  2. you know what I mean...He was God's son...the whole "1/2 God, 1/2 human" thing..of course He was fully human in a physical sense...just stating that due to who His father was, it may have been easier for him to accept his "family history" so to speak..
  3. I'm sure Christ had to come to grips w/ whatever he learned/was revealed just as Joseph had to come to grips with it...being that Christ is only 1/2 human though, I'm sure he had an easier time
  4. we went there when i visited my brother last month...his kids loved it, although we didn't really let them explore too much...my brother didn't want them to get their hopes up of getting to check out books since he is a west valley resident and you have to be a salt lake city resident to check out books...
  5. i'm extremely envious of the new SLC library...<insert mormon foul word here>
  6. what i want to know is...why is hyde so freaking obsessed with this? seek help..immediately...
  7. receiving your pat. blessing to renew interest in the church is a bad, bad idea... it's best to be personally worthy and spiritually ready...any further "requirements" are best answered by your stake patriarch...
  8. one of the best testimonies is how you live your life...
  9. the thing is Lindy, would you be so supportive and welcoming of bat's type of antics if it were to come from a new person on the board....would you put up w/ the constant LDS insults and demeaning comments from a newcomer? or is it simply because he's a "friend" so you don't find his actions that bad...
  10. which is what Sunbeams is...God loves us, Jesus is His son, we are all brothers and sisters...and also the fun part of how to make jewelry with dried noodles...ooooh and paint...ooooh and construction paper...you can do WONDERS with construction paper...eryou don't have to get into philosophy with her...i think Jenda put it perfectly...
  11. my question is: are you LDS? is she going to primary? i really like how the primary program approaches it...
  12. perhaps their padres are pretty people...*shrug* i seriously doubt their looks have anything to do w/ their status as olympians...you don't get into the olympics based on your looks, you get in based on your achievements and how well you can perform...perhaps "good looking" kids are more attracted to sports...who knows... i of course remember some butt ugly football players in high school though...lol!!
  13. we actually had our home teachers explain it to us like this: our families will replace the wards and stakes...but i think they were just pontificating..lol
  14. I don't rationalize it...I firmly believe that once a woman and man are sealed to their children, that bond can never be broken unless by choice...divorce, not choosing to be w/ that man in the eternities...doesn't matter...your children are your children forever and ever... and curvette, it sounds like you are having more and more issues w/ the church...
  15. i believe this is a ray-ism..he's stating that he knows his parents wouldn't choose to be sealed to each other...therefore he can't be sealed to his mom...which goes against what the temple president told me...he said even if they were divorced in this life, they are still to be sealed together in the afterlife....they can also be sealed to their new spouses and at that time they will make the choice as to who to be sealed to....and ray will be sealed to both his mother and his father....
  16. i'm sorry ray, but where do you get the doctrine that your mother will not be sealed to you? my father's parents divorced...the temple president explained that they should still be sealed TO EACH OTHER and all their children from that marriage will be sealed to them...if both parents have remarried, they are also sealed to their new spouses...in the "end of it all" they will choose which sealing to fulfill...same way you can seal a woman to all of her spouses, given that she has the final choice as to who her "eternal husband" will be...we do not make that choice for them.... but they have to be sealed to each other for the children to be sealed to both their mother and father....you will always be your mother's son, even in the eternities...you will not be sealed to your stepmother, you will be sealed to your mother unless you purposefully choose to be sealed to your stepmother, and i think the only way the church allows that is if your stepmother adopted you...
  17. My husband gave me a few priesthood blessings containing certain promises that took 2 years to be fulfilled...God's timetable is not our own...you can't expect to always give a blessing and have it immediately fulfilled....that's where faith and patience come into play....
  18. meh...changed my mind...will just have to learn to completely skip over bat's posts in the future...
  19. matt...when EVERY reply he makes to my posts is rude and sarcastic, i stop finding it funny..i posted joyous news w/ a funny comment about a future RM and instead of simply saying "hey congrats!! a boy how wonderful!!" he has to insult the choices i will be making as a parent...
  20. is there something in your personality that compels you to just be rude and beligerent?yes, my children will be raised LDS..that's kind of the point of being an LDS family...and i EXPECT my children to serve missions just as i EXPECT my children to get straight a's, full scholarships to the college of their choosing, marry in the temple and live long and happy lives... if they don't, they don't...but i will raise them with my expectations, just as every single parent on this earth does...that's part of parenting...
  21. Of course I expect all of my sons to fullfill honorable missions :) Will be equally as thrilled if my daughters choose to serve missions as well, and of course..I expect temple marriages out of all of my children :) we'll be naming him Isaac...i think lol!!
  22. WE'RE HAVING A BOY!!! YAY!!!! A future little RM tee hee heee
  23. *shrug*...I'm not spouting that as absolute fact...just MY understanding...may have come from a question asked a while back, I don't know... the reasoning being: you have to know who the mother and father are to seal a family together...however, this couple could choose NOT to be sealed to EACH OTHER in the afterlife, thus nullifying their sealed bond, but they would still be eternally sealed to their children and descendants... but like i said, any temple president can answer that more truthfully and logically...:)
  24. I think that him making money is a good idea. And so does he! he's got to already have loads of it by now though! Enough to last him as long as he wanted. all the more reason to keep making MORE money...wonderful world of capitalism...you have the ability to make money legally, no one around to stop you....he starts sucking in his movies, he loses money....why should anyone have the ability to say to him "ok, you've had your share...now let some other kids on the playground have a chance"...rofl
  25. it was my understanding that if your sealing w/ your spouse is taken away, you are still sealed to your children... maybe you could call the temple president of the nearest temple and ask them...they are always the best resource for answers and they LOVE to give advice :)
