why can't we just pay 10% tax on anything we buy and eliminate the irs? The salaries alone would save the country tons of money, not to mention printing costs. And it would be environmentally friendly, so the treehuggers would be happy.

well, just before we got married my wife sold her handgun because she knew i am not a gun dude and had an objection to having guns in the house with kids. She does have an old shotgun that has no ammo. However we had a conversation the other night and I have agreed that with todays economic climate we might want to have something to defend ourselves if things were to degrade to rioting and pillaging. I have agreed that we will buy a gun safe, a rifle for hunting, and a good handgun and practice with them. We are not concerned with your everyday burglars. There may come a time when we may need to protect our home and food storage, such as it is, from people out trying to pillage and plunder. It is conceivable that we could have to hunt for food.

i think they are good for savings accounts for that reason, but would never have my main acct without a bank to walk into.

I think the best stimulus would have been to send every TAXPAYER in America a check for $10k, which would be used to pay credit card debt, mortgages, car payments etc. The banks would then have that money, be making profits, use it to lend again....everybody wins, except politicians, cuz NO PORK!!!

unless you have a monitoring service that you pay for, then it's not a hit that affects your score. Pale, most auto ins companies do check it.

I think it is a wonderful book, and has really helped me. There are some who do not agree. Those that appreciate the words and feel comforted by it tend to be people who have made a lot of bad choices. I found comfort in the things I read, even though I did not agree 100 percent with every thing written.

ours got complicated when out Tax Deduction #1 was born and my wife began home based business the same year. decided to have a "pro" do them. he said we owed about 2k. took to another "pro", who said we owed 3k. my wife sat down at the computer and went thru the forms line by line and consulting the tax code directly. sent the IRS a check for about $18. ....a few weeks go by and we get a letter from the IRS saying we had underpaid....but they would forgive the 45 cents. now we use turbo tax...i bought this years for $60 on pricegrabber
