I amy be wrong but didn't Elder Boyd K. Packer say one of the greatest threats to the Church was from homosexual activists?

Okay, I have a question. If two men are gay and LDS and never have sex can they live together? If not, can they meet up with each other and do holidays together, or go camping or have a BBQ at the park? I understand that there would be a temptation if they did live together but there must be some who could go without sex. At teh same time there are lesbians who live together and even get pregnant through fertility interventions. Could a couple where one or both are LDS still be members in good standing if they raised a family but never had sex?

I think the members should be encouraged to spend time on worthy political campaigns. This should only be volunteer though, not being paid by the Church. I originally thought that was what the church was doing.

Oh, did not catch that. In that event then I suppose a law might have been broken. We have lots of lawyers that are LDS so it is too bad they were not advising the Church on the laws. I supported Prop 8 and had some discussions with the miss on this. Her contention was that if you stick your hand in a hornet's nest you will get stung. Maybe the Church should have put gloves on first.

One could make a documentary of Mr. Rogers and make him out to be a demon. I am sure the makers of this film have an ax to grind against the Church.

THis is just wrong. The Church never forced anyone to donate time. People have a right to volunteer for campaigns. Isn't that what representative democracy is all about?

I suppose it must happen. I have known of LDS parents who have kicked out teens for not going to church.

Go for broke. Scan for the girl who is the absolute best looking in the ward. Start talking with her and then ask her out. Lots of guys don't ask the best looking girls out.

I agree. I have known Mormons who absolutely hate Bob Bennett, Mitt Romney and Harry Reid. I am not using the word hate lightly. They really hate them. Maybe people are starting to make politics personal.

That sounds like people who say banning smoking in public is totalitarian. The WofW is teaching us to treat our bodies with the respect of a temple. I do not think the Church teaches the doctrines it does about sex to exercise power. It is to protect us from the damage to our spirit, health and wellbeing of others that the doctrines are repeated from the Bible and the BofM.

Isn't this the way it used to be in the 19th century? You could drink and smoke in moderation. I have heard it was changed because people took it to the extreme and hurt their health.

Good insights. I do not think any LDS leader has said God had sex with Mary. They said she got pregnant in a natural way. Would that leave the possibility that God's DNA was implanted like gynocologists do today with artificial insemination?

I have known a few Jews in my life. They all claim to be pure. A couple have blonde hair and blue eyes, a couple have black hair and brown eyes, a couple had light brown hair and green eyes and two had red hair. Jesus maybe looked like any one of these types I guess.

I know that we need taxes in a modern nation. However, as long as we remember the phrase, "The power to tax is the power to destroy" then we can keep our elected representatives responsible. If we don't then we will see taxes eat us away like bugs on your tomato plants.

I once read an article on an LDS blog that said there were a couple of these types that are overrepresented in the Church. He said he was an INTP and that INTPs have a hard time in the Church, but that leaders in the Church seemed to have lots of INTPs. I have a cousin who is INTP and he will not accept anything said in Church unless he argues it in his mind, and then argues with everyone else. He then will adopt some Church principles quite devoutly, if they can be justified cerebrally, but others he will rationalize that it has to be in the scriptures or it is only cultural opinion. He recently got a body piercing and made sure to tell everyone on his Facebook.

My wife thinks I am a prude because I think parents need to be dressed around the kids. She was raised in a very "open" household but my family was very conservative. Is it proper to only wear your bottom garments until your hair is dry? What age should your kids be under if this is how you dress?

I am not sure. I have never dated a girl who wound up dead just after seeing me -- much less two.

I heard many states no longer mandate alimony. Child support is different. Does anyone know the rules on that?

I think this is the right approach. I would fel real guilty if I paid for exercise on a Sunday. A family walk is fun on Sunday.
