Neither is "Gentle Parenting" an example of "Christ-like Parenting". "For the wages of sin are death".

Hinting to your children (almost whining) that you're tired of cleaning up after them IS permissive parenting. Applying consequences for not cleaning up after themselves is not.

While I don't have anything to compare it to, taking the opposite approach was successful for my family. My children are also very well adjusted to having choice or having no choice. "No" is accepted as easily as "yes".

I fully understand the concept. I disagree with it. That appears to cause you discomfort, but I'm not sure why.

Why would I look past the specific example? I assume it is what the author believed would best represent what he is proposing.

I'm not reading into anything. I was quoting directly from one of the links you presented.

This I agree with, but that doesn't mean you need to lack discipline and direction.

Choices and complaining, not direction and causation. "I get so tired cleaning crumbs off the couch". Really? Then tell your kids to clean up after themselves. Better yet, food gets eaten at the table, not on the couch. But that's just me.

Sure, but then they go on to describe things that aren't necessarily discipline.

I assumed so with regard to sleep training. The OP covers a range of years, though. My answer doesn't change.

They can depend on me when needed. They need to learn to depend on themselves. I won't always be here. I'll pass on most of this.

I don't want the school teaching ANYTHING about sex and sexuality.

It didn't take long for even a heathen to figure out. They need to change their approach.

How am I supposed to know that? I see a podcast about Mormons, their views, and their culture and think I'll dive right in. It needs a disclaimer.

Has anyone listened to this new podcast? Listened to both episodes but I'm not a fan already. I'm not quite sure what I expected.

The pen on the right IS a zebra. I bought it at the PX on a whim while waiting for the LAMY to arrive. Both nibs are XF and both write dramatically different. The Zebra is obviously cheap and writes “scratchy” but I like it. The LAMY writes much larger and is very smooth. I haven’t tried the ink yet because both came with cartridges so I’m using those first. I haven’t done much writing with the LAMY yet as it just arrived. Im thinking of getting something with a more traditional bib because I like the look. We’ll see. I should have avoided this thread.

With regard to Castille, I don't necessarily disagree. I also agree that when the State removes your civil liberties (life) the bar must be set higher than "officer safety". I believe there should be a clear and imminent threat of the use of deadly force, not "he might have a gun". My statement was simply in opposition to the idea that this is an epidemic or one-sided.
