  1. You haven't mentioned kids yet, so I will assume that you have none. If you decide to stay with him don't have any kids at least not until he has proven himself to be a grown up. Sadly you married a man child this is far too common. To those who say that it's ok for grown men to play with child like things here is the perfect argument against it. My 2 cents See a MFT and give him a deadline to shape up and be a man. When he misses his deadline see an attorney.
  2. Your link is to a UK website are you not in the USA?
  3. I would reveal my source. While my child is under the age of 18 living in my house there is no expectation of privacy. I would make it very clear that yes I read her diary and I know what's going on. I don't need to out-fox my kids. I need to hold them accountable for their actions when I become aware of them as soon as I become aware of them.
  4. No one in this thread has said it but it has been said in other threads.
  5. So out of one side of your mouths you say that whatever the prophet says is doctrinal, but out of the other side of your mouths all the stuff that happened in the past doesn't count and wasn't doctrinal. ????? Pick a side guys. For the record I think the Ban on the Priesthood was a matter of policy established by Brigham Young later rescinded via "revelation" because it was a bad policy. The tough part is explaining away 100 plus years of bad policy. Which I suppose has been done by writing and essay and saying don't question it.
  6. How old do you think the earth is? How long do you think it takes continents to form?
  7. Really? tell us all about it...
  8. Local flood if it even happened at all.....
  9. As well they shouldn't I don't think it is the policy to turn anyone away You need to get a grip on reality, if you may die as a result you "should" consider your attendance very carefully. Sometimes even a righteous desire can be sinful if it leads to the harm of others or yourself but we live in a world where people do not have to be responsible for their actions nor care for the welfare of those surrounding them. We can choose to play God with our own lives if we want to and no one better ever dare say anything contrary to what my "righteous" desires are. How dare they. Did someone say they were EVIL? show the post to prove it or redact your false post. Again, anyone who is worthy "CAN' attend the temple. Whether you SHOULD or should not is a personal decision. Individuals are allowed to hold their own opinions about such actions. Which opinions are NOT reflective of church policy, and are solely held by the possessor of such opinions for their benefit or detriment as the Lord sees fit.
  10. I am not sure that the "church" has a responsibility to ensure that "good" talks are given on Sunday. I see it as a problem at a local level. However a quick google search turned this up. SO I guess the "church" has addressed it on some level. https://www.lds.org/church/news/professor-teaches-steps-for-giving-better-sacrament-meeting-talks?lang=eng&_r=1
  11. It's one thing to die of natural causes it is another to play with fire I think that all should be allowed in the temple. Careful thought and prayer should be given when you have extenuating circumstances. I.e a disability
  12. Yeah we are. Hypothetical, you leave your companion animal at home, you take a flyer going to the temple because you really think that it is that important. You die in the temple. How will God judge you? As a saint for trying to do his work or as a dummy for throwing away the life he gave you?
  13. Being selfish is a sin, if you casually throw away your life to satisfy some inner desire you have sinned. Can going to the temple be a sin? Sounds like maybe yes... Apples and Oranges.....
  14. You die because you choose to attend the temple, you were not a good steward with the life you were given. You selfishly threw it away instead of having the faith the God would make things right for you in the next life. The life of one living person is greater. Our ancestors will get their opportunity they have been promised it. Again the Lord will make all things right. In this life we have an obligation to serve to the best of our abilities and not be frivolous with our lives or in our decision making.
  15. I should rephrase. They can attend the temple, but shouldn't. Let me rephrase again. I OMEGA wouldn't attend the temple if I had a medical condition that required the animal by my side at all times. I would not want to be disruptive to others or cause any sort of distraction that takes away from the work performed in the temple. Why take the risk if your life hangs in the balance of this animal alerting you to a potentially disastrous circumstance.
  16. Sounds like due to medical issues they would be unable to attend the temple.
  17. First is this a seeing eye dog or other medically required animal? i.e for seizures etc? or is it just a feel good dog? I don't think animals of any kind are allowed in the temple. I will assume it is a companion for comfort. Leave your dog at home in a kennel, or with a friend. If you insist on traveling with it leave it in the hotel in a crate for a day. We all need to remember that it is just a dog (not a person) and it will survive.
  18. Well I'm a guy so I don't do those things. (I want to be inclusive and I'm not saying that as a guy you can't do those things)
  19. Yeah it's $500.00 for the ball point......If you want a Fountain pen it's just south of $1k
  20. Your wife or the guy? If the guy I'd take my chances and repent later if needed.
  21. Nice things cost money, you know that...Your example is a little extreme. If you have to finance your toys you shouldn't be buying them.
  22. Eh, it's just about allocation of your disposable income. The same guy who writes with a Bic might drive a Mercedes, while I'll drive a VW. The guy who spends $6k on a snowmobile or jet ski might never buy a nice watch.....
