Church Condemnation, D&C 84:54-58
Emmanuel Goldstein replied to Emmanuel Goldstein's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
My family has certainly been studying the scriptures more in the last few months that we have in the past. I am so grateful for the leadership of President Nelson. -
Church Condemnation, D&C 84:54-58

Especially of this part, not only to say, but to do. -
I am beginning to feel, and the Spirit seems to confirm, that the positive effort the members are putting forth with Come Follow Me will lead to the lifting of this condemnation in the next few years. Especially when we hit the Book of Mormon with Come Follow Me next year. What are your thoughts on this? The more I think of this the more I am feeling confirmation from the Spirit.

April 2019 Conference Predictions
Emmanuel Goldstein replied to Emmanuel Goldstein's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
He is the first prophet in modern times that I could see doing this. The translation would go much faster with modern technology to assist. -
April 2019 Conference Predictions
Emmanuel Goldstein replied to Emmanuel Goldstein's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
I could see the Proclamation on the Family and The Living Christ becoming Official Declaration 3 and 4. Perhaps some new revelations added as section 139 and 140 as well. -
So, what do you a think is next? -Smaller wards? -More small temples?

These are all really just theories, except that the final battle took place in New York and the plates were buried in Cumorah. We have no idea where the rest took place.

Yes, they may have been confused that the sun rises in their north and sets in their south. 😜

Are there any Whovians here?
Emmanuel Goldstein replied to Aish HaTorah's topic in General Discussion
It’s too bad your friends said blink would get you hooked. The best episode to watch to get hooked is the very first episode of the new series. I’ve never been much for watching episodes of shows out of order. -

Blink was the best episode of the show, imho. -
Nope, we call it that because that is what Joseph, Moroni, Oliver and apparently at least on of the Three Disciples called it that.

Fridge Horror Thought For the Day
Emmanuel Goldstein replied to unixknight's topic in General Discussion
um, read it; but I will spoon feed it to you, Imagine a universe like this. Men would become like a civilization of Sith Lords or Star Trek Mirror Universe people, always at each others throats and scheming against others. -
Church allows missionaries to call home weekly
Emmanuel Goldstein replied to Midwest LDS's topic in Current Events
On a side note: Are missionaries now being issued iPad mini's? If so, that is very cool. And, do they just leave them behind or do they get to keep them, like their bikes? -

I like that the calls will be initiated by the missionary. This is for the missionaries, not the parents so much. -

I was until the new doctor. I have no problem with her being a woman, I just find her very boring and her little mob of companions is just not engaging. I also don't like how they have just completely abandoned the story lines that were created in previous seasons. yawn. -

That is one of the reasons that the Meso model does not work for me. The Heartland model seems to be the best one we have at this time. Especially when we look at the timeline of the Hopewell culture. The appeared and disappeared around the same time as the Lehites.

This would actually make a lot of sense. In fact, they may BE the sealed portion.

However, if the battles did take place in the great lakes area, it is possible that Moroni was able to remain hidden long enough that the Lamanites then returned far south to home, leaving him basically alone up north. Remember, the Nephites had been on the run to the north in order to escape their enemies. Just a thought on my part. Also, it is very possible that the Nephites went to New York because they had fortifications there that Mormon and his father had prepared years before the final battles. Basically, "lets build up the area where all our records are stored so we can protect them and ourselves." Also they may have had the records all the way up there in order to keep them safe from the Lamanites and at the end all the plans fell apart and forced their collective retreat.

probably because the repository is also in Cumorah in New York.

I just Redbox movies that are new releases. It is easier than waiting for Netflix or the others to get around to them. Does anyone remember when they said Netflix would have ALL movies? What a lark.

Not opening priesthood with prayer
Emmanuel Goldstein replied to gclayjr's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
I think it is because we no longer have opening exercises and just go to class. We have never had class prayer before.
