  1. Gotcha. I had this mental image of pioneers saying to themselves "Well, it's next-to-impossible to get California oranges, so we'll whine and complain and eat the veggies out in the garden".
  2. Do we know that sachi doesn't cut back on those as well? Just because you can't live completely off-the-grid doesn't mean it's bad to pick and choose what is possible for you.
  3. Depends. Did you volunteer in the church orchard?
  4. No man could survive in a female mind.
  5. Are you suggesting food shipped across the country is preferrable and the lack of availability was the sole reason people ate local produce?
  6. I dunno... I do think the Lord does want us to be mindful of where our food comes from.
  7. Seriously, it's about moderation. Video/Computer games can be a way to relieve stress, have fun, and even learn a few things.
  8. No, no, they get much more fussy about waffles. So many choices for toppings... you have to be careful.
  9. I've always toyed with the idea of going vegetarian as I really don't like meat all that much (fish is the exception). This thread has been a good read.
  10. Glad it worked out well.
  11. I blame my thing on emotions. I had two really good friends when I was little, and both sets of their parents smoked. So I have all these happy memories playing in these houses that smelled like cigarettes.
  12. I figure if I'm going to smoke something, I want intense nicotine, darn it! Though in my case I truly believe I should never even just "try" a cigarrette. I like the smell. I think I may be predispositioned toward them.
  13. What is the point of an e-cig anyway unless you were trying to quit smoking?
  14. The only thing I could possibly contribute to this is a story of my identical twin brothers and how my dad took the same one twice for a circumcision thinking it was the brother...
  15. Well, initial ds aren't too bad, but it's true about the "har'"
  16. Boo! Stick-in-the-mud!!! Though I believe it's been said that Utah has the most easily-understood accent.
  17. Good job!!!
  18. Watch and learn, my friend, watch and learn "Ki'n" "wri'n" "bea'n" "moun'n" And, a charming Utah city: "Lay'n"
  19. When you are raised in Utah (ironically, the "t" in Utah is the one t we can say) it's very difficult. I had to teach that particular phoneme to 1st graders and it's really not that easy. Sometimes hard "d" is hard to say as well, so it's just not the "t".
  20. All right, I confirmed the 11 year old leader thing. The all-powerful system that complains about everything had no qualms with registering a woman as the 11-year-old leader.
  21. I faithfully listen to Coast to Coast. I too got excited when I saw LDS Anarchy. As a blog, it might be fun to pick through HiJolly style. But I was hoping for anti-government LDS members wreaking havoc.
  22. YAY!!!!!!!! No advice, but I'll pray for you. Good luck!
  23. No it doen't. Why should I take the time to pause, think over the word I want to say, summon the physical effort of my vocal chords to create a "t" sound, think it over in my head to see if it sounds acceptable, and then finally say it?
  24. Mystery solved, then. Let's go get some bagles.
  25. For crying out loud, who has the TIME to say all those Ts?
