I have went online to Rootsweb.com. It will give me listings but that is all. Do I have to buy something to get the information? I know that most of our LDS Stake Centers have Ancestry.com.

No, Did you edit yours?

I am satisfied that the quote feature will not pick up the edit. Thank you.
-
This is the quote feature. Now I am going to edit the original post to see if I get this same quote or it the edit changes it.

The sky is brown. The grass is green. The earth is blue. Testing to see how the quote feature works.

Some members are editing their post after other members have made replies. This is unethical and dishonest. A post that has been edited hours and days after it was originally posted is unethical and dishonest. An edit should be made shortly after posting to correct a typo, left out word, etc. A quick reply may occur before that correction is made. It is obvious that editing a post hours or days after it was made is a change of the post contents that contradicts the replies. That makes such editing unethical and dishonest.

I have been using the FamilySearch.org site for a long time and have been registered for a couple of years. I have never accessed membership information and I did not see any display features for it. Another question: I had noted last year an entry for my ancestors (ggrandmother & ggrandfather) and had listed them in another county. I was quite offended since I had attended their funerals and know where they are buried. Today, I ran it and the entry is no longer there. Once you have entered information is it possible to remove it? I would like to share genealogy that I have without a doubt confirmed. Can I enter those records although my genalogy is not complete?

Elphaba: I am a dummie, could you summarize your first post? You are a much better author than some of the material that you post. Just make reference to it and then blow our minds with your own inspiring work. Sorry that I offended you.

Alaskagain: Have all the baptism/membership records been preserved since the LDS Church was organized? Is there any way to find out if a deceased person was a member of the Church?

This is the thought of most military personnel serving in Iraq.....Freedom is worth the effort and sacrifice. For most internet forum posters, it's just a controversial topic. IFP's are not mentally or physically involved or challenged. Then there are the politicians who are just using it for leverage because they want to be president. We voted for Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton, each twice, and they did not run their campaigns on "hot topics". When we go to vote, we do so seriously. And we voted for FDR three times...go figure!

I thought it was just vanity that I always felt that way. Then you hear the blue bloods talk about breeding lines and that seems even more vain. But the way you wrote it, it takes a load off. Thanks. Maybe some children were meant to be born to different generations with very different traits.

Black Walnut Extract (1 tsp) per day is the herbal remedy for dysentery. It should make the problem better in about eight hours and recovered within two days. If they are still trying to work in a vacation, the conditions must be more inconvenience than destruction. I am sorry that their vacation was spoiled. I will pray that they have a few good days to recover and for their health and safe journey.

As for premortal/pre-existence, families, marriages, children, it has it PROS mostly when things are going nicely in your life. When you are going through a rough time in your life, you may consider it one of the premortal Trials and that will give you the courage to deal with it (PROS). If your marriage is filled with irreconcilable differences and your children are always upset by the off spring of these problems, falling back on the premortal concept could cause you to stop working toward solving the problems (marriage counseling...etc.) (CONS). If your life has been filled with an ongoing chain or series of Trials, maybe you are trying to speed up or accomplish things and the time has not come to do that yet. This can readily cause a person to loose Faith. (CONS). Destiny is somebody's preordained future, the inner realizable purpose of a life, a force or agency that predetermines what will happen. And the saying goes "We are the masters of our destiny."

I want to apologize to the mosquito that I just killed without a swatter. I saw him in the kitchen sink and without even thinking I turned on the cold water full blast. He was sucked right down the drain. I know that I am supposed to use the swatter so they don't become endangered species. (On the other hand.....I can't believe it worked !!! )

My car was in the shop and I asked J to give me a ride to work for a few days. She had recently lost her husand in a tragic accident. I would just wait for her on the sidewalk in front of my building. The last day that she was to pick me up, it started to rain. I walked to a nearby church to wait under the porch. J saw me waiting there at the church but she did not stop. J was a good hearted person and I knew that she was not going to leave without me. J circled the block eighteen times or so before she pulled to the curb and stopped. It was still pouring rain and she got out of her vehicle with an umbrella and walked up to the porch. We were watching the rain when a man stepped out of the church and stood on the porch. After a moment, he put his hand on J's shoulder and said, I'm glad to see you. I've missed you. He and J walked into the church and talked for a little while. When J came out, we ran to the car and headed home. J had buried B not too far from where she lived in a country cemetery. She told me that it was time for her to move back into town. She seemed very much at peace with life. The last time that I visited her, she had rehung all of her velvet pictures of Jesus on the walls and the clock on top of the TV framed with a picture of Jesus was lighted and ticking.

I think that I have thought to much.

Atheist always surround themselves with religion. Have you ever met two atheist who knew each other? Have you ever heard of anyone going to an atheist meeting? Have you ever met a happy atheist? Have you ever met an atheist who celebrated atheist commemoration days? Atheist never think because thinking leads to prayer.

Outside of giving birth to Jesus, what role model does Mary have in religion? Or what is the significance of her presence in LDS Religion? (or any other religion?)

Are your children excited about the new school year? With the VA Tech Massacre ending the last physical year, the kids here seem to be uplifted to be back at school but the nonchalant is more a solemn at high school. When it was cool to leave tread marks on the campus parking lot, many are now wondering where those tire treads may lead in life. Or how their lives may be altered during the course of the year. The younger children (K-8) seem less demanding of material things and are showing more gratitude for the values in their lives. They have more compassion for their parents and their teachers and are more thankful for their homes and communities. Thats to say what the majority are like.

When my office job was not paying the bills, I took on a part time McJob, and cleaned a self-serve laundry after hours. When I told the kids that I was thinking about getting a real estate license, they rolled their eyes. I was juggling Tupperware on the side too. I was always worried that I would one day show up in the office wearing my McHat and start dispensing Tupperware lunches while I wiped down the break room. I had two or three unexpected car repairs and each was about $400. The cost of living was rising and my salary was not. I never went for a real estate license and I was able to give up the McJob after about 3 or 4 months. I cleaned the laundry for about two years. I eventually got a couple of raises and turned in my Tupperware kit. There is a rainbow somewhere between poverty( ) and modesty( ).

Thanks Frank... that's good to know. I'll keep the longer shelf-life items in mind (like Twinkies :) ). What our military people need most are calling cards so that they can talk to their families. AT&T has the military contract. You can add $20-$200 on his card. I don't know what the melting point is for twinkies but it is not all that good. There are American fast food places on his base so a gift card might be a great treat since he is supporting a family back home. I sent my son beef jerky and it was a nice "warm" treat when he got it. At 110F there, the heat index is something like 140F. Boxed packages are delivered faster than large envelopes. USPS has boxes of all sizes and shapes with "Priorty Mail" emblems. You have to fill out customs declarations forms and you should get one before you seal the box shut as you have to list all items being shipped. If you enclose a gift card just write cards & letters for security sakes. You will not be charged overseas mail prices. They charge you US prices so it is the same as sending it to their US military post. Attention: Remember that there are LDS Clergy who hold services for our military in the combat zone. Please remember them in your packages. One of them sent me a picture of my son at their services for Mother's Day. Hi Outshined.....may the force be with you!

NBC/Evening News did a series about retirement income and adult children moving back with their parents or children continuing to live with them. The series talked about when people are supposed to be working to build a retirement, they are spending money that they cannot afford on adult children. The report stated that retirement plans are not going to support these people and the outlook of retirement is very grim. You should look into affordable housing and state assistance when you need help so that your parents will not have to when they retire. Your parents' generation and your generation do not save money and do not live modestly.
