  1. And yet, when people bring up Glenn Beck or Rush Limbaugh, what kind of reaction do you resort to, no matter what the message that Beck or Limbaugh deliver? I daresay you probably have no real idea what Beck says, only that you can't stand it. You stopped listening long ago. Proof of that can be found in the fact that you keep bringing up the same things, time after time, they get answered, and then a week later you bring up the exact same argument that was previously answered. Pot, meet Kettle. Kettle, Pot.
  2. Being as that is tax day,the IRS may be checking for tax dodgers, so make sure you have copies of your 1040 form and all supporting documents when you cross.
  3. So, you're saying that it is through your faith that transubstatiation occurs, right? I am confused where your problem with people who don't believe that comes in. Is it required to believe that?
  4. Just a reminder, we will be cracking down on political subjects during this election season. We realize this is difficult even for some of the mods to resist, but we must do this to maintain political neutrality on the site. Endorsing for or against a political party or candidate will not be allowed.
  5. Really? Okay, I'm game. Please explain in scientific terms how a piece of unleavened bread and a cup of wine literally transform into flesh and blood. What's the scientific formula for doing that?
  6. No, baby blessings/giving a name are church ordinances, which require Melchizidek Priesthood Authority to perform.
  7. Actually, I saw it was on KUED last night again. What I saw of the show I thought was fairly even-handed, even though there were some things said that I would take issue with. It seems from my memory that some of the detractors tried to paint the church in a bad light, but the show didn't give them much credence either.
  8. The problem, Moksha, is not that you're trying to make a point, but that YOU'RE the one trying make the point. You have on numerous occasions berated the members of this forum for not being 'Christian' enough because some of us don't see things the same way you do politically. As has been pointed out previously, you have even attempted to compare some here to Nazis. Your credibility has been damaged as a result of your own words on this issue.
  9. I think you know the answer. You wrote it in your OP. What happens to him is really none of your business and you should have no contact with anybody to attempt to find out. The proper people have been notified and what happens after that is really out of your hands. Complete your repentance and get on with your life.
  10. Any father can give a father's blessing to his children. It is a function and privilege of being the patriarch and head of his home.
  11. Well, you could just do nothing and depend on the kindness of strangers to help you. Or you could attempt to be as prepared and be as smart about your storage as possible. A 72 hour kit should be the first part of your preparedness. Store it where it can be easily accessed and but also in a safer portion of the home. Also, encourage your neighbors and friends to have storage on hand. Chances are that not everyone's total storage would be destroyed. I would rather be somewhat prepared for likely emergencies than not prepared for anything at all.
  12. On the plus side, I quite enjoyed the Drew Carey Show, which was set in Cleveland, and LeBron James is living there for the moment, so you've got that going for you.
  13. I agree with the insistence that we not threaten others with violence in the chapel, and especially in the temple. When I am there, I believe all are our brothers and sisters. But when my brother or sister actively works to destroy the country whether they acknowledge that or not, I reserve the right to peacefully work against that agenda outside the walls of the church. The church encourages us to carefully study the ideas and agendas or our politicians and communities and countries and become actively involved in them. They counsel us to work in politics for agendas and candidates which we feel are most in line with our beliefs as we see them in a righteous manner. The church rarely endorses a particular agenda other than ones it deems as moral issues, and I have never heard of it endorsing any party or politician.
  14. Every time I hear someone lives in Cleveland I automatically say "I'm sorry". It just slips out.
  15. Check with your local meetinghouse library, they usually stock many of the old videos.
  16. I just wish you guys would quit talking about me like that. It's offensive.
  17. Last week's women's session was broadcast on KBYU in Utah.
  18. Yes, I am so sick of winter.
  19. Hmmm, I wonder how that happened. Maybe it was an accidental comparison?
  20. So far, what has been your favorite conference talk? I was impressed by both President Eyring's and Elder Ballard's. Great messages, and the spirit was felt. Sister Beck also gave a great talk.
  21. Words were not put into your mouth. And it would behoove you to find another baptist who agrees with LDS than Jack Chick, because he will be the first to tell you we are going to hell faster than you.
  22. No, you can start going back without seeing the bishop first. But I suggest you make an appointment with his executive secretary to visit with him when it's convenient.
  23. I would suggest you talk to your bishop about your situation. He is bound by confidentiality rules. I wouldn't worry about what others may think, worship is about your relationship to God, not what the gossips say behind your back.
  24. I've enjoyed the acting of this guy for a while, it's good to know he doesn't back down from his values too. From the article: "Neal McDonough is a marvelous actor who elevates every role he plays, whether it's in Band of Brothers or Desperate Housewives......... McDonough was sacked because of his refusal to do some heated love scenes...........The reason? He's a family man and a Catholic, and he's always made it clear that he won't do sex scenes........It has cost him jobs, but the man is sticking to his principles." 25. They voted me off the island.
