  1. Anytime, Vort. Anytime. I do trust that everything will work out in the Millenium, no argument there, for I believe God is good and just and merciful. But it's still nice to know the actual details.
  2. I guess the question is not whether or not the individual can be rebaptized, but whether or not it is necessary.
  3. This is a crucial thing to think about. Thanks for bringing it up.
  4. Not a problem whatsoever! I'm having quite a lot of fun discussing this and I'm glad you're putting up with me! I think in the end, I'll happily accept whatever the situation is; I'm just going what strikes me as the most logical.
  5. But we can't use that answer!!!
  6. I figure if you feel spiritually unsettled by anything and can't decide whether it's bishop-worthy or not, go to the bishop. I see no harm coming from it.
  7. I imagine it would be more or less the same process we have to go through... I don't see what their position in the church would have to do anything other than who they would confess to?
  8. So I suppose we could chalk up this comment to a mere typo?
  9. I suppose it would be okay, but I'm not sure if I would publically announce the "Hey, come be rebaptized!"
  10. My question is if Xaviera and Yolando are allowed to legally change their names...
  11. Based on my understanding, will happily accept correction. 1. No, Xaviera is not born in the covenant. 2. Neither is Yolando. I figure their parents aren't sealed. 3. Yes. 4. Yes, though now I suddenly imagine Suzie being involved at this point. 5. As long as no blood and genetics aren't involved, let the lovers do as they please. 6. Bride's parents. It's traditional. 7. I find all answers acceptable, though the third is the most polite and least awkward.
  12. I'm trying to remember if Joseph ever did go to the Rockies... and I don't think he did.
  13. I've never actually bothered to read any of her work, but that is the impression I get.
  14. Which I think makes your friend pretty much innocent in this. I do believe that the ordinance is real and good despite the lack of worthiness (I believe that falls upon that individual's head) but again, I can see where your friend is coming from.
  15. Sigh. What can you do?
  16. I suppose this is quite a grey area and I see a couple of possibilities: The Bishop figured the guy was improving enough, or the individual seeking rebaptism is honestly confused about the dates of when this person was sinning. There's also the very real possibility of the guy flat-out lied to the bishop. EDIT: I read that very wrong. But I think I still stand by much of my sentiment. If this individual was not speaking with the bishop, there's a lot going on that is out of your friend's hands.
  17. That's my concern. I suppose I have no problem with the show itself and I always figured it was about polygamous sects, not the official Church, but I would like to ask a polygamist his/her view of the show. I think Big Love and the Book of Mormon musical are decent ways to get people interested in the Church, but in and of themselves give zero useful information.
  18. Gosh. It IS disgusting.
  19. I don't really see any harm in it at first thought; I mean, it makes the guy happy. But then again where do you draw the worthiness line?
  20. He did say a lot of things, though I doubt that line would have been something his more devout followers would have supported. Why not, I don't know.
  21. I actually see no value in differences, but I also see no value in going out of our way to avoid differences. I don't see myself as arguing this from a "I want to look like me!" but more from a perspective that everything was created spiritually before physically, that our bodies WILL be resurrected--not some other bodies. I still don't see a sure argument for us all being physical clones.
  22. I don't think it's a particularly sad story, I'm sorry to say. While I do like the concept of socialized medicine, the States don't really have it. Instead of going to a charity, which was clearly an option, he spent all this effort trying to get people to take care of him! As for healthcare for prisoners, I support it. I figure those prisoners are often working.
  23. Heck, I'm kind of laughing at it! What a way to abuse medical options... should have just gone with the charity.
  24. That was pretty darn amazing.
