  1. another recent instance.... my wife recently participated in an online cross-stiching show for wholesalers. it cost about 150 for her to register. i noticed that she had also recently sent a tithing check for about $350. she had a little over $500 in orders. $500 orders minus $150 cost = $350 profit....coincidence? i think not.
  2. Jan 1 i decided to pay my own tithing myself, rather than have my wife send one check. i decided i should be responsible for my own tithing. in feb i got a promotion and 6% raise. in march i got a 4% raise with my annual review. 6+4=10%...hmmmm...coincidence? i think not.
  3. i mey my wife in an online chat room for lds singles. i was 36 and she was 34 when we married. both first timers.
  4. a missionary recently told us they are not allowed to hold babies.
  5. yeah...how do you know it didnt take place, if you wernt there. maybe you werent invited.
  6. actually, the ammount you get varies. we are not going to get the 600 for our 2 children because according to the worksheet our tax liability was too low (0). we get back more than we paid, actually.
  7. how do you know?...were you there?
  8. snow, these are the reasons my wife stopped teaching in RS, as she taught by the spirit, and the manual, not just the manual. she was chastised 2 times from ward rs presidency. i also dont give talks in church anymore, as i dont want to rehash the same talk a GA gave in GC after 2 speakers before me do the same with the same talk. why do we need 3 people to rehash 1 talk? we can all read the ensign.
  9. if you paid tithing, and the church gave you the exact same dollar amount to pay bills, you would have demonstrated faith in paying your tithe, and could hold your head up and proudly say"I am a full tithe payer". not that you have to or need to do that, as it a personal decision what you pay. but you could feel good about obeying what we are commanded to do.
  10. i talked to a guy today who wnted to now how fast his 20k payment would post to his cc so he would have enough to put his 150k tax bill on his car...ouch!!
  11. i understand it is difficult. i have been there. i let my wife handle tithing for 5 yrs for our family. jan 1 this yr i let her know i would start paying tithing on my paycheck myself. i began writing a check twice each month when i bring home the printout of my direct deposit...about 3 days before payday. i write the check and then give her the paperwork for everything after i put the check in the envelope. since the first of the year i have gotten a promotion with 6 percent pay raise, then my annual evaluation with a 4% raise and a $550 bonus. like the Lord says...prove him wrong...the windows of heaven are opened to pour blessings upon us. don't get me wrong tho, i am not saying bad things wont still happen. i just found out i have more tears in my knee. i had a torn miniscus 2 yrs ago and have no cartilage in my knees. just walking is often painful and stairs always are. still....trust in the Lord
  12. i recommend paying the tithing first...the bishops storehouse has more than just beans.
  13. i have given several cashiers at walmart referral cards for my employer
  14. apology accepted...things discussed here i can pass to my daughter. alth she is not yet 5 i will certainly teach her the head shoulders knees toes tip when appropriate.

  20. you could scan the pages and email them one by one, or post them to be read a page a day... but you might need permission from the author
  21. that's cuz the polygamy here is swept under the rug
  22. a good reason for me to be logged out suddenly?
  23. my wife and i were talking about how difficult it is to buy clothes for our 5 yr old...well almost 5. most of the pants for even little kids are now the low rise in fashion...it disgusts me. i hate to walk up behind a gal as she bends over and have to see her thong out the top of her pants, and i dont like it on my 5 yr old either. and to the powers that be on this board, it tends to be annoying that i get logged out while reading threads and have to log in again because i tried to post and wasn't loggen in suddenly
