Windseeker got a reaction from EarlJibbs in Cursing and Cussing at work...
Before I moved to Florida I worked for a major mobile company at their head quarters. Even though the CEO was LDS it had to be the most foul language ridden area I've ever worked. Lots of LDS there too, but people just get used to it I guess. The only thing I won't tolerate is too much "G-d" and "Jes-s". My usual response is "Are you praying...or talking to me?"
Here in SE Florida language is still pretty bad but you get used to it. My wife works in a Hospital and has been shocked at the foul language coming out of medical professionals. She was actually reported for cussing out a nurse, everyone knows she's LDS and never swears so they dismissed that pretty quick. Her lack of swearing makes her stand out.
Welcome to the real world

Windseeker got a reaction from Blackmarch in Meridian, Idaho temple under appeal.
The Temple here in Fort Lauderdale had very little opposition.
I drove past it last night and its absolutely beautiful.
The Church not only built a temple here they are developing Shotgun East Estates a bordering 13-lot residential development of one-acre equestrian lots.

From everything I have learned of the gospel, I feel the opposite is true. We are fooling ourselves into thinking we don't want to live eternally with our Heavenly Father.
For what other purpose did we come to this earth, if not to progress, become like, and return to our Heavenly Father?

Windseeker got a reaction from Sunday21 in Placing your burdens on The Lord
Elder Bednar spoke to this during the Sunday Morning conference. It was very similar to this. https://www.lds.org/ensign/2012/04/the-atonement-and-the-journey-of-mortality?lang=eng
His talk spoke about how our burdens act as the traction in life that enables our progress and how taking the yoke offered by the Savior allows us to share our burdens with him, not necessarily place them on him.
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
“Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
“For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:28–30).

Windseeker got a reaction from NightSG in This new forum....
It\'s going to take some time getting used to. At first it appears to be a little too sanitized. Hope to see emoticons and means to add pictures to our posts. HTML tags are not working for me.
ps. It\'s also adding a backslash prior to apostrophes and quotes.
