  1. uh..jack...that was kind of the whole point...way to go on giving away key parts of the movie!!!
  2. I would love to go to Rome and Greece and Jersusalem and take in the rich history of the Catholic church..doesn't detract or minimalize our church's rich history...I don't see a "competition" between the two...I even find awe and inspiration in the rich history and theology of Buddhism, doesn't detract from my faith in the LDS church... why compete?
  3. I LOVED this movie!!! So many twists, he gets better and better w/ each new movie!!
  4. i just LOVE being called a breeder...it's so....offensive... and thank you Ray..nice to see there are some mature men on this board who can write an entire thought without resorting to sarcasm and tacky wit :)
  5. please be mindful when referring to the temple ceremonies...thanks!
  6. i actually stopped showing skin about 3 months ago...no worries there...and actually, my belly is quite small still..i just like to joke about it because i CAN!! lol
  7. Lindy I think the main reason for that is that you've grown up in a country with a voluntary military...many, many countries around the world have a mandatory military force and it's everyday life to them... change is always something that can rub us the wrong way...but i really, REALLY don't think this will be an issue...just something to stir the pot and to slant political views... i read this one liberal talk show host's view on it...said even though the democrats introduced and pushed the bill, it's still all GW's fault cuz he's the president...*shrug*...i think some people view the president as this everpresent diety sitting in Congress controlling everyone like puppets..ROFL!!
  8. And I thought I was alone in the "life sucks" department....thank you girl for letting me know I am not alone! 2 years of infertility and the lovely side effects of treatment, disease and depression will generally give you the "life sucks" attitude...lol...which is one minute reason i was so shocked when i found out i was pregnant...you get used to "NO!" all the time and develop a sour attitude towards the whole thing and Heavenly Father sneaks in a little "yes" just to shake things up... lol now..my child is kicking my kidneys, i'm having a BH contrax and my tailbone hurts like a muthah...time for moi to go lay down...good news is: i renewed my temple recommend after 8 mo!! yay!! we're going to the temple Friday night...now if I can sit comfortably throughout the session!!
  9. Lindy that sums up the past 2 1/2 years of my life so well it's chilling!!
  10. followed by fruit creme starburst... no wonder my belly is so big...i'd post a pic, but i'd frighten the little children away...lol
  11. outshined, that's basically what that congressman stated in the link i provided...it's too expensive to train voluntary military personnel....that the money for involuntary enrollment is better spent on training current enrollment... and i agree ray!
  12. hmmmm......... I haven't been a moderator or admin on this site for quite awhile, but I think that Kevin has hit it right in the bullseye. Not sure what you are "reading'' between the lines, but he is saying the same thing that the moderators here and Heather has said for a long time. Marsha IMO, Kevin is saying that opinions about JS or other church leaders will be censored if they do not reflect lovely, mushy, lets put them on a pedestal sentiments. M. sounds uplifting to me...but I'm just a dumb Mormon rofl...
  13. From what I read on the issue, it's all a political move...not something to "really" worry about... as far as vietnam, no I didn't grow up w/ that...but I've grown up watching the world evolve...do I approve of this war? Yes, because it's not just "Bush's war".....this country has been wanting to do what Bush did for the past two decades...do I wish it was over? of course!! no one WANTS war, but it's a neccessity of life... Keep in mind, WWI and WWII we had the draft to "take care of someone else's country"...the war in Iraq is no different... As far as "mandatory" service, I don't see a problem with that...I think we're one of the last countries in the world to NOT have a mandatory military...however, everything I read makes these two bills out to simply be amendments to the already existing "draft law"..the changes are including women and changing a few other language bits... Apparently according to some liberal talk show host, this goes up for vote in December...
  14. obviously you two aren't going to agree or see eye-to-eye..so why bother lol
  15. http://www.zwire.com/site/news.cfm?BRD=168...6&PAG=461&rfi=9
  16. What..you're upset about the draft *which has been around for HOW long?* or are you upset about the fact that they're amending it to include women? THIS is what happens when feminists insist that women can do everything men can do.... and just so there's no confusion and no "bush bashing"...this bill along w/ bill HR89 which states the draft will be in force by june of 2005 were introduced by 7 democrats... thank you :)
  17. I agree Spencer...
  18. does anybody else automatically skip over everything this guy writes? or is it just me?
  19. Cheetos taste so dang good?!?!?!?!?!
  20. because there are those of us who are plain sick of the remarks :)
  21. you see it as an ultimatum, but it's still a choice...you choose to follow the commandments and go to the temple, or you don't... and it's not like the WoW is the only requirement to get a recommend!!!! in the end, no one is forcing you to abstain or partake, you are the only one who can make that choice and live with the rewards or consequences thereof.. for me, it's an obedience issue...:)
  22. o'douls...*shudder*
  23. actually..if you're honest, you can't.... and WOO HOO I'm renewing my recommend tomorrow night!! FINALLY!!
  24. thank you spencer...:)
  25. my husband is one who avoids saying "i know"...he will tell you that he strongly believes that the LDS church is the only "true" church...it's one of his pet peeves, as he says "Joseph Smith knew as he saw God the Father and Christ the Son in person..he received that revelation directly..I have not, I rely upon my faith and my understanding of the Gospel as well as the influence of the Holy Ghost, however I have not seen God the Father nor Christ the Son...so I can only say that I believe..."
