Safely Passing The Sacrament These Days
anatess2 replied to UtahBuilder's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
This is the Catholic way. But you forgot about the linen rim wipe in between sips. -
A parent doesn't have to teach his kids history. A parent NEEDS TO TEACH his kids good manners and right conduct which includes self-discipline, repentance, forgiveness, humility and charity among other Godly virtues. A parent doesn't need to know history himself. A child will learn history out of curiosity. "Nobody taught me this" - is a victimhood mentality. The attitude that it is somebody else's fault that I didn't know X - that is an indication of a lack of virtue. So yes, a parent can successfully parent even when such parent is illiterate if the parent successfully instills Godly virtues in his children, especially the virtue of humility - the acknowledgment that I don't know everything and, therefore, I can learn something from everybody else, living or dead, abolitionist or slave trader.

CHAZ renamed again—the Seattle Police-free Autonomous Zone
anatess2 replied to Vort's topic in General Discussion
It's really... Capitol Hill Pretends It is Autonomous Zone but it's not as cool as Vort's SPAZ or Carb's SNAZ... -
No no no... he was fired because he was white and fired.

How about them white skittles?

All Callings Have Claim On Revelation
anatess2 replied to Carborendum's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
Last Thursday, I was walking with my son to the park where the park equipment are still closed and, I kid you not (pun intended), we saw a goat on the yard of the mobile home that is inside the park. I'm quite not sure why there is one mobile home towards the entrance of the parks around here. I'm thinking they work at the park or something. Anyway, it made our day seeing the cute little goat. -
Tons of people want it to stop but nobody is going to do anything to stop it. You know why? Because the time to stop it was when these people were born - 20 or more years ago. That's when their PARENTS could have raised them properly. So, you want to do something about it? RAISE YOUR KIDS PROPERLY.

That's EXACTLY why he won. The Republicans have lost their way. Ross Perot was the shot over the bow of the Party after the failures of Bush Sr. The TEA Party and Ron Paul tried to reform it, they failed, largely due to the fact that they were not able to put enough people in positions of power that can dislodge the GOP-E that occupied the top echelons of the party. They needed exactly the persona of Donald J. Trump - speaks the people's language, instinctively conservative but not tied to label affiliations, impervious to political machinations and media attacks, executive who knows how to set goals and achieve them, with the ideology of Ross Perot on the economy, Ron Paul on war, and the TEA Party on taxes and regulations who is not bogged down by fights over who gets to use what bathroom. Being a Meme Lord is a bonus - you won't believe how many people started to believe he IS the guy they need when he uttered these three words... "Only Rosie O'Donnell". There's no such thing as a necessary evil. There is such a thing as Every Human Being is Flawed. You pick the flaw you can live with.

Is that a psych nurse's specialty? To just listen to patients ramble on about their reality? I have almost zero knowledge on psych nurses jobs... but there has got to be a time when you start telling the patient to consider their reality might be skewed, right?

So, PM me. I'm a Trump Supporter. We can do a 1-on-1. If you want a sounding board that won't challenge your assertions as much as I will, try @Just_A_Guy - that is, if he's open to PM. He's a lawyer with a very good head on his shoulders and a good and faithful spirit in his soul.

So... help me out here. What exactly were you expecting or needing from this thread? Well... first you accuse us of bias, then when we turned around and showed you your bias you cry foul. That's not usually how discussions work. Usually, you make assertions, we challenge those assertions, then you defend your assertions. It's usually a pretty straight-forward process (which this thread was) until Godwin's Law or Shark Jumping gets invoked (which it hasn't... yet ).

So... if you were an Atlanta cop, would you have been one of the officers who called in with the blue flu?

The tone of his posts has changed lately. I wonder if everything is okay out there at the compound...

It WAS an either-or choice. So... there was this guy shipwrecked on an island begging God to save him... so a fisherman came...
-
Well, that was short... I was hoping you'd stay for at least page 7... you just might come out of it wearing a MAGA hat.
-
Not sure why defensiveness is bad. You made assertions, we countered your assertions, now it's your turn to defend your assertions... that's all there is to it.

I have zero affiliation with either "Left-leaning" or "Right-leaning". Remember, FOX is Paul Ryan. I call Fake News when I see it - wherever it is found. Now, that's funny that you think the liberal media outlets are more accurate on their reporting of Trump. That, to me, means you are captive to confirmation bias. Now let me ask you... how long did the liberal media outlets run with the Russian Collusion story?

Dude... you haven't seen nuthin' yet! @Vort and @Carborendum are two of my favorites on here. If you get triggered by their "tone", there's not much on the internet you're gonna be comfortable in. I'll give you a tip from a child of the nerdy 80's who programmed a pac-man game on a radioshack computer: "Tone" is mostly your impression of their tone and not necessarily the tone they're actually trying to convey. Therefore, it's always best to give everyone the benefit of the doubt that they are taking the time to talk to you to facilitate conversation and not to deliberately offend you.

And I posit... over and over... that if you've had Hillary Clinton as POTUS, not only will the USA have suffered, THE WORLD would have suffered more, especially after saddling us with 8 years of Clinton, 8 years of Dubya, and 8 years of Obama. Now, you're getting ready to saddle us with BIDEN.... ugh! There's a reason God calls imperfect people to rule at certain times in each dispensation.

I will demonstrate to you Fake News in one image... Ready? Now all those bolded phrases above is a by-product of Fake News. You're a nurse. I'm a Systems Engineer. I deal with DATA MODELS. We don't get personal with the numbers that's why they call Systems Engineers to come up with these objective models and not nurses who looks at the numbers and sees patients and family members they have to tell bad news to.

Evan McMullin... yeah. I still stand by my theory that Romney put the CIA plant LDS McMullin on the ballot to sabotage the GOP from getting to 270 and call for a run-off that will be decided by his pal Paul Ryan. "Character"... yeah, lots of people say that. They think people have to have a certain "character" when all they really want is somebody who PRETENDS to have such a certain character. Basically, you can be a sleazeball in private as long as you're a saint in public. Because the guy is actually doing AMAZING stuff for the conservatives in the GOP. Not the war-mongering neocons in the GOP-E mind you... And, if you think that Trump is taking conservatism TOO FAR to the right... then you're a neocon. The TEA Party did not try to take over the GOP for no reason. I did not call anyone mindless. I called engaging in politics like a team sport, mindless. And here you are, thinking Republicans value religious freedom, yet you face THE President who has actually defended religious freedom by EXECUTIVE ACTION rather than just claiming religiosity heading the Republicans and you're jumping ship. Where's your identity? I'm not very careful. But English is only my 3rd language, so I have a ready excuse.

Me too. I am a classical liberal (which is not the same as American liberal). I had more in common with the Libertarians than the Republicans and had more in common with the Republicans than the Democrats. I said a combination of most or all of these descriptors in all the US Presidents in my lifetime - which started with Jimmy Carter. Disclaimer: I'm Filipino. You'll have @Just_A_Guy on your side. I'll be taking the full on TRUMP 2020 BABY! side. I believe this has much more to do with Mitt Romney and Glenn Beck turning Never Trumpers than anything else. And, of course, I believe Trump has achieved more to attain the goals of American Conservatism than any other GOP President in my lifetime even after having all the institutions - including the GOP - against him. being a good Latter-day Saint = being a good patriot = being a good Republican. That's a sad statement. Very sad indeed. That's like... I'm a Mormon so I should be cheering for BYU instead of UU... mindless. Offense away... we're not snowflakes here.
