  1. I think that it is quite possible there were more families like Noah's that we don't have record of.
  2. I haven't been here long enough to remember you but welcome back anyway.
  3. Yeah but how can this be enforced if there is no central "archy"
  4. I use the archaic when I pray. I was never taught to do so I followed the example of my parents. The motivation for me praying this way is because I feel it is more respectful. In spanish there are two ways to say the pronoun "you". When you are talking to a peer, you use the familiar "tu", but when you are speeking to a parent or a teacher, it is more respectful to use the formal "usted". I think of using the archaic speech in prayer the same way.
  5. And yes every world has failures and successes. I was speaking in generalities.
  6. I was not suggesting G_d failed, but rather the world itself failed the test and therefore was destroyed.
  7. The pre-flood era could be thought of as a failed world that was destroyed.
  8. I don't think you can prove there isn't life on the moon or the sun.
  9. Milk is one of the best marinades... it'll make anything juicey... even emu
  10. since you don't have any beer on hand try a milk marinade. It'll made it nice and tender and juicy.
  11. The main argument I can think against using modern english is that modern english has lost a few words like the plural you. Except maybe in the south where they say y'all.
  12. I don't see the point in teaching children with plain english scriptures. Children can learn what the thees and thous mean a lot easier now than when they're adults.
  13. You put yourself in danger by behaving in a way that was not Christ-like. The people that got offended shouldn't be held to such a high standard because they don't have the fullness of the gospel like you do.
  14. Reading the Bible and Book of Mormon in the archaic speech gave me a leg up in being able to Shakespeare in high school. I could see how it could be useful to someone just learning eglish but I will start my children off reading the archaic speech.
  15. When I garden I'm a gardener, when I paint I'm a painter when I write I'm an author. Just because I can do more than one thing doesn't take anything from each individual thing. It's not the labels I am saying will continue but the work.
  16. Roses won't have thorns. Lions will eat grass.
  17. By your deffinition it may be. To me he souds like a libertarian (my deffinition of the word). FWIW here's is web deffinition of anarchist: anarchist [ˈænəkɪst] n 1. (Government, Politics & Diplomacy) a person who advocates the abolition of government and a social system based on voluntary cooperation 2. a person who causes disorder or upheaval when I first saw he was an anarchist it got my back up. It's all relavent to your deffinition though. Let's move past the semantics and labels and discuss the deeper meaning shall we?
  18. For the enjoyment of reading books?
  19. Even if I was "born gay" and that is how I am; the whole purpose for us being here is moving past the natural man and becoming more like G_d. I, however, don't believe that I was born gay. I think I convinced myself I was.
  20. I can't speak for others but the idea of being "married' to another man is repulsive to me. I think that for me personally I got tricked kinda into thinking I was gay. Because I rebelled aws a tennager and became sexually active, I got used to those sensations with a man and so that is what my body knows. I'm still attracted to the idea of a relationship with a woman but I'm physically drawn more to males. Does that make sense? I know this response is off subject and I'm sorry, but I wanted to but my situation in perspective.
  21. I'm sorry but I don't understand your post. Are you saying that I'm saying it is? For me ssa is like a physical addiction.
  22. Welcome Seeking, In my short hiatus in belief in the LDS church one of the first churches that I was drawn to was the Catholic Church (I liked the music).
  23. warm saucer of milk anyone?
  24. Wanted to rephrase one of my statements above. Someone with ssa will have it the rest of their lives except in the case of divine intervention(miracles) which do happen.:)
  25. Daniel 2020: Let me first state that I am a person that struggles with ssa. I think my beliefs fall closer to yours than others in this discussion but there a few points I wanted to bring up. There's a difference between an impure thought simply entering your brain and entertaining such thought. Let's use your pedophile situation as an example. I don't believe it is a sin for the temptation to lust after a child to enter the brain of a pedophile. It is when the pedophile gives in to the temptation and fantasizes in an impure way about a child that they are comitting sin. Also a drug addict physically never stop craving drugs. They are desiring after something evil only if they willfully entertain those cravings that they sin because they are seeking after the drug... even if in their own minds. In the same way, someone with ssa will have it the rest of their life. They will never be free from the temptation to lust after one of their own sex. It is when they entertain those thoughts and tempt themselves that they have commited the sin you are refferencing.
