That naked clog dancing one was great, I've never heard of it. LOL:lol:

Enjoy that which is not the Iron Rod, bud, but at the same time don't get all upset when I say apologists are bunch of Nehorites who only write the philosophies of men mingled with scripture instead of focusing on what the L-rd has to say to us through H-s scripture and not through another person.

My maternal great-grandparents converted from Orthodoxy and moved to Utah soon after. I also have a number of Jewish friends (some of which read this site--I found about LDS Talk from a paper given at NCUR last year from a Jewish Girl who was writing about religious identity) and why should I go about offending all the nice Jewish kids reading my posts (plus, who knows if my g-grandma is reading, do you know what Jewish grandmothers are like?).My paternal grandparents are Scots from Sterling and Bonnyrigg and would care one way or the other. -
I call it what it is. The guy is one. Reading their pap only leads people astray. Stop doing it and stick to conference reports, scripture, and books by current GAs.

Dude, I listened to what that father had to say and it killed me. My kids were concerned that I was a little over wrought, but I think this is the kind of anguish Father Lehi had when he went to the L-rd.Our world is falling apart. However, I do not want people to be screaming for the head of the guy who committed these crimes other then to convict him legally. I was reading some of the Trib forums, and the posts were disgusting. Revenge seeking is wrong too. However, defending your family with knowledge is also important. I like the sex-offender sites. A friend lives in the Boulders in Provo and she is very active communicating with her neighbors about those who also live in the complex who are sex-offenders. I don't like chasing someone after they have paid for their crimes, but too often they are repeat offenders and children and women do not need to be revictimized when one of the animals gets out of jail. After all is said and done, I will still pray tonight for the family and for children everywhere.

Skalen, I was helping my son prep for his mission all week (he reported this morning) and had not watched the news or checked the Internet for the last two weeks. We had been on a spiritual high and this terrible story caught me by so much surprise that I actually cried after I read it (I also had a headache, but the spiritual high thing is also true). This world is such an awful place. I really feel bad for the family and the Burmese community in Utah. This was such a loss; I am still trying to get over it.

As apologists are neither leaders or teachers, unless they are so called or are general authorities, but are paid for their priestcraft, I am free to criticize them and their absolute arrogance and printed blathering whenever I feel like it. Skousen, Nibley, et al. and the nice seminary teacher in my ward (and all the CES monkeys at BYU) have no authority in the church to speak for its doctrine only those called, set-apart, and sustained in conference are. All these little Nehorites, who publish through D-Book (except afore mentioned GAs), have no right to honor, privilege, or critical refuge from me or anyone else.Do not elevate those who deserve absolutely nothing and ought to be banned from being quoted in Sacrament Meetings and Gospel Doctrine, PH & RS Lessons.

Party? I haven't been to one of those since 1991--work (which I'll be doing instead of going to Priesthood Session)Sunday Conference or Saturday?

Nice, but of course there was temptation in the preexistence as we had to determine for ourselves whether or not to follow Th- F-ther's plan or lucifer's. There would have been some (or a lot--as we do not know exactly what happened) when people recognized the error of their ways. -

That's right. The problem will then be when this moves on to Universities and Graduate Schools. -
Who cares, Skousen (and all apologists) is a dingus.

I think I would agree with the student. When I write in college, I always write about religion. Every paper, every research project focuses on the following three items: The subject's impact on religious identity The subject's impact on urban issues The subject's impact on the discursive elements between various religious groups in an urban setting I have never received a failing grade. Why? I write well and I always fulfill the assignment in the process. The teachers in high school should be held to the same parameters that university and college instructors are in grading. Students must value their first-amendment rights, just as administrators should, and defend them whenever possible. The problem is that it is now okay to discriminate against religious people and so narrow-thinkers will. -

Your patronizing attitude I can handle, but your creation of complicated nonsense when the gospel is so plain and beautiful is intolerable.Teach me teach me that which is simple and pure begged the little stream, but drown me drown me with that which is mercurial and nonsensical begs humanity. "Here is my secret-strength," the philosopher states: "my blazing intellect and the ability to confuse. Do you want more to drink, try the fire-hose of my throbbing brain." -
Canuck, I love you. Thank you very much for this lovely post.
