I think if a person feels there is no hope then what's the use. Kill and kill again...who cares cause you are going to hell anyway. I do not believe that's what the atonement is all about. I think as it states in D&C is correct. “I, the Lord, will forgive whom I will forgive, but of you it is required to forgive all men.” [D&C 64:10.] 3 Why would we do Temple work for the dead if there was no hope for some of them. I am sure Temple work has been done for many of those that have murdered. SpiritDragon I really like the answers you give throughout these forums. You seem to be right on top of it. Thank you!

Husband is out of town and I was bored sitting at home so I went to see Despicable Me 2. He and I actually went to see it when it first came out, but we only have 1 show in our tiny town and that's what came to town this Friday. I love it... made me laugh all by myself. Popcorn was yummy too.

I wouldn't be bothered as long as it doesn't bother you. Myself... I love having a clean house. An idea you might want to try is having a house cleaning party. If your friends love you so much and you love being with them, and you all like to talk ... try asking a few of them over to help out while you chit chat and clean. Have pizza or something fun to eat. I think it's fun to wash dishes while someone is drying them and talking up a storm.

Welcome Valerie. I felt the spirit move in me when I read your post. As Loudmouth_Mormon stated... Gospel Principals is really straight forward and easy to understand. You will probably have lots of questions, but there are tons of people here that are willing to help. I believe you have found where you need to be! Angel

Don't forget all the pesticides sprayed over our fields. It's not just the wheat...it's most everything we eat. It all makes us sick and have different health issues.

I wouldn't go for anything with payments...especially when you already have a car with low miles and running fine. I'm with finding a hobby or something around your house that needs to be taken care of... or add to your food storage. At least that way you won't have payments. I think, if it sounds to good to be true...

That's awesome! You have to be at the door 1/2 hour prior to your scheduled time or they could give your seating to stand by people. We go in about an hour prior because the choir is practicing and you get to see and hear them. It's pretty amazing. Each time we have gone our tickets were for really close to the front seating...but, this time our tickets are for the balcony. But, it doesn't matter because all seating is good and they have the big monitors so no matter where you sit you can see. Also, the First Presidency, Apostles, etc enter from the right side as you look down to the front. The Spirit that enters with them is overwhelmingly wonderful. There isn't anything open around Temple Square on Sunday. I am not sure what is open on Saturday... but just sitting around people watching is fun. LOL

That sounds awesome. You can always watch it on youtube when you get home. Enjoy your vacation.

It really is powerful!

The sessions go 2 hours for AM and 2 hours for PM. Our ward let's us know when they get tickets and we just have to ask for them. I am not sure if all wards get tickets or just some or what. I just know that we have been able to get them for one session for the last 3 years and this year we got them for 2 sessions... Saturday morning one and then the Sunday evening one.Saturday there are things opened around Temple Square, but Sunday you will have a hard time finding anything opened. This is a picture I took from the April conference. We were really close. You can see the Prophet and his Counselors behind him.

Nice to meet you. Welcome!

You would have to read almost 22 pages and hour to read it in a day. I am positive I couldn't do that!

Help me understand excommunication
AngelMarvel replied to TalkativeIntrovert's topic in General Discussion
I guess the restoration would start with the person that was ex'd. They would have to have a desire to come back. Talk to the Bishop. If he stopped going to church since he was ex'd, he would probably have to talk with the Bishop and prove himself worthy again. I really am not sure of the whole process....but, I would think if he left and now wants to come back that would mean he never went through any type of counsel with the Bishopric. Hope it all works out. Angel -
We usually have our FHE on Monday mornings because we take care of mom and dad. They are both old and disabled. They go to bed EARLY! So, mid morning's work best for us. Husband and I sometimes have other things going on and we have our FHE on another day. It doesn't really matter the day or the time...it's getting your family together to enjoy each other, share your busy lives, and have a lesson about the Lord...and some yummy food after. I would never worry about what others say about how YOU have your FHE or when you have it. The important thing is to have that time with your family. Angel

I know....but we only have money for motel and gas for Saturday night and Sunday. Our conference tickets are for Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon...so we will stay the night Saturday, but can't afford Friday too. My husband is out of town right now but I will talk with him when he calls and see what he thinks. I know I am new here, but it would be awesome to meet face to face with members.

Help me understand excommunication
AngelMarvel replied to TalkativeIntrovert's topic in General Discussion
It's probably just easier to give you this link. It really informative. LDS Ensign I had that same question about a year ago and found that article. Explains it nicely. Angel -
I kept thinking I jumped to the wrong thread and backtracked a couple times because it went off topic on the other page. Got me confused...and it doesn't take much to do that. LOL I live about 2 1/2 hours from SLC so there is a chance I could go. I will check the calendar and talk with my husband. What is the cost? Motel, food, etc? EDIT: Never mind. That's the weekend of General Conference and we are going to that. Maybe next year if you have it.

I was baptized over 40 years ago but left the church. I came back to the church about 3 1/2 years ago. I was given a calling in less than a month of coming back. That calling was Primary teacher of 6 going on 7 year old children. My husband and I travel for his work, so we left for over a year and I was released from my calling. We came back home about 7 months ago and I haven't been called yet. My husband said that the Lord knows when the time is right and He will reveal to the Bishopric that information. I was just thinking of going in to talk with the Bishop yesterday before Sacrament, but didn't have time. Low and behold I was stopped before leaving Church by the Ward Clerk and asked if I could meet with the Bishop on Tuesday afternoon. I think it will be about a new calling... YES! I will let you know what it is after I see him. I don't even want to guess at it....

Do you believe every word of the scriptures?
AngelMarvel replied to tovarisch's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
You took the words right out of my mouth. I couldn't have said it any better. Thanks for this great reply. What we don't know here will one day be revealed to us beyond the veil. Angel -
My husband is like a Dr. Doolittle. He's always bring home sick animals or they just happen to find our house. We have 2 dogs, 3 birds, and 2 cats. The one dog just happened to find our house this winter. She was injured. We tried to find her owners but no one claimed her... so we have her. She turned out to be a wonderful dog. Then we had a turkey that fell off the turkey truck that was going for the kill. She was adorable and husband also helped her get better. She followed us around like a dog. While we were out of town a wild animal came on our land and killed her. So sad! We adopted a chicken because the rooster didn't like her. The previous owners got rid of the rooster so we gave the chicken back. There were other animals ...but they have come and gone. Either found homes for them or they found their owners again. Oh... and the cat that found us that had NO teeth and two sets of paws on both front feet. It wandered on our land too. Living in the country is fun. Love our animals.

September 2, 2013 - Picking and choosing commandments
AngelMarvel replied to pam's topic in Daily LDS Quotes
Amen to that! I know so many that believe strongly in keeping "some" commandments but don't keep others. They think that "those other" commandments must be meant for someone else. LOL I know I am not perfect in keeping them...but, I do try my best and repent, repent, repent for he rest. Have a lovely day. Angel p.s. How do I get an avatar in or is that function still not working? Oh, and my signature doesn't show either... and I have one in my profile. -
I just got tickets to go to the General Conference...so excited. We have gone for the last 3 years to one session each conference. We are so blessed to live close enough to go to Salt Lake City where it is held. Is anyone else going?

Thanks Pam. Trying to check everything out here...but, busy doing some stuff right now. I thought I put in an avatar, but it looks like it ended up as my profile picture. LOL
