There's one little restaurant in town that serves a very good skillet breakfast. The rest of their food stinks. So I only go there for breakfast. I order water because their oj is the worst and the milk comes in a warm carton. I went there with some co-workers for lunch once and all I could think was "who could screw up a burger?" Went there for dinner once because after the storm, the power on our side of town was off for hours. It was baked but was it really chicken? Of course not, it was a pork chop. I know because the waitress ran over and got it and brought me the baked chicken that she served to someone else. They had sliced the chicken so you know that they probably ate some of the sides too. I haven't had one of their skillets since 1997. Well, I shouldn't say all their food is bad because I do go there for dinner sometimes. They make the best pork chops in town.

Well, I think it would be fascinating to go online and order Sacrament Talk tapes from DB Store from any ward in the Church. You could be listening to talks all week long from across the country or around the world. You could even order talks from your ward when you have to be away or talks given before you became a member. Think how your Testimony could grow from that experience. I am sure that Missionaries would benefit from the talks as well. It's a wonderful idea. I have a LDS friend who travels the country with her husband in an RV. They have met a lot of other LDS Travelers as well. They said it would be like a "home cooked meal" to have tapes from their ward. This will be a great campaign for the New Year! All LDS Families will be reunited and grown children can listen to their parents giving a talk when they have to live miles apart.

We always open our "regifts" as they come to the house just in case it is food! Is there any reason that we do not record the talks given at our Sacrament Meetings? Their are relatives who cannot travel to hear loved ones give a talk and it would be nice to send them a recording. There are also people who cannot attend every Sunday due to health issues and I think it would bring them closer to the Lord to hear the talks of their fellow members. I know that a lot of Churches provide this service and it seems very kind and generous. It would also be very nice to get recordings for those who provide some very nice hymns. It would obviously be a great project for an interchurch sharing of the gospel. It would definitely strengthen and unit all the wards world wide to one another. Members have such wonderful church stories to share when they have traveled and visited other wards.

Everyone should learn something new this year that they have never given thought about knowing. No-No's Cannot be something covered in a "How To" magazine. Cannot be something covered in a "make-over" video. Cannot be bungie jumping, skydiving, ...etc any one time heart stoppers. Would you like to learn to pluck duck feathers and make your own pillow/down coat? If you already do that for a living, would you like to learn how to make an imitation seal seaman tuffy jacket? Would you like to learn underwater weight walking or water cycling? If in the US, Would you like to learn how to pull over and stop on the left side of the road when stopped by the Police? Would you like to learn which truck drivers use a radar detector before your next road trip. (you never want to pull out in front of them who have one.) Would you like to learn plastic surgery so you can sculpt professionally? Would you like to learn how to turn your wood burning stove into an ice machine?

I have termed some members "missionary" experience as "The Yo-Yo Effect." That is to say that regular attending members will shun a person until they stop attending. Shun to mean either being verbally/etiquette rude or just not talking to them (invisible). When that person/family stops coming (about 4-6 weeks later), members will start pestering them until they come back. Again being snotty to them or not including them and again those folks leave vowing never to return. Then it becomes an ongoing cycle.

Baby Mice are very small and can get into anything. A mouse, rat, or other rodents can live for a very long time without food and water (nutrition as we know it) and still grow to full adulthood. It could be that the lone mouse lived by eating the litter or might have been the parent mouse who consumed the litter to survive. Cats put their "catch of the day" in the most unique places especially if they know that you will take it away from them. We caught one of our cats trying to paw a dead mouse into the VCR a few years ago. Occasionally, he would go in there and paw the front of the VCR. I looked in there with a flashlight and found some yarn, a screw, and a couple of kitty treats!!! LOL

This is a little late for your present project but this is how we do it in my community. We make a community announcement in the newspaper and on the local news program (they have a spot on their program for this). We have several drop-off locations and our volunteers work at those locations taking in the canned goods and organize them. We receive not only canned goods but also boxed goods (cereal, pasta...etc). We have already arranged to send the donations to six or eight food banks. So basically our volunteers are just taking the items and putting them into marked boxes and then they are loaded and a few volunteers haul them to the food banks. People are much more interested in this because they can drop off their donations and do not have to wait at home. A lot of people just cannot walk through a neighborhood and carry heavy sacks and boxes. Also you are dependent on good weather conditions. It takes a lot more vehicles as well. People leave home about 10:30 a. m. on Saturdays so you do not find many people at home. Sometimes the community has activities where they charge a small admission fee but will waive it to people who bring a few canned goods for the drive. I know the Zoo in a nearby town waives admission a couple of times a year for canned goods drives. In the Spring, our park waives the fee for paddle boating. DJ's will spin song request for canned goods dropped off at their radio stations. Just have some fun with it and everyone will want to do it again in six months.

I was following you there for a while CrimsonKairos but then I realized that this is the science data that has led to researching Mars. Which by the way is really not panning out from theory to fact. And it is also similar to the data used for investigating the moon which also did not pan out to this conclusion. Scientist have discovered in the recent ten years that the universe as we know it has been magnified or made larger. This course of study would have a greater yield of knowledge as to the creation as we would want to understand it. There are species that should have become extinct by nature alone but they still exist which blows a whole in evolution as we understand it.

Perhaps we should stop calling everything "The Fall" and that should bring real meaning to everything that is being called "The Fall." I have heard some people refer to the Crucifixion as "The Fall." And just what is that "Fall" supposed to mean?

Making a comparison of Religion vrs Evolution is similar to making the comparison of Free Agency vrs Imagination. The thing to ponder about evolution is why do we still have the earlier life forms existing. If birds evolved from fish, why do we still have fish? If we evolved from apes, why do we still apes? Was there only a certain type of species in these life forms that were able to evolve? It's hard to believe in the concept of evolution when you are standing in the middle of the Zoo. It's pretty easy to believe in evolution if you are just comparing pictures. But when you are standing face to face with an ape, Big Joe and Hollywood seem to be the only link to evolution. I don't believe E.T. was preparing us for visitors from another planet. I do believe that E.T. was helping us to better understand gifted/talented people...do not destroy that which you do not understand or envy.

I had always heard "eat with the seasons" to stay fit. Now days we can get all foods any season that we want them. Will I gain weight eating watermelon in December? I love eggnog smoothies in the summer. I tend to lose ten pounds during the holidays cause of all the running around. I gain it back in February from weather boredom!!! Best Diet Advice: Don't Double Meal !!! (that's like eating dinner and then having a bowl of chili later...or taking your lunch to work and eating lunch at a restaurant with a friend and then eating your homemade lunch later) Emulsifiers in foods can cause high cholesterol and weight gain.

This is just a half baked parable someone spun off of a science channel/Internet forum. We've had a lot of talks by someone who doesn't have a clue as to how much of our world is regulated by computers. While it is reasonable to acknowledge that other countries are capable of attacking our country with missles, it is unreasonable to believe that they have a "big red button." The only thing they would get by pushing the "big red button" in this day & age would be a delivery of office supplies from Staples. There are a lot of outdated science programs that are based on what once was theory or speculation. Excuse me, please; I need to "throw the big switch." Actually I'm just using the remote to turn off the TV. I hope that didn't confuse you any. If you find a You Tube on the used parts theory, I'd like to see it in action.

This is actually an interesting idea. People of flesh & bones living in the Celestial Kingdom. (Celestial - Latin meaning Heaven; and not the Kingdom of God on Earth). Which would conflict with the Terrestrial Kingdom (Earth or Living on Land). Which would conflict with the Telestial Kingdom (Light Kingdom). It would not seem that we are returning from where we came.

We buy those mousetraps where the mouse runs in and cannot get out. You find them quickly because they bang that plastic box all over the place. You can release them back outside just by turning the trap upside down OR you can check international mailing guides and mail them all to onyx. :)

My son was not home for Christmas this year. We sent packages in November, hung stockings, looked at childhood pictures. You see pictures of kids in t-shirts with heros on the front playing baseball and hugging big stuffed bears. You put out pictures of them wearing their Santa hats at Christmas time. You get pictures of his wife decorating their tree and pictures of his daughter playing with the toys you sent her for Christmas. Then you look at Brother Dorsey's post and see heros in t-shirts (and a lot of other gear). It is always a wonderful endearment to hear the guys in the back ground shouting Hi Mom when he calls. They make me smile. More often than not, they make me laugh.

The word "illegitimate" has been so abused by "Church People" that many people turn their backs on religion. A nut case in the Church recently told me that I was "illegitimate." I didn't know whether to laugh in their stupid face or spit on them. I just told him that he needed to experience a pineapple up his! He obviously does not know me or my family and his insult is not going to be forgiven in this life time!!!!!!! He needs to take a tour of hell.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep your life on board and teach other people how to prepare and have a wonderful family and a good life. That is what my parents taught me.

It really depends on how these conversations are generated. If you're just walking around pointing at people holding hands walking through Walmart and making suggestive remarks, you would be considered a rude idiot. If someone actually ask you then you should have a better answer and put some thought and compassion into it. Instead of talking about premartial relationships, you should be talking about family values. Many senior citizens are forced to not marry because they would lose their pensions. You might try keeping your mouth shut about other people's intimate relationships. I don't think putting other people down is a stepping stone for bettering yourself. Find someone who is able to conqueor greater spiritual heights and work to reach to their plateau.
