SL, I like your idea of laying it out there for the Bishop. He is privy to some pretty great spiritual counsel and would be a great help. And how about this...rather than you becoming someone's pet project, why don't you look for someone at church that you would like to befriend and make them your pet project! I bet the friendship(s) you develop will be beneficial to the both of you!
