  1. Thanks for the link. Will check it out. There is not many places to post where there is real discussion between faiths. They always seem to stay separate, so there are dozens of forums to search for fellowship between faiths.
  2. Also have enjoyed many of Beth Moore's tv appearances and teachings. Have grown to expect the put down's for several faiths. It is just a way of making sure the speaker stays in the 'safe' circle. IMO. Some churches and television stations probably wouldn't allow a speaker that would not separate out those that they think aren't like them. She has some really good things to share, and I too have a friend that attends a study of her material. Just too bad to have that separation issue always brought out.
  3. Personal relationship with Christ puts me in the body of believers, so the relationship with other members of the body of Christ should be healthy and helpful. Not holding them higher than the head. The head rules the body, so each part just does what the head tells us, not another body part. This is not disrespecting to any of the rest of the body, it is just the only way a healthy body works, imho.
  4. This forum is always helpful for those who are not LDS to learn more about that faith, and in doing so we grow in our own. PC says it better than I can, his posts always encourage me anyway. I appreciate the honesty and openness of all who share .
  5. How very sad to know we have brought up a generation with this kind of mind set. As with the parents, so goes the children. Yesterday on Dr Phil a mother had her daughter working in a club where they dance for men. Just because there was lots of money made, they could see no harm.
  6. It is just the next big hurdle for the politically correct crowd. Abortion was pushed as 'choice'. Now the latest is that the homosexual has no choice. They like it both ways. Every tv show has their resident "gay". Putting a spin on it that if you resist you must be 'unloving' and hatefilled.
  7. Only as the Holy Spirit teaches is any Scripture accepted by anyone. When I read the Book of Mormon for the first time in my early years, it was just like bible to me.'Truth plain and simple. Having already read the bible through, I didn't find any problems reading any other scripture. Jesus has always helped me with the 'fear not' part of His plan. As for prophets, there have been many, and still it is the way Christ has His church. Apostles and prophets, teachers, ect... I have even seen a few on the tv, each must discern. As for me, when I married it was, what God has joined togeather let not man put asunder. If I am blessed with my dear husband of fifty years through all eternity, it will be a joy. Love never fails.
  8. I have really enjoyed all the answers given on this thread. So many times we don't really put down in words why we worship as we do. Jesus Christ says He will build His church with us, we are lively stones, living letters. May all the praise and glory be unto His name.
  9. People can change, only if they want to. Asking for the desire to be able to change is a prayer that may be hard to pray. Jesus will give us the desire of our hearts, if we humbly ask. The problem in this world is not enough plain and precious gospel is preached. Speaking out against wrong is one step, the other is telling the Good News. Who so ever will may come, if they truly desire their life changed .
  10. I was raised in the rlds church. Things started to go down hill imo in the eighties. Women in the priesthood. Themes to lead us toward a more liberal way of thinking. Many of the older saints didn't understand when I departed. I feel sad for them, they have no voice in many things, and I realized this when I left. Even in sunday school the Book of Mormon was played down and wanting to be inclusive (what ever that means) was on the agenda. The collage age thinking from so many progressive thinkers was on the move in all denominations. Breathing out the same old, hath God said, that was whispered in the garden in the beginning. I hope it doesn't make inroads into the LDS. It is a sad time for this old world.
  11. Short and to the point post, says it all. We live because Christ died for us. May our lives bring light to another soul.
  12. Family does say it so beautifully. Our relationship with our Heavenly Father and all our brothers and sisters. And we know as we are known. Each part of the Body of Christ in perfect harmony. Personal relationship means that each is involved totally in the other ones life. Sharing and caring, till the end. Life is so daily.
  13. Religious people are the most difficult peole to fellowship with. These forums offer more communication. All my years of being a christian, they are the only ones that don't want to talk about Jesus Christ. I used to say, 'what has the Lord been showing you?' Blank stare and silence. Didn't know I was out of bounds with such a remark, till someone told me. This is not everyones expierence I hope. Attending three very diffrent churches after giving my life to Christ. One tried to think salvation to death, the other wanted to intertain us, and the third was so dry it blowed away. Nice people in all. Only found fellowship with a few out of church believers. What does that say about religion?
  14. Have the mind of Christ. We travel this way to learn what we were created to be. If we have been born with or into, a sin nature, or inclination, then we put that to death at the cross. We don't try and 'think' or 'reason' it to death. Train up a child in the way they should go, not the way the world goes. This world has two things on its collective mind, at this time. Abortion and homosexual. Neither fits the plan of our Heavenly Father. No amout of evolution or justification can change that. Man only wearys the soul tryiing to do so. imco.
  15. An aunt once asked me if it was proper to start a fire on Sunday. Meaning cooking food. So I guess in older times they fixed food on the day before. The home heating fire would just not be let to go out over night. I would suppose feeding the animals would come under the "ox in the mire" part. where legalism trumps the light we have, another must sort out. If your heart doesn't condem you, then neither do I.
