unto God, Jesus Christ and other Gods who were our ancestors. Let me repeat that, no one will surpass God or Jesus Christ. Brigham Young was basically teaching that Adam is a God, "HE is our FATHER and our GOD." Adam is just as much our father and God as we will be to our posterity(if we live righteously). The reason that Jesus was begotten in the flesh by Adam, was because Adam created all things with God and Jesus. Therefore, it logically follows, that if Adam created everything with God in the beginning, he also created Jesus. Just like Jesus created everything, therefore, he was with God to create Adam. This teaching is important because it teaches the truthfulness of exaltation and helps us understand our potential.
  13. If you believe in exaltation, then the Adam-God theory is naturally true.
  14. I would be overly nice to them and remember they are threatened by you.
  15. Thank goodness we have a stronghold in Utah, we're good
  16. The dollar has no real value, it was once backed by gold, not anymore. The dollar is worth what we perceive it to be worth. As far as the government influencing money, everything they do influences the economy. Heck, everything we do has an effect on the economy. When Bush gave a credit a few years ago it was to boost the economy. The reason he did it was because anytime somebody spends money it boosts the economy. Not only does it influence that one time, but it has a multiplier effect. Then you could get into the Federal Reserve, which is all about manipulating the economy(to help it). Economics is very fascinating.... Does anybody know any good pod casts regarding economics?
  17. I think this thread not disappearing into oblivion is an important lesson for me.
  18. I agree that God is no respecter of persons, however, his Saints sometimes have been sometimes throughout history. Whites or Latinos could just have easily been barred from having the Priesthood, if it was expedient for building up the kingdom of God. Think about this, as sad as it, his Kingdom could possibly have ceased if there was no polygamy, not being able to do proxy work for holocaust victimes or blacks banned from the Priesthood. The important thing to remember that Gods work will never fail, there have been provisions put in place to combat hiccups that occur.
  19. I don't look at Trump as the Ace of spades on economics, but I believe inflation will go up. The tradeoff if you want low unemployment is high inflation. It is nearly impossible to balance those two things perfectly. That is why if I had excessive amounts of money I would invest in property or other tangible things.
  20. You won't be damned for not wearing them, but you will be blessed for wearing them.
  21. When they're 18 I won't feel obligated to stay and be with them though.
  22. The good thing about having kids young is that they will be out of the house when you are young. By that time you should have money to do what you want... Can you say vacation galore . I am looking at my daughters being out of the house at 38
  23. May, I think we can both agree the Bible can be interpreted in many ways. Just like we can justify our point with that scripture, so can you. With that in mind, the only real way to know the truth of all things is to pray about them. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with Jesus at its head, lays forth a challenge to all non-believers. The challenge is to read The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ with a sincere heart and pray about it, then the truth will be revealed onto you. What do you have to lose by reading The Book of Mormon? If you truly think about it, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
  24. It is good to know he is not too good for greasy fast food and may have enjoyed a fish burger. Just giving you a hard time . I don't blame you every time i eat fast food I feel my arteries closing.
  25. May, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is not the only church to tell its members to abstain from alcohol. I have been or heard of many different denominations that don't allow alcohol. Heck, you can go to two different churches within a mile of each other and both have differing policies on the subject. The only reason our policy gets so much attention is because we are a united church, as Jesus would want. Not to bash other churches, but we should not be punished for our unity, that is what Jesus prayed for. 21 That they all may be aone; as thou, bFather, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be cone in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. John 17:21
