  4. There are several reasons. For record keeping purposes, like tithing, ordinances, callings, etc. Also, there is a need to insure there are enough Priesthood holders in a given ward to fill the necessary callings. That's why my current ward is part of a stake to the south, even though I live one street over from the stake center that we have our meeting at.

  8. so far everything went fairly well, considering i decided not to use the case that came with the kit i ordered, because it was fugly.i decided instead of doing a complete build, to replace mobo, cpu, fan, and ram in the compag that i was going to scavenge everything else from. therefore the wires for the power switch, power led, and hdd led did not coincide with the pins on the motherboard. had to take them out of the block they were in and use the blocks from the new case i did not use. everything else went well, and currently downloading xp sp2
  9. might want to mention quality of life or work/life balance....but yeah, why isn't he writing it?

  13. I would post a link to a blog about Stephanie Meyer, but i do not want another "notification" because of a book cover on said website, however ya'll can always google "Moriah" and read it .
  14. i appreciate the advice and offer of assistance. i am normally barefoot while at my desk. i have a metal stapler nearby for frequent touching. i will be harvesting the parts that dont come with the kit from a compaq presario. kit has case,motherboard,3.0cpu,3g ram, and cooling fan.
  15. tomorrow my barebones kit arrives for me to start putting together my first computer from scratch.
  16. glad you are ok!
  17. tell'em to kiss your grits!!
  18. i plan to stay with xp as long as possible. considering buying an extra copy to have on hand. i currently use an upgrade from win98, so i have to keep my win98 disc for whenever i do a fresh install, which is about once a year. i had to do a lot of searching for my wife's laptop to find a good one with xp. none of the stores have them anymore. ended up going thru dell small business unit.
  19. hope she doesn't have a membership here, or else now she knows how cheap you are. and so does everyone else here.....i can hear the gals crossing your name of their list at this very moment.

  22. i love google, but dont use the toolbar. the search box is all i need.
  23. My wife just told me she has read , and we have both, as well as Anthem, which she says should be read first. She describes Anthem as the foundation, Fountainhead as the framework, and Atlas Shrugged as the sheetrock ,paint, windows, etc. I think i will read Anthem first.
  24. i have not read either yet, but plan to read Atlas soon, since my wife raves about it and agrees with a lot of what Rand has to say. It will have to wait, as i am currently alternating my reading at home between The Rise and Fall of Nauvoo by B. H. Roberts and recent issues of Business Week. While at work i alternate between Car & Driver and Smart Money.
  25. i just updated to ff3 last week. ff2 kept hanging. i dont like the annowing things in the dropdown as i type in the address bar. i find it distracting and feels like commercials. otherwise i like it.
